We followed the Michelin guide and loved each dish. Highly recommend their mango sticky rice and the and spicy Tom yum soup, both very flavorful. The stewed pork and the fried egg might be too oily for some people, but also worth a try. We arrived for late lunch without a wait time but the restaurant seemed to almost always be full while we were dining.

Would highly recommend this place as this was one of the few places that are open for late lunch. If you are planning to come here on a weekend, would suggest booking a table as it can get very busy. The food is rich in flavour and not as expensive as you would imagine it to be. Still confused if mango sticky rice is a main or dessert.

The crab curry is a must try! It’s really nice and creamy, soft crab pieces in their with nice noodles. And the pad Thai was also amazing. The only not so good dish we tried is the salt and pepper squid- too greasy and chewy. And everything so very cheap, but only cash place!

First of all, to the reviews complaining about the staff/ customer service - you do not come to Thailand for customer service. You come for the food. That being said, the customer service was not at all bad. All of the dishes we ordered were delicious. The price was fair - especially considering the fact that this is a Michelin star restaurant. The restaurant has cute vintage decor and is clean. We visited in the early afternoon and did not have to wait more than 10 minutes for a table. Highly recommend during a trip to old town.

Do not specifically plan a trip for a meal at this restaurant. Not worth the hype. Price is reasonable compared to other restaurant charging exorbitant prices for tourist. Note that the restaurant does not accept credit cards. CASH ONLY. Not align to what is stated in Google. Good: Deep fried pork with salt (nothing spectacular but taste nice) Bad: Morning Glory with shrimp paste. Stalk are as large as last finger, hard to chew. don't serve young shoots. Below average: Small portion of Brocolli with prawns.

Solid Thai food. Everything we ordered were delicious. The banana leaves wrapped fish paste were so good! Yellow curry with crab was yummy but it’s real spicy. Pork belly was good too. Would return!

Absolutely amazing! When I ordered a coconut water I was not expecting a whole fresh coconut. The chicken and coconut milk soup was delicious and when I said spicy they listened! There was a server standing at attention in each room anticipating what you need next. The service and the food could not have been better. Dig the eclectic clocks and old TVs decore too....the place has a style all of its own although I am at a loss of what to call it. Ageless. classic. Quality.

This is an amazing restaurant, perfect taste and amazing good service which is very characteristic of Thailand. This is the best Thai food I have had in this visit. I can see why they have been getting Michelin stars for 4 years in a row. Don’t miss it!

Excellent, authentic Thai restaurant in the heart of Old Phuket Town. We went on the back of all the positive reviews and we were not disappointed. Their signature dish : fresh crab meat yellow curry in a coconut sauce was delicious! There are dishes to suit every desire : seafood, meat, pork and vegetarian. The Thai salads were also excellent. Highly recommend!

A must visit! This place lives up to its Michelin recommendation - there is a delicious selection of authentic Thai dishes with a generous amount of spice, scents and flavours. Service does get a bit busy and food may take a little longer to arrive as waiters get loaded with everyone's orders - do come earlier to beat the line.

Spicy Tom Yum soup and delicious spring rolls and other dishes. Cool decor with exposed brick and vintage TVs & Radios. Reasonably priced, about THB1100. Recommend to try if you want tasty Thai food!

Atmosphere is like an old Siam Cafe. Time literally stands still here. Comfortable seating on retro tables, perhaps the original ones from when this place opened. Service was OK, not overwhelmingly warm, but efficient and chill. The food was great. The Kai tiao goong was so nice and crispy. The crab curry really delivered, with tons of crab meat, very generous and appreciated. The menu offered lots of choices at decent prices. Overall cleanliness was good and washrooms were fine. Good for families, friends and couples What's special/unique about this restaurant is the retro look and feel, and of course the food.

One Chun aka Monday has an old school retro vibe. Dishes offered are quite similar to Raya Thai. We ordered their signature crab yellow curry (THB370), deep fried pork w/ salt (THB150), stir fried Thai Veggies (Pok Meang) w/ egg & dried shrimp (THB165). Pok Meang veggies were ridiculously good! The addition of fried dried shrimps really added flavour, crunch & wok hei to this local veggie dish. Yellow curry crab was legit with a rich coconut & spicy taste. And that deep fried pork was just legendary. Close call w/ Raya I must say. So hard to choose between these 2 legendary institutions. Thai cooking at their finest.

Recommend! All the food are best especially crab curry. Must try. Better to be here a bit early before the place getting crowded. For those who with a car or scooter, recommend to park in the temple near by and walk here. You life will be easier.

Totally loving the nostalgic vibe that this place is having. Since going there on saturday night, the place is quite packed. So be sure to come a bit early to avoid waiting. This is a Michelin recommended resto for many years now. Tried out some of their top selling menu, Fried Snapper in Fish Sauce, Crispy Omelet with Prawn, Stir Fry Pork Basil with Steamed Rice. All tastes really delicious and the portion is hefty too. Also tried out the Fried Tofu with Chili Garlic. But unfortunately it was not our favourite since it is under seasoned and has a slight burnt taste too. For the drinks got the Lemon Tea and Plum Soda which are super! All and all it was a pleasant experience and will definitely comeback for more.

All of what we ordered were simply 10 out of 10 with the yellow curry with crabmeat being the standout. I’d be going along with thousands of high reviews on this restaurant. I had very limited time with Phuket and i have absolutely no regrets deciding to have lunch here. Only downside would be that if you come here at 12 noon it would already be packed. Make sure to come early.

I went there with my grandmother and it seemed to be a popular southern restaurant. The restaurant was well decorated like stepping back in time 40-50 years. The taste was very original but warning is very hot and spicy. The rice noodle with crab curry and local Phuket pork stew (หมูฮ้อง) is a must (not spicy but insanely delicious). I highly recommended this place but bear in mind if you are not good with spicy just tell them no spicy or very very little spicy.

Authentic Thai food, tasty but a bit pricy. 4 stars because the food was actually good. Otherwise it would’ve have been 3 stars due to the poor staff. They brought some of the food cold and we had to wait for a long time for them to bring everything out. It also feels like they are trying to rush you out and make room for other people .

Overall, great Thai food with very bright flavors, which I loved. We went just before the dinner rush so there was plenty of tables. As usual, most of the dishes can get quite spicy but that's part of the flavor so if you can endure the heat, it's worth it. It can get pricey compared to the local restaurants so be prepared for that. Food: 9/10 Service: 6/10 Vibes: 6/10 Value: 7/10

Lovely restaurant. If you're in town and have a large group then I would recommend it. They were out of a few dishes which was disappointing - no morning glory! Service was impeccable, food was delightful. My only slight criticism would be if the papaya salad had more papaya. The signature slow-cooked pork dish made all the other dishes irrelevant. I would just go back for that one dish.

If you want a taste of local Peranakan cuisine, come here. The food was good; we ordered the signature Stew black pepper pork, yellow curry crab and steamed prawn + fish paste wrapped in banana leaves (similar to Otak otak). The crab curry comes with vermicelli and we ordered a bowl of rice to go with the stew pork. The food is spicy, if your spice tolerance level is low, you might want to ask the waiter to tone it down. The portion is quite huge for the two of us and we didn’t have room for dessert. For drinks, we ordered coconut water; it’s sweet and fragrant but it’s not cold enough. The ice Thai milk tea provided some relief to our burning tongue. The interior is well decorated but the tables and chairs are dated. We came on a Monday at around 12.30pm and there is seat available for the two of us. As we leave, there are crowds building up at the waiting area at the foyer in the restaurant. The staff provided adequate service while we are there.

Highly recommended. Very light crispy omelette with crab, delicate crab meat with lemon sauce,... But the highlight for me was the braised belly pork. The flavor was just to die for. Word has gotten out about this place, so you may have to wait a bit, but it's well worth your time.

LOVED IT!!!! I had to go twice because the food was so good the first time. My favorite dish was the morning glory! It looks so simple, who would've thought that was going to be so good!! The atmosphere is very nice also. I recommend sitting on the first floor as it more nicely decorated!

We were recommended this restaurant on several blogs and by our taxi driver. With more than a few years of Michelin recommendations we thought all the hype must be true. Unfortunately it wasn't. I think covid must have hit this place hard, and Michelin didn't bother to check up for quality the past years. The food was okay, nothing more, nothing less. The yellow Crab curry stood out and didn't disappoint but also wouldn't be something I come back for. The restaurant is not very clean, with sticky tables and floors. The table was also worn through. The service was direct in pretty good English which was appreciated, but after ordering we were left on our own. If you want good Thai food, a foodcourt or stall might be a better more authentic choice.

When we came here 4 years ago, I rated this restaurant 3stars. When I came back today, th e food is so much better. The food is delicious. It comes in small serving so you can order a variety to try without worrying you can’t finish the food. Tom Yum Gong (clear) is spicy and authentic. Crab yellow curry is a must try. The crispy fried egg with crab meat is simply amazing! Price is very affordable. However the Restuarant is very crowded and waiting time is about 20mins. But worth the wait. I think the food here is better than Raya Thai. However, the restaurant does not take credit card!!!

The foooooood was amazing here, we tried couple of different places that had high reviews in Thailand and we were very disappointed but this place meets the reputation, the flavors will burst in your mouth. I loved the rustic vintage look the restaurant has, it looks like an old house that turned into a restaurant, it might be true, not sure! We ordered: 1) egg fried rice - I don’t think you can wrong with this anywhere 2) Yellow Curry with crabs - bit spicy but so delicious I will try it again for sure 3) Thai Green Curry with Tofu - it’s a traditional dish and I think it tastes the same everywhere; good taste of course Ambiance 4.5/5 Food 5/5 Drinks N/A Definitely coming back before leaving…

Came by around 1pm on a Sunday afternoon and had to wait around 10-15minutes for seats as we did not have reservation. Ordered some of the popular items and food came out pretty quickly. Everything was good and I would recommend trying everything ordered. I also like the old school rustic vibes interior, with many 70s relics lying around as deco. Damage came up to around 1500THB.

Absolutely delicious food- we had the crab curry and slow cooked pork ( both signature dishes) the crab curry is spicy and sweet at the same time and packs quite a punch. The pork is cooked to perfection and melts into your mouth. Best relished with a bowl of jasmine rice. Highly recommend a visit here. We came at around 5 pm and the place was busy but not packed .

If you're looking for authentic and delicious Thai food, this restaurant is a must-visit. The yellow crab curry was so flavorful and generous amount of crab meat. The crispy deep-fried morning glory was a unique and tasty side dish that I had never tried before. 2nd time to One Chun, the first time was in 2022. It’s definitely worth a visit if you are in Phuket Old Town and you would like to try local food! Saw some reviewed that their service was bad and portion was small. I honestly don’t think they had bad service but given that it’s a small restaurant and the crowd that they have, you can’t expect roll carpet service and to be honest you aren’t paying the price of roll carpet service either. With regards to the small portion I would think the size is just right so that you can try more dishes and given they are a Michelin restaurant I would think the price is reasonable! You should check out the Michelin ones in the mall and see if you still think they are still expensive!

Located along Old Town Phuket, this is hands down one of the best Thai restaurants around the area. We ordered a couple of dishes to share, and none of them disappointed. Key highlights included light crispy omelette with crab meat (doesn't taste like egg but it was so good), traditional steamed pork belly Phuket style, pineapple fried rice, and tom yum soup. Mango sticky rice was pretty normal in my opinion . Two downsides are (1) the restaurant only accepts cash and (2) the queue is long and the wait time may be long. Service staffs are overwhelmed so you have to be patient. Food wise though, solid 5/5.

  • 5/5 Mark D. 11 months ago on Google
This is an extremely busy restaurant. Had to wait 10 minutes to get a table. They had a separate waiting room inside for people. The menu has many options (including multiple crab and squid preparation) and the service was good. The food did take 30 to 40 minutes to reach, which was the only downside to the restaurant. It also did appear that many people were waiting a lot for their food. But once the food came, it was worth it. Extremely flavorful food. We had the crab curry from the recommendations, and they did customise penang curry to serve it with chicken. We also had the orange juice, which was nice. Would surely recommend this to anyone willing to wait a bit for their meal.

Coming from Australia, this was one of the first Michelin star venues I had visited. Absolutely delicious food. The yellow crab curry was hands down the best Asian curry I have ever had! Chunky and full of flavour. Everything was very affordable for the high quality of the food. They do only accept cash tho so be prepared :)

Great location just by the old town market on the main thalang street. It’s a cash only place. For food we had the Penang curry with chicken, green curry vegetarian and fish (forgot the name but was no. 7) Both curries were and fish was delicious. Place isn’t the cleanest and they took sometime (10min) to bring plates after serving the curries.

  • 3/5 Rae W. 8 months ago on Google
TLDR: Not worth the hype in my opinion. Period. Hmm…The food served was simply standard Thai fare, lacking any unique or remarkable qualities that would set it apart from other establishments. For anyone seeking an outstanding culinary adventure, this place is not the destination. One of the major disappointments of the evening was the excessive saltiness of certain dishes. Thai cuisine is known for its delicate balance of flavors, but the dishes were noticeably over-salted. Another frustrating aspect of the visit was the number of items that were sold out on the menu. It's understandable that some dishes may not be available due to high demand or seasonal ingredients, but the frequency with which items were unavailable was quite bothersome. While I appreciate that restaurants may occasionally face supply challenges, it is important for them to manage their inventory and update their menus accordingly. This lack of menu availability detracted from the overall enjoyment of the dining experience and left me feeling frustrated. Overall, my experience at this Thai restaurant was underwhelming. The food lacked the special touch that would make it memorable, some dishes were overly salty, and the limited menu availability was an inconvenience.

Wonderful place with delicious food! I had a recommendation to dine here from a local and it was completely worth it. I had the steamed fish and crab with curry and the deep fried tuna with salad and it was absolutely delicious! The staff also was very helpful and friendly. The price was very good, 480 bhat (c. €12) for the food plus two beers. I will definitely come back 😅

WOW!! What a treat! This is one of the best meals I’ve had in Thailand in the two weeks I’ve been here. We ordered the specialty pepper braised pork dish which is seriously the best pork dish I’ve ever had in my life. We are also not huge crab eaters but tried the crab in the lemon sauce and it knocked our socks off. The staff is so friendly and it’s a very cute restaurant. So delicious. A must-go!

A recommended Thai restaurant located in Phuket old town. Waiting not too long on lunch time, booking in advance is better. I order Yellow curry with crab meat, eating with rice noodles. Not too spicy, creamy and full of herbs. I recommend to order local menu, so impress with the tastes.

Before going to Simon, we came here to have authentic, fabulous and delicious Thai food. This is a Michelin recommendation restaurant and it (like Kin Dee) offers some yummy Thai dishes we never had before. The price is reasonable and the taste is unbeatable. There are a lot of old stuff such as clocks, furnitures displayed. Strongly recommend the curry crab dipping rice noodle.

A small restaurant with authentic Southern food. The pork stew and crab curry are certainly delicious as recommended by many prior visitors. The crab curry contains fresh cumin, therefore, you can experience this distinct scent...quite different from the similar I had in Bangkok. As tables are not far apart, it could get cramped with many people.

Very nice quality traditional Thai food taste. concentrate taste and delicious. The foods are clean, the price is average for restaurant. It's well known not only foreigners visit, but also popular among Thai people. Due to it popular, you may need to waiting the queue about 30 mins. No parking space for this restaurant.
