we visited this Restaurant during our Champagné Tour this year. Firstly we thought we had entered the wrong place? as the entrance area and Restaurant Bar looked like an Hotel lobby to us but it was the right Restaurant so we were right. We were nearly sitting the first 2h for our selves nobody was in the Restaurant besides us what feelt little bit strange to us as like we had booked a private dinning the Atmosphere was so quite that you could hearing a pin drop. The owners came some time and wellcomed us friendly with the daily Menu written on a big table Board in small handwritten frech letters unfortunatelly there was no ENG. Menu So we try to use Google to translated the Menu. I had a piece of meat Boeuf which was actually good with some vegetable on side. I would describe the dishes as very regular and basic cusine but with a good and fresh quality.
It was a great lunch! The boudin blanc tart was impressive and the chocolate profiteroles was to die force. Great service...
We had high expectations for this restaurant from previous reviews. It is beautiful inside with tremendous ambiance. However, their house brand champagne is a 3/5 at best. My wife ordered the flambe prawns and it arrived barely warm and was cold by the last bite any yet overcooked. My shredded duck was okay but probably the least tasty duck I have ever had. For both of us the best parts of the meal were the mashed potatoes on both of our plates and the entrees' presentation.
Don't worry if you're Vegeratian 🙂. Went on a double date there and wasn't sure I'd like it because of their limited menu and the fact that I wanted a vegetarian meal that evening (I'm pescatarian but have been eating fish almost every single night since I got here). The service was beyond anything else I've experienced in France (about 30-40 restaurants in all). When I mentioned that I was vegetarian, at first, she told me about the few vegetarian options they had, but then said she would also talk to the chef. She came back with a custom menu for me, letting me know what they could whip up with what they had available. I ended up with only a single menu item; everything else was custom and delicious. I'd say to not worry too much about if you have a specific diet that doesn't seem to be covered on their menu. Their chef probably has you covered.
Delicious food, friendly service from the owners who have meticulously rebuilt and restored the restaurant building.
Read carefully all the reviews. Everything was better than what the bad reviews say. We had the melon with ham, the foie gras, the sea bass, and the piece de boeuf. Everything was very good. Waitress was busy but got to every table easily. Decent french music. Soft. Drinks were good.
Visited for lunch - no reservation but made very welcome. Staff were lovely, food great (with some excellent suggestions from the staff). Good value for money. Well worth a visit especially if you want to escape the busy tourist parts!
The food was nothing short of AMAZING! So much so that my wife’s friend suggested that if the chef were single, she would love to bring him back to Australia with us! The server Tatiana had only been with the restaurant for a week, but she was so knowledgeable and friendly, and most importantly, spoke English. She made us feel very welcome and helped explain the different dishes to us. My wife had the sea bass, her friend a pork dish and I had the truffellated chicken breast. All SO good! Had these with a Moet & Chandon rose. Put us in a great frame of mind to celebrate Bastille Day with the locals. We loved the food so much we came back a second time!
Our experience at this restaurant was disappointing. While the staff initially seemed polite, their lack of attention to the customer experience quickly became apparent. The impressions created by the photos and the overall rating were completely misleading. The food fell far short of expectations. The ravioli were clearly reheated and soaked in a bland broth that tasted like something straight out of a packet. Overall, both the food and atmosphere were well below what we had hoped for. Unfortunately, I had trusted the photos and reviews before visiting. Afterward, I decided to read through the comments and the owner's responses. I was shocked! In my view, the owner's replies are often sarcastic and rude, revealing a lot about the standards of this establishment. Instead of addressing negative feedback with professionalism and a willingness to improve, the owner chooses to mock customers, which reflects a serious lack of respect and professionalism. I would suggest spending more time improving the quality of your food and service, and creating a welcoming environment for your guests. Negative reviews should be treated as opportunities for growth, not as excuses to insult customers. If you put the same effort into improving the dining experience as you do into writing sarcastic responses, you’d likely see fewer bad reviews and more satisfied customers. What do you think? Are you ready to take on that challenge?
The pictures on Google looked very appealing. And we were looking forward to our dinner. However, everything was literally disappointing. The decoration and the space are kitch. The service is very amateur (the lady spilled the wine all over the table while serving, a 60€ bottle was brought to the table opened, we were served the started without a plate to eat on etc etc..), I could go on. And finally, the food was a parody. The beef stake was stale, tasteless and of very poor quality. The duck was impossible to chew and tasteless. When (the owner?) came to our table very happily to ask how the experience was, I mumbled (ça va), because I could not express my disappointment in French, and the reply was “tres bien”. Overall, definitely not worth the 250€ for 4 ppl, I highly recommend you avoid this place. Thank you for the effort, but its insulting to French cuisine (I am not French).
Very good price/quality food. As Belgians, we like our food fresh and it certainly was fresh. Would recommend!
Just to make it clear this was the meanest place I’ve ever been to in France. If you are not from France, just don’t go because they are so cruel.
The staff was very friendly! However we are sorry that the overall experience was disappointing. The reasons are below, 1. Interior/ atmosphere/ seating arrangement - Classical french style, but not like what’s on the photos in google maps. - And there was a kid (from the staff) running around when we walked in, which we didn’t expect 😂 - The receptionist lady was very friendly, however she took us to a table that’s literally half meter from another couple, baring in mind there’s plenty of empty tables in the hall. We didn’t ask for changing seats cause we thought maybe the rest of tables were reserved. But we should have asked because there’s only one more table that got occupied for the rest of our staying, and it felt uncomfortable being so close to another couple while the dinning hall is pretty empty and quite. 2. Meal/Taste - Spring salad, see one of the photos we uploaded was a starter. It was ridiculously simple and tasteless, it just consisted of a couple of cucumbers/ uncooked slices of champions (we didn’t know raw champions are eatable..)/a few other things, and!! few drops of sauces that we couldn’t tell what it was, but what we were sure was that it was very little and tasteless 😂 We were really shocked, and it costs like 13 euros. - Salmon fillet. Please note that the photo attached doesn’t target the problematic salmon because I was shocked by the quality of the food again and my boyfriend asked to change that plate very soon. So the problem of the salmon was that the outer layer was so hard, the first bite I took was purely crunchy and very dry. I asked my bf to try it as well and to see if it’s normal 🤣( I was still self doubting if I was just being picky) but my bf started looking upset the second he put the salmon in his month, and asked the staff to change the plate immediately. The new plate of salmon fillet was then very tender and nice, thank you so much!! but one tip the sauce was way too little only in the small cup. In the first plate that return eventually had sauce underneath the salmon as well as extra sauce in the small cup. - The salad on the side of the main dish could have been more generous or more diverse. Not sure if it’s a general local thing, but we found it below standard.
On the evening of October 7, 2024, at 20:00, we arrived at this address by walking in the rain. However, there was no number 34 on this street (only numbers 32 and 36), and number 32 was completely dark inside. We asked several passersby, but they all said they didn't know about this restaurant here. The phone call was also unanswered, which was quite shocking! This restaurant should have been closed, but there was no indication on the official website and Google Maps. This is undoubtedly deceptive! If you are also preparing to go there like me, please be careful and don't be deceived like me!
