BED BUGS, MOLD If I could give this hotel 0 stars I would. The hotel seems like it would be nice due to its location but this hotel ruined my trip in Israel. First off, the hotel is CROWDED. Tons of groups, lobby always crowded, breakfast area overflowing with people. The hotel rooms had mold on ceiling and bathroom, no mattress protectors, super thin sheets. On the second night there I found bed bugs under my sheets. When I told the manager he came to look at the bugs and didn’t deny that they were bed bugs. He said this is normal for hotels and that all he could do was bring me different sheets. He was extremely rude and stormed out of the room. Would not even let me speak to his manager. Bed bugs are extremely dangerous in hotel rooms as they can spread and be carried in your suitcase, clothes, etc. I had to leave the hotel and get my clothes cleaned and quarantine my suitcase for days in order to ensure I didn’t bring these bugs home. AVOID THIS HOTEL. There are so many better hotels in tel aviv. Staying further from the beach is even better than this hotel.

I have stayed here many many times my first time was 1986. I love the location. The hotel in the last few years has improved. The pool and sun deck is now modern and completely refurbished. Breakfast has moved on to offer modern day necessities in competition with other hotels of 4 stars. The presentation is excellent. Rooms are showing some age but I must say it is an excellent hotel in a fabulous position. The staff well what can I say they are all so good and welcoming, nothing too much for them. With all the times I stay there I just wish they would give me a better deal, they do not offer any loyalty programme and reservations do nothing to entice returning guests, not even an upgrade of room. Poor long term business planning. I love this hotel and would recommend it to anyone visiting Tel Aviv.

Front desk staff are wonderful, especially Ahmed! While the rooms are not the biggest ever, they are perfectly satisfactory. The cleanliness and attention to detail could be approved but wasn't so bad that I would not stay again. Breakfast is amazing as is the location.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Metropolitan Hotel. The best part was when I went outside in the morning (we checked in at night) and looked down the street, the ocean was less than 2 blocks away. I requested a room without carpeting and it was great. The rooms are a little small, but not bad. It smelled clean throughout the hotel and the room itself. My wife is really finicky and she was satisfied with this hotel. The employees were all very nice and gave us excellent service. There are computers in the lobby available for free which was super helpful. The breakfast was really good too. If you want a great location, clean hotel and good customer service, this will do it.

no coffee machine in rooms (or in reception for clients to use), and no happy hour, unlike many other hotels in TLV. Cleaning was late. Asked for fresh towels but request ignored. Had to go outside room to get more towels. Breakfast used to be good, but now less good. On second morning choice very limited - no tuna for example. I've stayed at the this hotel many times, but not again.

I had left cash in the desk drawer when i checked out and noticed a few hours later. I called to instruct them to put it in an envelope so that the agency i was with can pick it up. But according to the front desk they didn’t find anything. Beside that the room was in terrible shape - we were told we were getting two queen beds, we got two twins. The bathroom walls and ceiling are moldy. Try to steer away from this place they aren’t very helpful with anything.

The room was spacious and comfortably appointed. The staff were friendly and accommodating. We decided to have breakfast in the hotel, which was very good. Additionally, the afternoon "happy hour" in the lobby was a lovely surprise - great food tastings. The location is great - just a block from the promenade and beach. The hotel's elevator is very small and a bit bouncy before stabilizing when finally reaching a floor.

The online pictures of the hotel are misleading. It’s an old hotel, poorly cleaned and seedy. I booked it mainly because of the fitness room service. However, the gym is not sufficient: I was expecting a lot more material. My room, which I am still in, is dirty. It was not worth it the price. The service is also not good. I arrived very late at night due to my flight, and despite being tired I had to wait at the front desk for 20 min because the receptionist was talking outside with a mate. Moreover, when he came in, he attended first another guest in the line despite being me there before, because he was an aircraft pilot and he said “sorry but mr. Pilot is very tired and he needs a room asap”. Well, I WAS ALSO TIRED. They also charged me the VAT, which non-israeli citizens dont have to pay, so they had to refund me the amount after complaining. On the other hand, breakfast and location are good.

If you have stayed in 4 star hotels in EU, then you’ll understand what I’m talking about. Comparing to EU 4 star hotels this hotel is a garbage. In neighbor room someone was smoking ganja and through ventilation my room was full of smoke. Rooms are dirty, very small rooms, showers are dirty, cheapest toilet paper that I’ve ever seen.

The Metropolitan is a nice old hotel in the heart of downtown. It was close to mini-markets, laundries, and drug stores. The boardwalk and beach were minutes away walking. And, if you need it, the US Embassy is a block away. Staff is very nice and knowedgeable. But the rooms are tiny and cramped. That’s why it’s best as a one-night only stay.

I have stayed in the hotel since 1986 on many, many occasions. I must say that the staff are attentive and must point out the new assistant manager Dana who has a very good manner with clients and is a very good addition to the team. valentine on reception has an amazing way and his experience shows when dealing with day to day queries calmly and efficiently. The hotel rooms are showing age, I was in 1110 and the view is amazing, the fridge is old rusty on outside and the temperature cant be controlled, it freezes everything, the edges of the wardrobes are falling apart, the safe has seen better days, the furniture is very used, marked and really the bathrooms should have a walk in shower, rather than climbing into a high slippery bath. ( An accident waiting to happen ) It is time the rooms are refurbished. Apart from that the bed is good the pillows have a good variety as with any 4 star hotel and the view across the sea are a wow, especially as you can even hear the waves on a quiet night. Breakfast has a variety of food, this year they have cut the fishes and there is one each day, plus at least a dozen types of cheese ( OK if you eat cheese if you are lactose intolerant there is no goat, sheep or vegan options ), some vegetables, breads, cereal, cakes, fruits. The new chef loves chillies and the cooked vegetables are hot in your mouth ( good if you like hot food ). The baked Tomatoes that have a herb crust, burnt your mouth as you ate them, the next two days they were on the back with the cold cooked vegetables but they did not go ). There are coffees tea, juice and even now alternative milks such as oak, almond or soya. Usually they had shakshuka on Shabbat but not this year. Overall presentation is very good. The pool has been refurbished and is good quality with a nice deck and modern loungers. There is also a small gym/fitness room. The hotel web site mentions a sauna but this does not exist. The hotel caters for many groups, army officers, groups of visitors to the country from all countries of the world and Israeli groups, companies and the reception area has a small lounge in front of it. They seems to congregate there as the lounge area is so limited but instead of buying food and drinks from the hotel they open like picnics what a belabagun. The hotel needs are larger lobby lounge for its size, a piano bar or something. Anyway the lounge in front of the reception is too small. The location one road from the sea is awesome. Value for money the hotel is good, apart from the rooms being a bit run down, location is fabulous and I would recommend it to any traveller visiting Tel Aviv.

The location is great, and the staff is very friendly. Rooms were clean. Breakfast was good. My biggest complaint is that the room was very hot, and the AC only blew hot air. There was one window which we had to have wide open all the time, and even then it was so hot. I slept with no covers and sweating. The elevators seems to have some issues, plus there are only 2 for the majority of the rooms, which meant we often were waiting a while to get up and down the building. There was no ventilation in the bathroom (no fan) so it got very moist and foggy. I don't think I would stay here again, mostly because of the room temperature.

The hotel is pretty old and it’s interior are not for those used to fancy ones! It’s just a decent one but I must admit the people there serving are lovely! It was interesting to see a mixed cuisine spread during dinner! I found the food selection normal, the chicken, fish and beef were average. The vegetables and salad were fresh and liked it! Next day, breakfast was decent and liked the local cultural selection they had with hummus, cous cous and olives etc food not bad, hotel stay not for the faint hearted 😉

Metropolitan Hotel is located just a couple of minutes walk to the seashore. Bus stops, shops, restaurants and bars are abundant in the nearby. Rooms are neat and clean, even the small single ones like the one I stayed in. Breakfasts are delicious. The staff are nice and helpful, especially Ahmed who welcomed me and helped a lot thereafter. Recommended!

The hotel is very nice and clean and has a great location. They were also very pleasant- the breakfast was delicious. The only one complaint I have is that they don’t turn on the AC during the winter months. For me 70 degrees is not winter - other than that I recommend it. The customers should be able to have AC in the room if they wish

Our experience at Muse Hotel was a very good one. On the positive side: the food was excellent with a rich breakfast and we were lucky to arrive on Thursday when they had an Aperitivo moment with delicious appetizers, fruits, and wine, tea, and juices. On receptionist was very friendly, still, when asking to translate the parking conditions we didn't receive accurate information so we had to pay a lot more for parking. The location is good, close to the Carmel market and the beach. On the negative side: the heating in the room was not working as it was controlled centrally without any option to increase the temperature in the room. Despite our 2 calls to reception and their confirmation that will send someone to have a look, nobody came. In the end, we managed to heat our room a bit, using the hair dryer (yes, they have very good hair dryers and this should be on the positive part :).

Hotels like everything in Tel Aviv are really expensive. Metropolitan is much less so. It is clean, friendly, and functional. It is not elegant; a bit noisy from the halls and outside where you have to open the windows to get temperature right in the room; the furnishings are old; and the breakfast is plentiful but not the most exciting. I stayed twice in the same week with a night at the King David in between. Different experience but 1/3 the price and good value.

Food not available as per Indian standards. No vegetarian dishes provided despite requests. Food menu is full of non veg items only. Rooms are also not so spacious. Restaurant is full of smell of non veg items cooked in olive oil which was intolerable. Suggest not to be there if you are a vegetarian.

The rooms are beautiful, well decorated and the bathroom is big and fully equipped. The staff is really nice and responsive. As for breakfast: we were staying for an overnight during the weekend, so no coffee machine, no hot dish to choose, the variety is quite poor, the cheese selection is wide enough but basic (low quality), "pale" salads, but the fruit selection is great and tasty. As for the lobby seating area: the sofas are inconvenient and should be replaced. To summarize: great location, pleasant hotel but needs to do some "fine tuning" regarding the small details. Thanks anyway, we enjoyed our stay.

The bathroom need an overhaul. The space on the toilet was very small and uncomfortable. The carpet in the room was so dirty, that you need shoes to walk on it. Maybe the carpet wasn't changed the last 20 years or so. If I had the chance I would chose an other hotel. Breakfast was medium quality. Nothing special. Not good, not bad.

The hotel looks fantastic from outside. The lobby is good and the staff are friendly. On the other hand, once entered room, there is a smell like a mouldy smell. The bathroom is really small really not much room to turn. Restaurant food is standard. The only good thing is near the beach.

reception desk is particularly friendly and professional rooms with the cemetery view are okay for the price, the seaview is of course better. Room size very good. Cleanliness was okay, better than acceptable, but worse than outstanding. Again, for the price its totally okay. Breakfast: amazing, extraordinary. For the price the kitchen definitely punches above its weight, kiss the cook. Recommending this hotel for the smart traveller who is willing to make some serious compromises on the fanciness, but is willing to have good location, good rooms, and a really good breakfast.

Hotel is fine- pleasant staff willing to help. Stadard room has very comfortable bed but the bathroom is tiny/ Pool area perfect for relaxing and having a drink or snack- elevators work fine- there were synagogue services and shabbat keys- very close to beach- 4 minute walk/Hotel was very cold. Food quite delicious.

Great Atmosphere, the staff was fantastic, and offcourse location, location, location. I loved the fact that many of the guests where young families with kids, which contributed to the overall plesent vacation, specially near the pool. Also liked the new Cafeteria that was opened in the pool floor. Hope to visit again!

I have stayed a few times. Nice staff. Fantastic location. Wonderful pool. However, looks very run down, poor coffee for breakfast, food way below average for a hotel at that price range. Really needs to be renovated. For that price will probably choose another hotel next time.

The one place to call home away from home! Beautiful amenities, clean sparkling place with the most chilling pool and great coffee! Staff is one-of-a-kind, service beyond expectation. And.. one.. two... three steps... you're on the beach : ) The manager himself Avi Zarhi, made everything so great. Always available for the guests.

I arrived at the hotel in the evening. I approached the reception and said I have a reservation. I was not greeted by the receptionist, Shmuel, but I let it slide. The terrible thing was when I asked for an extra blanket (I knew that I needed one beforehand), he told me there is one in the closet in the room. I went to the room to find it was a single bed with a small blanket. The blanket that I found in the closet was from a rough material and smelled terrible. I went down to the reception and asked Shmuel for an extra blanket. Shmuel said he can not help me because he does not know where they put the blankets, and he does not have the key and will have to wait until the following day. I told him it is unacceptable. He said that the hotel has its limits and they can not provide everything! That was his answer for me asking for an extra blanket in a hotel room that I paid 1200 NIS a night! The next thing was that I asked for a quiet room. The room that I received turned to the main road, and I heard music from an unknown source. The thing is that the music was constant and was all night. In hindsight, I think it was from their pool area, and they did not turn it off. But I am not sure. I asked to change a room to the other direction, but I changed room only after three or four days. The manager always gave me different answers. I called her and asked if she has another room for me, she answered yes I have, only to find that she would call me an hour later to say she doesn't and that I have to wait another day. It was a horrible experience, poor customer service, and not proportional to the high price I paid.

This hotel was overbooked and switched me to another hotel without any advance notice. Both the new hotel and the Metropolitan charged me for the exact same dates and I had to ask for a refund. You will not be able to change any reservations during shabbat so I was stuck, and is still waiting to hear back from the reservation department. Book another hotel; NOT MUSE or METROPOLITAN. You may save a little money, but the headache is not worth chaos and disorganization.

Good hotel, good location, very nice & clean modern rooms. The receptionist was and took care of everything with a smile. The only thing which bugged was the sound- it seems the windows and door aren't quiality sound proof so every conversation at the hall / sound of buses / honks / yelling from the street are heard pretty clear inside the room

Will not let me check in a few hours before 3pm when I have to isolate after international arrival 11.00 am awaiting PCR results from airport. Insisting that I pay for another whole night so that I can check in a few hours early. Absolutely disgraceful.

We're a couple living in Tel Aviv and having had some hard nights due to construction works on the road near our house. One night we've just had enough and decided to go to a hotel, having read some good reviews about the Muse Hotel (a part of Metropolitan and just nearby). I wanted to make sure that the hotel can offer a quiet room facing the back, so I called and explained my situation, and was reassured that indeed a quiet room was available, and will be arranged for us. We've collected our stuff for the night, and within half an hour were at the hotel. Already on the way there we noticed that the road just near the hotel was open as well, and there were construction works happening at 23:00. Hoping that the windows are better there than in our home, we continued. After 23:00, the check in is through another hotel near by, where the staff was painfully slow, inattentive and not pleasant. Finally getting our key and entering the room, we were surprised to see how small it was - having ordered through booking.com, we expected to have a sofa in addition to the bed, but there was just a double bed and a toilet. The shower door didn't close all the way, making it hard to have a shower as the water was constantly getting out of the shower into the bathroom. The towels had big visible stains, and all in all, it was far from the "Boutique" experience we hoped for. But the biggest problem was the noise - with the windows closed , and the room facing he back, you could still very much head the roads neaby (two big roads - Ben Yehuda and Kaufman), and unfortunately the construction which was a few meters away, was unbearable. At 2:00 am we couldn't stay, so having taken our stuff we've passed through the reception. The sleepy receptionist didn't even apologize, saying that these things are out of their control and we're the first ones to complain (which is hard to believe as the walls are from paper, and the windows are extremely not sound proof). I am not even sure I'll be able to recuperate the price we paid for the breakfast of the next day - it remains to be seen - and any part of the horrendous sum we've paid. Yes, I agree that we were extremely unlucky - but having explained my situation to the hotel beforehard I would have appreciated them notifying us that there are works just downstairs. And they've surely known as these constructions are obliged to notify all the surrounding houses/businesses. I feel disappointed to the core, disgusted, and horrified with this level of unprofessional service in Tel Aviv. I would recommend you to never go near this hotel, especially if you're on the sensitive side as sleeper. I cannot imagine how it feels to sleep in rooms that face the front. My worst experience in Tel Aviv, as a Tel Avivian!

This hotel does not issue refunds under any circumstance. Do NOT book with a third party. Metropolitan will not release the funds under any circumstance. Very old, very dirty, rude staff. Do not book here.

very very old building (peeled off paints & rusty steel everywhere). I have smelled something like mould. Carpet is very old ,ugly & smelly. Toilet is also smelly. They have put on a strong airfreshner to conceal those smells . I saw no smile on staff faces. Location is close to the beach. Food is average. Airconditioning is central (in room control inoperative). Minibar is noisy. TV is tiny

Hotel Metropolitan is really run by professionals. I don't know how they manage to coordinate so many tour groups constantly coming through, but they really do... all public and private spaces are spotlessly clean, the staff are friendly and competent, and even the breakfast is run like clockwork. This place isn't super-fancy, but it's comfortable, clean and reliable. Very impressive.

Friendly and helpful staff. Helped to secure myself a room quickly since my flight landed earlier than expected, and check in wasn’t for another 5 hours. Handed us coffee in the morning face to face aswell. Mr. Ahmad night manager was a dime!! Helped us a ton. Ton of amenities and services.

I spent a week at The Metropolitan Hotel and really enjoyed this beautiful place. My room was clean and cozy and had everything I needed to spend a week in Israel. All crew members of Metropolitan Hotel are super friendly and supportive, if I had any questions they were eager to help me without any hesitations, the food was good. I highly recommend Metropolitan Hotel it's a great place to stay in when traveling in Israel!

We spent a one night at the hotel for the second time. The hotel location is very good close to Tel-Aviv beach and excellent place to relax and do your exercise and just up to 15 min walk from Rotshield St. and less from that to Carmel market. These places are fully loaded with pubs & restaurants allowing you to enjoy of a city that doesn't go to sleep.

Very good hotel in a perfect location of Tel Aviv at a great price. Rooms were clean with a good view, breakfast and dinner delicious, very close to the beach with clean beach towels to borrow everyday. When it was windy we used the pool which was the perfect alternative location to relax with a book in the afternoon. I would definitely stay there again, it has everything one could need!
