I
complaint
directly
with
the
management,
and
didn’t
even
get
an
answer.
Copying
verbatim
my
email
to
them:
I
would
like
to
tell
you
about
a
really
unpleasant
experience
I
had
at
your
Leblon
store
earlier
today.
I
believe
that
informing
the
management
of
these
type
of
situations
is
important
in
order
to
take
the
corrective
measures
for
any
business
to
thrive.
I
ordered
four
tapiocas
and
two
soft
drinks
for
myself
and
my
companion.
After
I
had
been
charged,
they
told
me
that
one
of
the
ingredients
for
that
tapioca
was
not
available.
This
was
fine
with
me,
but
in
this
case
I
decided
to
change
the
order
for
another
type
of
tapioca,
particularly
because
I
had
ordered
the
other
one
because
of
the
missing
ingredient
(pimento
biquinho).
Since
my
second
choice
of
tapioca
was
cheaper
than
the
one
I
had
already
paid
for,
the
man
behind
the
counter
offered
me
to
add
extra
ingredients
in
lieu
of
the
price
difference.
I
refused
and
said
I
would
prefer
the
difference
back;
although
they
did
return
the
extra
money
I
had
paid
for,
he
was
visibly
upset
and
rude
for
my
decision.
When
I
was
finishing
my
meal,
I
noticed
that
the
menu
offered
a
“combo”
for
nearly
40
reais
for
any
tapioca
and
a
drink
(so
in
my
case
it
would’ve
been
approximately
80
reais).
This
option
was
cheaper
than
what
I
was
charged
for
(90
reais,
please
see
the
attached
receipt).
I
complaint
about
this
because
even
though
I
did
not
ordered
the
“combo”,
I
believe
that
the
cashier
should’ve
pointed
out
that
option,
because
it
is
not
fair
that
I
had
to
pay
10
additional
reais
for
exactly
the
same
products
as
someone
ordering
the
combo.
They
refused
to
adjust
my
bill.
Both
situations
described
above
gave
me
the
sensation
that
I
was
being
fooled
or
cheated
to
pay
more,
perhaps
because
of
my
accent
and
the
fact
that
I’m
a
foreigner.
I
hope
that
is
not
the
case,
but
it’s
not
rare
to
feel
this
way
since
it
is
common
that
foreigners
are
often
charged
more
because
of
the
false
impression
that
they
have
more
money.
Although
not
directly
related
to
the
incident,
I
also
believe
they
were
not
courteous
at
all
since
I
walked
in
the
store:
not
a
smile,
not
a
“boa
tarde”,
despite
my
politeness
and
efforts
to
communicate
with
them
in
Portuguese.
This
led
me
to
believe
that
I
was
not
being
welcome
simply
for
speaking
Portuguese
with
an
accent,
as
there
was
no
other
evident
reason
for
their
lack
of
courteousness.
