Beware of a rip off as we experienced today. They are very polite and charmers. They will put small plates you did not order as you may think it is a gesture of the restaurant and they will bill you without mercy on being reckless. As to the fare it is ordinary Arab food nothing to write home about. The toilette if it deserved to be called so is horrendous. Ahhh you cannot wash your hand as this out-of-the restaurant washing facility they name toilette. Oh and another thing you will not be able to lock the toilet's door. It just don't have a lock. If you want to avoid smoking restaurants this one allows (though not legal) to smoke indoors.

A good hummus, but they tried to rip us off - charged 25 shekels for pickles and pitta (complimentary in every hummusia) and gave us falafel that we didn't order. So if you go there be ready to argue about how much you should really pay.

On the good side: Hummus was great. Reasonable: Babba ganush. Horrible: all the rest, including meats but especially the service. On the fifth time we asked for the bill - we got it. Only it was 46 shekels more than we expected (the owner did it with pen and paper in front of us). After we came back he was even arguing with us, and lied about the prices in the menu - only after we asked to see the menu he corrected himself ("ok, I might have been wrong"). Besides for that, service was completely careless, to the extent of being cynical sometimes. Would not come back and would not recommend. Almost forgot - the owners was smoking inside (which is illegal in Israel) while we entered, since the place was still empty. Yuck.

One of the best hummus in Israel! First of all, the homey attitude of Abu Michel is one of the reason I come back over and over again and only then the great taste of the hummus. Quiet and pleasant atmosphere, comfortable prices, you can packe your order if you in a rush. Located in the heart of the central bus station in Lod. If you've reached Lod, do not miss it.

20 years ago it was a nice place, now they definitely spoiled: dirty tables, 40 minutes waiting for the main course, burned meat, reheated pitas, but the price is still high. My last time there.

Small and simple place. Great msabaha precisely spiced salad and hot falafel balls. Good price and very friendly staff.

So good. Owner told us it was 20 NIS for a pita but then tried to keep the change from a 50 and acted confused when i was waiting for my change. Reading the reviews below, i definitely see this is a common thing. I did like the french fries and beets! Definitely a bit unique for a falafel place. Its near my workplace so I'll be back to try other foods.

Stay 'away! they rip you off by not offering you a menu and charging you outrageous prices. My son and I came in and ordered one plate of hummus with veggies, french fries, and one soda pop, and were told to pay 100 shekels. I refusled to pay that much and they dropped the price to 85 sheleks which is still at least dobule the price of what you would pay at a more touristy place. My advice - staiy awayi - go to the Shwarma place down the road, better prices, better service, honest owners.
