Gorgeous lake with a calming ambience. We took a pedal boat available for €8 half an hour. We enjoyed the lake and the views surrounding it were breathtaking. We ate some delicious food in a restaurant nearby. Plenty of parking spots available around the lake.

A beautiful place to walk around! We went here 2 days. The first day was in the afternoon, which was VERY BUSY! Many people and the heat at that moment was insane so we left quickly. But the next day we went in the morning, there were no people (around 8am) and we walked around this water, it was beautiful! Better then I could imagine!

If you have 1-2 hours spare, you should walk through Zauberwald. It is an easy trail. More importantly, I believe you can enjoy a more amazing view of Hintersee from Zauberwald

Very nice place to visit, Roming in trees, 🌲 enjoying mountain view, boating in see. Refreshing. There is a bus from Berchtesgaden to Hintersee bus number 846, make sure to check the bus timings becouse frequency is very less ( most of the time hourly one bus)

Stunning!!! It is really worth de visit! I was tired of visiting castles and churches and visiting this area was a different option.

Cute little lake at the feet of the Alps. It's a nice area for hiking and enjoying the scenery. Photography wise it's also good though I prefer more impressive areas. The stone in the lake seems to attract many tourists and amateur photographers recently, so beware of crowds.

A beautiful small lake and hiking trails. Rock formations with trees growing on them in middle of the lake can be found on one side where boat rental is location. Suggest taking a boat out to lake to be able to see it at all.

Loved this place. extremely beautiful and also there is a walking/hiking path alongside the lake with not much elevation that is easy for everyone to go. also don't miss the boat riding. it was amazing.

Difficult to find parking lot in the peak time even though there are 3 or more parking space around the lake. In winter the lake will be frozen and it's just an awesome view with the mountain backdrop. It's easily accessible with the kids pram/bassinet around the lake. Few Cafés are also there to enjoy german cakes/coffee or beer.
