I am currently staying at the hotel with my husband and the hotel is just awful and definitely not a 5 stars !!! The receptionists were very unpleasant and rude and did not welcome us properly. The hotel and rooms are very old and need urgent renovation !! When you take a shower you will need to choose between boiling water and frozen water, there is no other option, and the hose splashes everywhere as it's old. The pool area is also very old-fashioned and not fun to sit, in addition it is not possible to order food, snacks for the pool area... so we decided it will be better to sit by the sea. There is no value for your money at all !! This hotel is not recommended!!! If you want to spoil yourself in a 5 star hotel go to ROYAL BEACH and if your budget is low go to the boutique hotels around here but definitely not this hotel !!! This is my recommendation.

The cleaner came into the room without any guest’s request or permission after the guest checked in the room. Which they assume it’s ok for the cleaner to enter the room during evening while the guest went out for dinner . Is this logic acceptable at all ? After making the complain call to manager . The manager’s apology is very robotic and lack of sincerity. This is their standard procedure of handling the complain.

The room is very old and small. The only good thing that I can think of was “buffet breakfast” ! Variety selection of food, bread, drinks. However, the staff who taking my orders was not friendly at all .

I had such high hopes for this hotel. This is a typical run down 1990’s conference hotel. The quality of the room for $450 per night was horrific. I had hair on the walls of the shower stall. If I wanted to shower for more than 2 mins, the bathroom would flood, I had to go to the salon down the street wash my hair because of this. All the appliances are so old and the room is by far one of the worst I have stayed in. It was depressing beyond words and definitely affected my trip. I have stayed in hostels in Tel Aviv with better quality. Everything about the hotel such as fitness room, the pools, elevators etc was so outdated, I was not at all inspired to use them. They only have pool service on weekends but I didn’t see anyone at the bar area anyways and probably wouldn’t feel comfortable ordering from there anyways. The only highlight was the hotel breakfast but definitely not worth it. Please avoid at all costs, one of the worst places I have stayed in Tel Aviv.

While it is considered a five star hotel I've been to much better 4 and 3 in the U.S. It was nice but the shower lacked in efficiency, 2 double beds instead of a large, and small non HD TV.

The Dan Tel Aviv was once something. It was the flagship of hotels in Israel by which others were measured. Today's it's one of the slowest sinking shipwrecks. It takes its 5-star status for granted. And here's why that is a problem. You have to live up to a 5-star expectation. And this Dusty Dan doesn't. It fails in training its staff to be a 5-star worthy crew, and it fails to keep up its hotel as a 5-star place. When you don't have either, you start sinking. The building is tired. It's interior design is dateless - meaning it never belonged in any time period. Its walls are crying out for a do-over. Its rooms are best described as a cruise ship that's no longer in the Top 40. Its only two elevators are reminiscent of a 1950s co-op in Brooklyn - constantly packed with guests - forcing you to use the emergency staircases which look like those you see in crime movies. Yaacov Agam, the artist responsible for the only thing that makes the Dan the Dan - its colorful side - which can only be seen from the beachside, surely is asking himself how his paint is keeping up this building. The staff needs time off. They all need a week at the Royal Beach a few streets South from here. There you will find 5-star service and attitude. You see, in my view, you have to keep earning a 5-star status. That's why I gave them a 2-star rating. Had the Dan been honest, and listed themselves as 1-star hotel, I'd given them 5 stars. If you can follow that.

Thank you to the entire team at Dan Tel Aviv for a great stay. With the hotel’s great location, outstanding service and attention to detail - I could truly relax. From the Front Desk to Housekeeping - Food and Beverage to Maintenance- every request was taken care of immediately. I must especially thank the wonderful Concierge team led by Jonathan - there is no request that they can’t take care of and guaranteed to leave the guest smiling. Dan Tel Aviv proudly has its Leading Hotels of the World status and clearly represents its standards to the highest degree. Thank you very much. Jeremy Weiss

Was not impressed at all! Travelling to Israel for a Wedding and staying in a 5 Star Hotel should be an enjoyable and relaxing experience but it’s fair to say I was disappointed. Upon arrival, the check-in staff were extremely abrasive and attacking, questioning our booking until they found it. Not only this, our room was advertised as having two single beds, however they could only accommodate us with one double which was not at all convenient. The rooms were also to The standard of a 2-3 star hotel rather than a so-called 5 star. I will give compliments to the amazing Israeli buffet breakfast however there’s not much else to shout about. Finally, the check out process was also a hassle as they attempted to double charge us but I honestly would rather stop talking about my poor experience. Will never stay in this hotel again, and I’ll learn from my mistakes in trusting the Dan Hotel Brand. This Hotel is in desperate need of modernisation in order to keep its 5 star status and honestly, I’m surprised it’s not 3 star! £600-900 a night for this is genuinely a scam to me!

If I could give this hotel negative stars, I would do it in a heartbeat. Absolutely the worst hotel in Israel. The staff might be the rudest I’ve ever encountered in my life (I’ve stayed in countless hotels all over the world and in Israel and I have never been more unwelcomed than at Dan Hotel). The check-in was disastrous and so lengthy. We were met with a couple issues during check-in and instead of trying to resolve the situation and be helpful the concierges were so rude and refused to help do anything and watched us sit in the lobby for hours. And If you thought the whole “greeting” issue downstairs was bad, just wait until you enter the awful rooms. The rooms were absolutely disgusting. They reeked of a moldy smell upon walk in. The rooms were so outdated, small, dirty, and overall so foul. I would be ashamed to even hand keys to someone to this room let alone let them stay in it. NEVER STAY HERE. If you really want to spoil yourself with a nice hotel, take yourself to Royal Beach roughly 5 min. down the beach. Same price different experience. Don’t waist your time, money, or energy on this dump they call a hotel.

First time staying here and it was superb. Walked in and there were refreshing beverages to quench our thirst. The young lady at the front desk was pleasant & so were the people at check out. I was disappointed with the gym because I was so ready to workout but it’s under construction, so I understand that. The views, pools, hot tub & beach were jaw dropping. I loved my room, and I was shocked to see a standing glass shower and a tub with a tv in the bathroom!! The proximity to the beach was perfect but overall the inside of the hotel was regal and had so many options to keep you on the property. Crispy fish sandwich with fries for dinner and an amazing spread for breakfast. Great stay!! I highly recommend!!

Located by the beach which is great. My only complaint would be the gym is rather small but you can get an adequate dumbbell workout.

Great hotel. Stayed here for weeks without any issues. Easy access to beach. King David Lounge has the best view for beach. Also Mr. Alex from the lounge makes the best drinks, and is most welcoming n happy face to see.

We really love Dan Hotels chain and we are club members for many years. It's our second time in Dan TA and this time we didn't have any upgrade. Only sad view to the next hotel empty pool... Also we paid 80 NIS for parking... Like the room price is not high enough for the off season. But as usual we loved cleaness in the room, and breakfast was super delicious! I also enjoyed the indoor pool, but unfortunately jacuzzi was out of service. The stuff is very nice, but some of them don't speak Hebrew, that is strange. We will continue to love Dan, but we'll be glad for some discounts or upgrades for the permanent clients. This time even room service was without regular 8% discount.

I was actually surprised to find such high quality of service and food and accommodation in such a top location... Usually in such locations one could allow less quality at a tough price. But in Dan Tel-Aviv the rooms are clean, when you go down for breakfast you are met with a smile by Natalia who is also offering a drink in the business lounge and if she is not there, then Alex will take care of you and make sure you have everything you need during informal meetings. Pleased with this hotel!

To whom at may concern, the hotel services were bad, we are waiting for over an hour for a glass and a towel, simple things the services in the hotel can not provide. The glasses in the room are dirty. For the prices you are charging it is extremely poor service. Dirty glasses and pelling walls. And truly a bad service.

I think this is the best Hotel in Tel Aviv and also the best breakfast in Israel

  • 4/5 Gari C. 1 year ago on Google
Seemed overpriced compared to nearby offerings. I know it's technically on the beach/boardwalk - but it isn't really. It's a shame there's no back door directly onto the beach. You are paying for a beach-side location, but you have to walk through noisy streets to get there. It's located opposite an Irish pub, so bring earplugs if your room isn't beach-side. Room service didn't start until 7.40am, so not much use if you have an early flight or any business meetings that aren't next door. I had to pre-buy my own breakfast from a local supermarket. Free Nespresso and tea/kettle in the room. No complimentary water in the room (not even a starter bottle). You can pay the earth for the bottles they place on almost every surface. Snack bar disappointing, but there was a free fruit bowl in the room that they will replenish daily if you want. Room wasn't ready when I arrived, even though I booked months in advance.

The Dan Tel Aviv; a hotel steeped in history. First hotel in Tel Aviv and first five star in Israel. We had a comfortable stay here enjoying the sea view ‘renovated’ rooms and a lovely breakfast and fantastic buffet dinner on the Friday. Aspects of the hotel would need drastically improved; cleaning of the room, concierge (horrific) and the hotel in general would need renovated. The location is amazing but the staff not so proactive. Under the leading hotels of the world brand the hotel is far from the standard and I would question their credibility as a brand. A very solid four star hotel but very far from a true LHW five.

Shows its age but compensates with exceptional staff. Room I stayed was big, well equipped and maintained but some parts were very old and should be replaced (wardrobe). Beachfront location great for the tourist but awful traffic-wise for the business traveller.

Our stay at the Dan was Fabulous. The service was warm abd accomodating. Shabbat was delicious and elegant. The room was perfect (new executive suite). It was by far one of our favorite vacations!

Awesome experience I can see why this place is rated five stars. Alon front desk made everything easy for us to check in under welcomed any questions that we had. We were pleasantly helped with getting our luggage to our room and any other services we needed by Allan. Michelle in guest relations gave us the warmest welcome with complementary beverages. This hotel is a definite must do with one of the most spectacular views overlooking the beautiful beach.

Descent hotel, staff are not the most interacting and kind, even though some cleaners are. The location is perfect! The breakfast was nothing amazing but good, even though the waiting service was very ashaming. The parking was the worst of all though. The owner of the parking thought it would be a good idea to make more money by doubling the amount of cars that can enter, meaning that half of the cars are blocked and need to be moved in order to edit, which really ruins plans (mainly timed reservations)!

I had the immense pleasure of staying at the Dan Tel Aviv Hotel for 12 nights, and it surpassed every expectation. From the moment we arrived, we were enveloped in sheer luxury and impeccable hospitality. The check-in process was nothing short of splendid, with the staff being incredibly warm and attentive. The cuisine at the hotel is something to write home about. Breakfasts were a culinary journey in themselves, offering a plethora of options that catered to every palate. But the standout for me was the Friday night Shabbat dinner—it was a grand affair, akin to being at an upscale wedding. The myriad choices, all of which were fresh and delectably tantalizing, left us spoilt for choice. The upgraded executive rooms offered us a lavish experience, providing comfort and a spectacular ocean view that was a delight to wake up to every morning. The hotel's pool area became our favorite spot to relax, especially with the most comfortable chairs I've ever lounged in. And with direct beach access and efficient towel service, our beach outings were a breeze! Location-wise, the Dan Tel Aviv is unrivaled. Nestled right in the heart of the city's action, every amenity and attraction seemed a stone's throw away. It's bewildering to me that some might leave negative reviews about this establishment. As the adage goes, "You get what you pay for." And at Dan Tel Aviv, you get premium luxury, unparalleled service, and an unforgettable experience. If you're eyeing an ocean-view room with all the trimmings, do yourself a favor and book the "New Executive Room". A heartfelt thanks to all the staff for making our stay memorable. A special shoutout to Maya, the guest relation manager, for her exceptional service. Our family, including our three children, had the time of their lives. For us, there will be no other choice in Tel Aviv—Dan Tel Aviv will always be our home away from home! Highly, and honestly, recommended above all others in the city.

I like that this place has both an indoor and outdoor pools and it overlooks the Mediterranean Sea. The building is not new and some parts of it are dilapidated. For example a large chunk of black marble, over the main entrance door fell during my stay. This was very dangerous. The stucco is discolored on the way to the pool. The rooms seem okay but not outstanding. Being in a five star hotel I would expect the rooms to be nicer.

Rooms are decent but a bit too old, staffs are nice and friendly, food were nice as well. Nice location easy to get to the beach

  • 2/5 James K. 10 months ago on Google
Pros: The location on the beach is great and the gym is pretty well equipped. Cons: 1. The service of the staff here leaves a lot to be desired. Front desk staff can be abrasive, the pool staff are rude. Significant lying and inconsistent information from hotel staff - despite being entitled to a complementary upgrade, we were told no rooms were available, then 2 minutes later told we could pay for an upgrade. 2. Service was disastrous and certainly not 5 star. No shower towels in the room - how could this be 5 star. 3. Safety and security. They left the door of our room open the whole day whilst we were at the beach with all our valuables in it. 4. Very Outdated hotel. We had only one PowerPoint in our room, their solution was to unplug the TV to have one more. There is no PowerPoint in the bathroom. Summary - maybe 20 years ago this would have been a 5 star hotel but it has become dishevelled. What’s more, it appears the guest service team are uninterested in improving the guest experience. Awaiting to here back from Guest services before finalising the review.

Really bad…staying in it right now. Rooms not properly cleaned, falling out sockets, fingerprints everywhere, dirty windows, extremely unpleasant smell and horribly outdated rooms and appliances. Never again, not for business travel

Excellent location, clean and wide rooms. Too bad there is no spa service (most probably due to the covid-19 spread) Breakfast is great and the place is so quite and very very clean, food is well presented. The pools are located in the second floor (one indoor and one with sea water in the outdoor area) amazing view to the beach. Price per night is very expensive though We enjoyed it

Iconic hotel with great rooms and very close proximity to the public beach. The buffet breakfast is top notched with a great variety of high quality food. However, there are rooms for improvement when it comes to the staff. A concierge desk staff turned down my request to book a table upon hearing the name of a restaurant, saying reservations were not accepted which was untrue. The waiting staff at the restaurant also need more knowledge in dining etiquette. My unconsumed drinks and cutleries were removed from the table even when the presence of my belongings and a napkin on the chair were clearly showing I would be heading back. Later I was asked if my plate could be removed when my fork and knife were placed at the "I am still working on it" positions with napkin on my lap. All of these should never happen in a 5-star hotel.

I stay in the month of May 2022 , Hotel is located in really nice area and front beach . The staff was friendly and helped. At the entrance have different tiles autographed by celebrities. The room was clean and modern. The food was good . Have beautiful sunset …!

The hotel is located on the beach, we got a room with a sea view and it is spectacular, the breakfast is good but I ate better. the dinner is boring, maybe tailored to the European palate

  • 2/5 Michael S. 2 years ago on Google
Review is for the lobby restaurant and bar only. The buffet section is old, with unwelcoming decor more befitting a low budget hotel, with harsh florescent lighting that detracts from the atmosphere. We chose to sit in the bar section instead. The food is mediocre and the service is some of the worst I have experienced living in Israel for the last few years. Only the bus-boy was attentive and polite. Guests should steer clear and take the time to make a dinner reservation at basically any other restaurant, or just walk to Dizengoff circle. Hard pass!

It would be hard to exaggerate how old and tired and lousy this hotel is, even before taking into account the unbelievably high prices. Its the hotel equivalent to Kikar Atarim, so bombastic, yet totally old and faded. Nothing cool or exciting, and really quite shabby and worn out. The carpet in the room was brown with dirt ground in from years of use to the point of being really foul. The shower stall leaked water into the room. The furniture fell apart when moved. For a real experience, check out the stairs. Its like a time tunnel to the 1950‘s. Attached are a few photos. The air conditioning was ungovernable and the people at our event were either freezing or sweating, and yet the staff blamed us. There are so many nice places to stay in Tel Aviv. This hotel is simply a „tear down“ and in any other city in the world would be at most a 2-star hotel. Attached are a few photos. Enjoy

Review for the pool and gym area only. The manager for this area does a really good job with her team, looking after the pool and gym very well and you regularly see them cleaning down the areas. My only request would be to go back to pre-Covid opening times - 7pm close is far too early especially if you’re there on business and your meetings don’t finish until then. I’d expect a 5* establishment to keep its facilities open till at least 10pm.

My third time visiting the Dan Tel Aviv. For me, the best located hotel in the City. In the heart of everything good about Tel Aviv. Apart from the brand new hotels, most 5 star places are now a little old but that i guess is all part of the charm of coming to visit Israel. The executive rooms have been newly refurbished and done to a great standard giving you everything you need. The breakfasts are exceptional and all the staff were very helpful, especially as we had a young baby who is going through the phase of throwing everything on the floor! A special mention to Noa in customer relations and Alex in the King David Lounge for making our stay special. Will be returning in the near future.

Front desk is rude first waited a good 15 minutes to just be told my room isn’t ready at 4:05 pm and they have no idea when it’ll be ready, coming from a flight didn’t pay $600 to sit on old uncomfortable couch and I’ll get a text when housekeeping has my room ready it can be in 5 minutes it can be 5 hours lady at front desk has no idea this is more like a 1 star hotel definitely not a 5 star hotel incompetent rude front desk receptionist first they take all my info and charge then they tell me room is not ready and we have no idea when it’ll be ready

The hotel is run down and living off of its former glory. The room was fine. There was no entry directly to the beach. The pool area seemed neglected and dirty. The pool cafe was sub par. The service in the lobby was unsatisfactory. They watched as we pulled our luggage around up and down steps. There was no effort at gracious service. We booked there last minute based upon our amazing experience at the King David. King David should be embarrassed to be related to Tel Aviv Dan. There was no attempt to cooperate with a late checkout request. Amex platinum even called for us and remarked about how un-gracious the desk was. This is a terrible shame to see at a time when Israel is trying to re-establish its tourist industry. I totally understand why my dad moved his business to the David Intercontinental years ago!!
