Entrance is donation based, so if you are on a budget and want to get a flavor of the catacombs, this is the perfect place. What you see here is very similar to whatā€™d youā€™d see in St. Paul. I do advise you to read about the history of the catacombs separately in case you donā€™t go to St. Paul as well. I loved the way the church looks from the outside. Seems like a perfect portal to the underworld :)

A small church to visit on your way around the city. Supported by donations of the visitors.

Saint Katald lived in the 7th century. This Irish religious during his ministry was the bishop of Rachau in Ireland and the alleged bishop of Taranto in today's Puglia. His memory in Malta was spread by the Normans. The ancient catacombs that lie beneath the church are often overshadowed by Maltaā€™s more well-known St. Paul and St. Agada catacombs. Dating from the late 2nd to the 3rd centuries, these small catacombs were originally a Punic burial shaft. The graves in the catacombs are beautiful examples of canopied tombs, while many other graves are hewn in the rocks.

You can enter there only a little donation. The catacombs are small not much things but you can give it a try.

šŸ˜  This park needs closed down and the animals need to be rehomed ASAP. Its so sad to see these magnificent animals treat like this. Tigers, lions, pumas, bears in enclosures the size of an average bedroom some with no water and no shade. We just wish we looked at the reviews before visiting instead of...

šŸ‘šŸ‘ A cheap, unique and cool experience. Definitely worth doing if you have the time. You can see as little or as much as you'd like as you take yourself round a series of catacombs. Bought tickets upon arrival which was no problem.
