Have
stayed
twice
here.
Once
about
5
years
ago
and
now
again
and,
sadly,
standards
have
slipped
a
lot
in
this
time.
Put
simply,
the
hotel
needs
managing
better.
The
spa
and
pool
area
is
dated
and
is
open
to
the
public
for
membership,
meaning
the
pool
was
absolutely
heaving
(avoid
Wednesdays
in
particular
as
the
gym
members
are
allowed
to
bring
a
child
for
free
on
Wednesdays).
The
other
spa
facilities
were
lovely
but
in
need
of
some
renovation
and,
again,
very
very
busy.
After
reading
reviews
of
the
food
I'll
admit
to
not
eating
dinner
here
but
the
breakfast
experience
was
bordering
on
comical.
A
fifteen
minute
wait
to
sit
down
(even
after
you
are
told
you
must
choose
a
specific
time
to
arrive
for
breakfast),
only
a
cheap
buffet
style
breakfast
(the
kind
you
get
on
a
three
star
all-inclusive
holiday)
and
anything
you
ask
for
won't
arrive
(we
didn't
get
tea
and
coffee
the
first
morning).
Various
guests
getting
up
to
get
things
like
butter,
salt,
sugar,
etc,
that
you
would
expect
on
every
table,
laughing
between
each
other
about
how
bad
the
service
was
(waiters
were
polite
but
undertrained
and
there
seemed
to
be
no
real
management
of
what
was
going
on
in
the
dining
room).
The
front
of
house
is
run
very
well
and
the
hotel
is
very
clean
(except
the
outside
spa
area).
My
lower
review
is
based
on
the
fact
that
it
is
meant
to
be
a
five
star
hotel
(and
certainly
charges
as
one)
but
this
was
not
a
five
star
experience
in
any
way.
A
real
shame
as
it
has
clearly
gone
downhill
a
lot
since
my
last
visit.
I'll
be
choosing
a
different
hotel
in
our
next
visit
to
Bath.
