Visitors to Parc du Thabor will find a mix of French, English and Botanical garden styles🌼🌹🌸. The 10-hectare park was first established in 1610, though it was likely very different from the park that flora-lovers can stroll through today. After a rather turbulent history that involved the park getting turned over to the army 🪖 after the revolution, the park was reconstituted in the 19th Century and sections of the garden were established. Abstract: A nice park to visit and enjoy in your visit to Rennes. 👌🏻

Highlights include rose garden, dahlia garden and interesting tree species, such as sequoia. It’s a fantastic place to read a book or have a picnic, as there are many shaded, hidden corners, and a great place to bring kids, as there as exotic birds and a playground area.

A great park situated in the city. Many open spaces, walking paths, gardens, and even animals. The botanical garden is really nice. The Orangerie is a magnificent building. Excellent park for a picnic.

Beautiful park on the edge of the city. You can spend a short time to walk through or stop a while and enjoy the ambiance. We found plenty of seating available to enjoy our packed lunch in park after having enjoyed walking between the vast array of flora. If you in Rennes put it on your list to visit.

It is a park that you cannot step on grass on some particular area and you don't know because there is no sign or fence to protect the prohibited area unless some gardeners start yelling at you in front of people. It is nice and pleasant garden but you will break some regulations without even knowing. There is a very small sign to say 'trespassing is not allowed' ( as you can see in the picture i toook - it is no bigger than my foot ~24cms) very small and close to the ground. And from the pictures, you cannot see where it is not allowed to walk on. One side, yes. The opposite side, no. So to be fair, i really recommend you invest in some signs and FENCES to let us know where you dont want us to step on.

Loved it so much, so peaceful, quite a pleasure to come and relax and look at the birds. Also, loved the ping-pong tables, it's super fun to play table tennis outdoors, under the shade of the trees.

Absolutely the MOST beautiful park I have ever visited in my 60 years of life. I would not get tired of visiting this site, and I am sure that each season offers its specific beauty.

Schöner Park mit einem tollen Rosengarten, der seinen Namen verdient. Außerdem blühen im Moment ganz viele tolle Dahlien.

It's a very nice park with place for kids to play at and also a place with different breeds of chickens(I found that really interesting). But one thing about it is it gets really crowded during weekends. Over all a nice place to spend the day!

Wonderfully manicured gardens, and an aviary filled with the most beautiful birds. An oasis of peace, beauty and tranquillity.

I enjoy parks! And when you say the word Park, better to give it a value: indeed, this park is composed of several spots, including a nice garden with large fountains "Jardin à la Française", a Café, a botanical garden with a diversity of plants and flowers, each named after a celebrity, a playground for kids, a table tennis is also available, and so. The park can be done in like one or two hours, and you can choose your best spot within, then relax, and spend a couple of hours or the rest of your day; depending on how much you seek nature and relaxation.

First place to visit in Rennes, especially when the roses bloom. But there are flowers all year round there + magnificent trees + nice statues, marvellous views, fountains, even small waterfalls, lots of birds, wild or domestic, etc. Place to picnic and enjoy the sun in summer...

Beautiful park with a lot to see. The park has a mix of formal borders and arboretum. There is a bandstand with regular shows over the summer. A Japanese style pagoda birdhouse has cockatiels and lots of other birds while a farmyard area has chickens. Lots of interesting sculptures are dotted around the gardens. There is also a vegetable patch and rose and dahlia show beds.

Originally, the park was nothing more than a hill whose height was approximately 55 meters. The first mentions of Le Thabor date back to 1610. It was the Benedictine monks who named the mound in reference to Mount Tabor (Israel) mentioned in the Bible. The particularity of this park is that it has several gardens with different styles: a French garden, an English garden, an Orangerie and an important botanical garden. Every corner is beautiful, one of the most beautiful gardens I have visited so far in France.

Beautiful botanical garden, also has a play area for kids. Enjoyed our visit yesterday.

Wonderfully fun park. Close to where our residence was located, this venue features sprawling lawns, a decent playground for kids (which my little daughter stubbornly refused to leave...) and a big bird cage featuring specimens from all over the world. This was definitely my favourite feature. Only downside was the shocking state of the toilets in the park. Definitely worth visiting if you have a young child with too much energy ;)

This park has everything: a waterfall, grass fields, botanic gardens and animals. We visited this park on a sunny day and spent the whole afternoon picnicking there. It is lovely

It's such a beautiful place! We came here to do a Geocaching lab tour. Glad that we decided for doing it. The park is amazing. A must see being in Rennes.
