We stayed at the hotel for one night. Our room was built in a cave. After going up a lot of stairs we arrived at our room with a window view of the Loire river and the road. The room was comfortable, and not too noisy. We had breakfast in bed, brought by the very nice staff of Les Hautes Roches. The same staff member also served us at the restaurant and he was very nice. We also had dinner at the restaurant. The service was perfect and the staff was very nice. However, the food wasn’t as we expected for a four star restaurant. We did have a good time and good food though. The decoration of the food looked amazing.

The most welcoming staff and very helpful to all of our questions. Even in 105 degree weather, the rooms stayed cool and comfortable. Dinner was extremely well prepared and plated with care. Wait staff was very attentive, and a special shout out to the sommelier: amazing parings and on point with our taste but also different enough to challenge our pallet into liking something we haven’t tried before. Thank you to all of the staff!

Excellent in every way. One of us got ill and seriously needed medical help, the front desk staff helped with kindness and care. We had to miss the dinner. However, we will come back for sure. Thank you for everything. The caves are soooooo unique.

Review for the restaurant: The chef is talented and the food was excellent. Despite of that I feel obligated to give a bad review due to the completely inadequate service. We had to ask for water, wine, bread, and many other things... We also had many disobliged remarks such as: "You need to choose fast as the pastry chef needs some rest" even if we were not late. The waiter who served us the cheese could not describe them and was rationing us even if we took only 2 plates of cheese out of the 4 menus we had. Though, some of the waiters were nice and wanted to do good but were really missguided by the manager. It is a pity to have such exellent food and serve it with so low standards. I wish this review will make them realize it and they will soon change the service quality.

A very welcoming hotel in a beautiful location overlooking La Loire. The hotel is tastefully carved into the rocks and every room is uniquely decorated. Service was the highlight of the hotel, everyone is extremely kind, accommodating, and welcoming, and the food was delicious!

Stayed here one night whilst on our way further down South. Room was superb , an air conditioned cave during a really strong heatwave. Dinner was fantastic, but after we had finished the main course, nobody came to clear our table and offer us cheese/ desserts. So i complained about that. Next morning we had a sumptuous breakfast with the best ham i have ever tasted. Only issue for me was the amount of wasps about. Would def return. Location is amazing.

Quirky cave rooms carved into a towering rock face. But with more traditional rooms too if you prefer. Overlooking the Loire with a pleasure beach and lots of boats to watch. Dinner is quite adventurous, well presented and pleasantly surpringlyly decent portions. Not much to fault. Nice place to stop off. Not certain if it's a destination. As a town or hotel.

It’s a very charming and cozy hotel. The breakfast is a little expensive for my taste can be service both in the room or in the restaurant. The staff is also very friendly and always available to help.

Pleasant Hotel, but surprisingly noisy with lots of loud background noises in the hotel late at night. Rooms are spacious and have nice views. Clean bathrooms with separate shower and bath. Ample size pool too, which was a welcome surprise. If you're going to stay there and not more central such as Tours or Amboise then rent a car. Taxis are abhorrently expensive.

Remarkable place, especially the rooms that are built into the rock. The view to the river is fantastic. The dinner at the restaurant was an incredible culinary experience - highly recommended!

Pretty unique, but not quiet enough for a Relais & Chateau in my opinion. There’s a busy road between your view and the river. I guess it’s unavoidable under the circumstances. But I expect perfection from Relais & Chateau. This is a step below perfection.

Really enjoyed dinner looking out onto the Loire. Room in the cave was pretty cool and great location for visiting Marc bredif wine caves and château Moncontour

Beautiful hotel. We loved the experience of staying in a rock. The room, food and service were amazing. Great property with a view of the Loire River.

Wow what a unique experience, the food was delicious and service was very attentive & friendly. We were very happy to get a chance to speak with Chef Didier Edon, as well. The grounds were emaculate and the room in the cave was very cool!

We had a lovely night here. The cave room was large, charming and comfortable. Dinner came with a view, excellent service, and a very nice meal. Breakfast was excellent. But the staff made the difference. They were charming, pleasant and went the extra mile. I would perhaps only caution that staying in a cave (even a charming one) is a bit different than staying at Versailles. We had a delightful stay and have seldom stayed at a property that tried as hard to make sure we were happy.
