Stella Maris Monastery is one of the main attractions of the city of Haifa. It's a very old pilgrimage center, with historical and religious back ground. .A beautiful and holy place. Close to the church is one of the best place to sea the Haifa bay..

It's a beautiful church with paintings on the ceiling. Serene and peaceful atmosphere that is before the tourist crowd comes in. A prayerful place to worship the Lord. Ample parking space is available. Good view of the Haifa bay on the opposite side of the church. Worth a visit.

The Stella Maris Church is a beautiful structure, its interior walls covered with white marble panels so bright and well placed, that visitors sometimes think the walls have been painted. The dome, decorated by the Maltese Carmelite Luigi Poggi (1924-1928), depicts episodes from the Bible, the most distinct being the scene of Prophet Elijah ascending to Heaven in a chariot of fire. The statue of the Virgin Mary placed at the center of the main altar, standing on a pedestal carved from a cedar of Lebanon, is devoutly venerated by the local Christians.

We took the cable car to the monastery. Bring that I’m not of that faith, may be why I wasn’t be very impressed. However, I’ve been to many churches in Israel and there are much better places with significant religious meaning to visit in Israel. This was a small church with a little alcove. You only need about 2 minutes inside to see it. It is an active church so you must be quiet while inside.

Beautiful monastery featuring Elijah’s cave, though it is a bit small. Would be nice to have some more descriptions about the significance Also worth noting that one should take a visit to Shimon Perez lookout point for an aerial view of Haifa since it is just around the corner

Very nice and quite. The only fault is the closure between 12 and 15

Technically, the monastery is out of bounds to visitors. It would be more accurate to reference the church as a separate location apart from the monastery, as Stella Maris Church or Minor Basilica. Visitors/pilgrims are also requested not to visit during the times when Holy Mass is being celebrated, unless they intend to stay for the whole duration. This is especially so on Sundays when there are Masses at 8 am (in Arabic) and 9 am (in English).

Nice little chapel with magnificent art on the walls and on the ceilings. The monastery itself cannot be visitied (by normal visitors/tourist). The view over the bay of Haifa is astonishing (you can see as far as Lebanon if the weather is good) and worth a trip even if you are not interested in chapels.

Quiet, and special place for christians. It closes at noon and inside there was renovation going on so I could only see the alter. Not much to see as an attraction but it was meaningful to visit and there is a beautiful (but locked) holy family chapel nearby (quite a climbing 🧗‍♀️up back after visiting). The unexpected joy is the view. The ocean and big ships 🚢 and the city view are all stunning.

Beautiful monastery on the Carmel mountain. The church area is open for a visit. Very beautiful paints. Look on the visit hours. No admission. Have pay toilets. Parking around is free.

It is a historically significant place inside which a cave is located which is called the cave of Elijah. The inside of the monastery is beautifully painted. It is located very near to the sea and if you cross the road and walk for 5 mins opposite the monastery, you can come across a beautiful view of the Mediterranean sea.

Pretty Latin church and complex with a great view. For hikers: There is also generally a trail down to a little chapel and Elijah's Cave.. being repaired while we were there. (The trail is not for older people or those prone to fall.) Luckily, the crypt of the church is itself a small version of Elijah's Cave. :-)

A very beautiful place and fun to be there. There is silence, there is a feeling of security, and there is a feeling of Christianity.

A beautiful place with a look out into the bay of Haifa. Can see all the way to the Lebanese border at Rosh Hanikra. The cable car from Bat Galim can take you up here or simply drive up and park free. Lots of good choices of restaurants with great views.

A must go. Excellent place to pray, ancient and touching. Tiny but beautifully carved into the rock of the mountain. Beautiful serene presence of divine feminine. It's a MUST GO, even if u don't believe in Christianity, the place has very very healing energies.

Very beautiful monastery. We had a very nice experience over there. We went to the souvenir shop. The man behind the cashier was very rude to us and got loud. He ruined our experience at the beautiful monastery which makes it a little less nice.

Another impressive Catholic christian monastery for carmelites. The main church inside the monastery contains the cave of Elijah. Beautiful and peaceful place. Outside the church is a souvenir shop for tourists.

The public access site is currently under maintenance, unless you're supper religious there is next to nothing to do there. There are some pretty good Christian art near the main entrance that at the time of this review (26/11/22) is blocked by scaffolding.

Monastery is very specific: Middle-Eastern outside, European inside. Has its own parking across the street with a few scenic views around.

It is a small church at the entrance to the monastery. Church is beautiful but couldn't enter the monastery hence it is a 2 minute visite. It us a serene place to pray, other than that not very interesting.

Good for a single visit. Its a small and similar type church of any small settlement found in every city. Outside of the church, there is a nice view of haifa port, bat galim beach. You can watch the sunset from here.
