The highlight of our trip to Quebec and alone worth (multiple) repeat visits to the city. This is a place for food lovers. The high priest of the kitchen came out to introduce every dish. We went through the entire menu and repeated the desert. The veggie section delighted even the hardcore meat lovers. Drinks were equally amazing. Incredible creativity. Keep in mind that the setting is very simple, it’s not a fancy looking place. The service and the atmosphere were amazing. Can’t thank them enough. It is a tiny place and reservations are needed.

We had a 5 course meal in this unpretentious, little restaurant and we were blown away by EVERY. SINGLE. DISH. So many wonderful elements creatively brought together. Elevated gastronomy. We felt we were in the Bocuse d' Or! Our highest compliments to the chef!

A strange small restaurant with a small menu located in the city center. The name of the restaurant and dishes refers to the topic of cannabis use. The cook tries to experiment and sometimes it turns out well, sometimes raises questions. I didn’t like three types of fresh oysters with different additives. In one case, a large amount of vinegar with onion simply kills the whole taste and burns the mouth, in the second option, in addition to a large amount of ice, it is not possible to feel some taste in principle, the third option is not a good combination of flavors. Apparently, they tried to make fire and ice oysters, but it didn’t work out very well. I liked the rest of the dishes, but the choice is not big. The size of the dishes is more like snacks than basic dishes. You need to take at least 2 dishes to eat. We tried strawberry dessert. Another strange dish with a strange selection of ingredients . With cocktails and wine, the bill turned out to be large.

Personally believe: the best restaurant in the town, even better than any other place with a long history. Creative and dedicated dishes with great vibes in the restaurant. Start with excellent cocktails. Octopus is the one you would definitely need to give a try! Good service and food. I’d like to come to Quebec for this food!

Honestly, I don't know if I've ever been to a better restaurant! From the moment I walked in and were greeted by Sam, my wife and I knew we were in for a treat. We began with two cocktails, and when I didn't know which one to decide on (because they all sounded amazing) Sam asked what I would be eating and recommended a cocktail to pair with it. It was the Red Haze and it was this beautiful, balanced gin cocktail that delighted the palette and disappeared quite quickly. My wife got the Bloody Marley which was a very unique twist on the Bloody Mary/Caesar and she said it's the best she's ever had! As for the food, this is when we met Bob, who presented us with two gorgeous displays of culinary passion that I haven't seen in many years. The flavours were incredible! I've never had so many textures work so well together and the flavours complemented each other on each bite! I cannot recommend this restaurant enough! This is not a drill people, this isn't a restaurant to skip on. This will change your culinary view of what's possible when two people who care about your dining experience take it to the next level. Mark my words, this will be on Canada's Top 100 best restaurants before you know it. Edit: Went back again last night with two friends and ordered the Mega Munchies! Best experience yet. You get one of everything off the menu and it feeds 4 people perfectly! Definitely recommend it!

Creative and clever dishes, prepared excellently. We came for an early reservation with our two children and were seated in a relatively private area in the front of the restaurant. Both staff members were attentive and offered excel interpretation of the meal. They take pride in their work and at eager to share their creations. We split a five course tasting between two adults and our two young children and tacked on a couple dessert courses at the end, and we were sufficiently full. Each course was a delight, and the wine pairings were excellent. We were delighted to have the wagyu in our course, which was sumptuous and well-prepared.

A friend and I decided to pay this cozy restaurant a visit and we tried the 5-course blind meal and we were so impressed with the creativity and flavour that came out of every dish. I took a photo of each dish but completely missed one because I was so compelled to dig in! Samuel the owner was warm and inviting, and the chef came to our table to explain each dish. I did not get the name of the chef but he was very pleasant as well. For a shared meal for two, we left VERY full! The drinks were also so fun and the Red Haze was quite enjoyable. As a first time visitor to this beautiful city and for the very first restaurant we visited, we were so impressed with everything and cannot say enough good things about it. You can truly feel the level of passion and love that goes into everything. Thank you for the experience!

We made a reservation to this restaurant seeing all the great reviews and were super happy and totally agree with all the hype. The food was spectacular and so was the presentation. We chose the blind course menu and each dish surpassed the other. The dessert was the perfect closure.

If you eat at one place in Quebec City, make it Sinsemilla. What an unbelievable (and unexpected) experience. We were just walking by and the restaurant had a good vibe, so we stopped in for dinner. After checking our vaccination cards, the owner explained the menu to us and suggested we order 3-5 plates to share. We ended up ordering 5 dishes plus a dessert and two bottles of wine. Each dish was beautifully arranged, creatively composed, elegantly layered with different textures, and exceptionally delicious. We'll certainly return before the end of our week-long visit. The owner is also the bartender and server and the chef works alone in the kitchen and serves the dishes himself. They are both kind, innovative, and passionate about what they do. I don't think I could love this place more.

I’ve dined internationally many times and hold my eating experiences near and dear to my heart. It is not often that a restaurant jumps to the top of favorites, but Sinsemilla has won my heart. The food - especially the big cheese course- was wonderful but the dessert course menu is what really stole the show. I am nearly crying tears of joy after eating the black cherry and super lemon haze courses.

Man, it was good, amazingly good, worth every penny. The chef merit his title without a doubt and you'll be friend with the owner-waiter without noticing. They'll inform you that you need around 3 to 5 dish ( shared with someone else) and it's true, we had 4 and one more dish would have been enough to be fully satiated. The food had an incredible and unique taste, was perfectly cooked and Oh so flavourful!

Excellent food with a chill vibe. Owner was also the server and he seemed to obviously care about the quality and the customers. Cocktails are awesome and beer options are also solid. Some of the dishes are great twists on traditional food too

If you are ever in Quebec City, do yourself a favour and visit Sinsemilla , a hidden restaurant, operated by two people Samuel, the owner (aka host, waiter, bartender) and Bob, the chef (aka sous-chef, dishwasher, prep guy). It’s one of those places where you feel a personality behind every little thing- starting from a repurposed gin bottle for your water, decor with steel buckets instead of chandeliers, and ending with a dish that not only looks like a piece of art but also tastes like a bite of heaven. Thanks Sam & Bob for having us & for rocking Quebec’s restaurant scene even after such a tough year for the industry! Expect to see us again every time we come to Quebec

Hidden gem! Must visit if you come to Québec City! The two guys who own the restaurant definitely can give you the Michele Star French cuisine experience with much less of the price! Highly recommended!

Sensational gastronomic place in Quebec City. Owned by two sympa guys, one is taking care of the bar and dining room, another is a chief experimenting with food, for their menu changes almost every two weeks. Of course, it is not total renewal but you can be sure to find something new. Amazing dining experience and interesting combination of tastes. I’d say it is must if you happen to be in the city.

Truly a great experience! Make sure you book. Sinsemilla has the concept where they have a set 5-course-menu, which seems to be changed every month. Sam and his colleague are the only two who work and manage Sinsemilla, so you have to keep in mind that they are 2 to manage a small restaurant with about 30 seats where they serve a 5-course-menu and take the time to explain what is being served. When we arrived, Sam very nicely greeted us. One could feel that he is passionate about what he does and is happy to share their creations. As we sat down, we were given the menus and Sam made sure we had all questions aside before deciding what to order. They have a small à-la-carte selection but personally I would stick to the menu if you are a curious eater who likes to try out new things. We also opted for the drink-set. Each course is accompagnied by a wine of Sam and the chef's choice. As the dishes arrived one by one, Sam explained to us what every piece in the dish was and served the paired wine, for which he also offered an explenatiom if why they went for that specific wine. We were in for a treat! Each dish was unique in its own way. Flavours, textures and aesthetics were all lovely. The wines really enhanced the flavours of the dishes and vice versa, so we were happy we ordered their drinks-pairing. To be honest, I could write pages of how good and new the 5-course-menu was. A true culinary journey, led by Sam. He really made our night. If we really wanted to pick on a few items: 1. The cutlery was a bit cheap, I think they could probably upgrade to some more "classy" cutlery, despite the very chill atmosphere. They didn't change cutlery between each dish. Considering they are just 2, I think it's fine. 2. Different wines were served in the same glasses (except red and white). But again, considering they are 2 managing about 30 customers, that's really a small detail that doesn't take away how exceptional we thought Sinsemilla is. If you are in Québec, don't miss a chance to come here and have a culinary journey.

Reading all the great reviews… my partner and I were very excited to try Sinsemilla restaurant. And the theme of the restaurant is very fun. However, it ended up leading to a disappointing meal. I don’t know if we just were there at a bad time, the chef was having a bad day, or the menu weren’t properly tested for quality… but every single dish missed the mark for us. Generally there was a lack of balance, acidity, or the texture/taste was just wrong! I just expected more considering the high price point and all the high reviews. They do get points for good cocktails, really great customer service, and trying to push the boundaries to make interesting dishes. I just wished they honoured each ingredient more and made sure the elements came together cohesively.

It is more and more rare to find creativity in the food industry. Many places serve excellent dishes. This restaurant is raising the bar. Exceptional food, incredible flavours and combinations, wonderful cocktails. The atmosphere is wonderful. Go now before it becomes too popular.

The chef here is amazing! The restaurant seems to be a two man team with owners being the chef and the hostess, server, and bar tender. We felt very welcomed as soon as we got in and these guys made sure that everything was to our satisfactory. The chef definitely deserves a Michelin star. From my eyes to my mouth I was awed

Creative use and mix of fresh & good ingredients, with all dishes tastety and beautifully presented. Keen understanding of each ingredient's strength with each dish thoughtfully and carefully created. Though not a place to go if you are looking for international 5 star hotel restaurant setting or a place designed by an interior designer for an year's wage. It's a small outfit where the owner and chef are passionate about food and service.

Hands down the best restaurant experience we've ever had! You must go and try Sinsemilla's five-course blind menu. Every dish was insanely good, and explained by the chef himself. It was so nice to actually interact with the chef and hear the thought that went in to each unique and delicious dish. Honestly, it was better than any cooking show we've ever watched! Our server (co-owner) was such a fun, personable guy. He always made sure our needs were met and was so grateful for our business. We live in Guelph, Ontario and would consider driving back to Quebec City to experience another five-course meal at Sinsemilla!!

This place is so amazing! We ordered the 5 course meal plus dessert and the dishes completely blew my mind. Every dish was absolutely delicious, and you can tell the chefs are very passionate about their creation, like works of art! I am also very grateful to them as they were so nice to explain all the food in english! Oh, and lets not forget their amazing drinks. Id give this place a 6 stars if i could! My favorite restaurant in Quebec City by far and will definitely return when Im back in town.

Absolutely must stop in, make a reservation. They explain all of their food which is beyond amazing. Beer was stronger than I am used to, but it was made from all locally sources ingredients and tasted phenomenal. The chefs spin on dishes is out if this world.

I came to Quebec City yearning for an authentic but unique experience and found it here. I just happened to stumble across this restaurant by chance. I had the raw oysters and in my whole life, I have never tested oysters this fresh, and yet with an original flare. Highly recommended!!!!

Restaurant Sinsemilla proved to be an unforgettable dining experience that catered to every aspect of our visit, making it the perfect spot for both couples and families alike. From the moment we stepped through the door, we were greeted with warm smiles and attentive service, making us feel at home with our 10-month-old baby. The restaurant's staff deserves a special mention for their exceptional service. They went above and beyond to ensure our comfort throughout the meal, providing the most suitable seating arrangement for easy maneuvering with a baby in tow. Their friendly demeanor and genuine interest in accommodating our needs made us feel truly welcomed. The real star of the show, however, was the food. Sinsemilla's menu was a delightful exploration of flavors, full of creative and playful dishes that tickled our taste buds with each bite. It was evident that the chefs put careful thought into crafting a menu that was both inventive and satisfying. The diverse range of options allowed us to explore various tastes and ingredients, and we were pleasantly surprised by how well they executed each dish. Overall, Restaurant Sinsemilla surpassed our expectations in every aspect. The great service that accommodated our 10-month-old, coupled with the extraordinary culinary experience, made this dining adventure one to remember. If you're seeking a restaurant that values creativity, flavor, and exceptional service, then Sinsemilla should be at the top of your list. We cannot wait to return and explore more of their imaginative menu.
