Karen Blixen is a beautiful place to escape the city's rush and take time to unwind. It gets a little cold in the evening but the jikos keep you warm through and through. The background music sets the atmosphere for a lovely evening conversation. The garden set up is also great for a stroll as you take in the lovely interior decor.

It’s sad to give such a beautiful space 3/5 . The service was questionable. Took the waiter about 20 min intervals to bring each drink (3 drinks). We ordered medium rare steak and mushed potatoes, it came fully well done and the mushed potatoes were chunky and dry. The pizza was 3/10. The salad was good though . The ambience is at least a 10/10 this space is just WOW!! They just need to work on the food menu and the service

There are so many pluses about the place. The service is great, the ambience is beautiful and all round, I enjoyed my time here on Saturday. GREAT cappuccino. But to the chef, as beautiful as the presentation was for the lemon pie, it was overwhelmingly sweet. I struggled with it, and for 1,200 a piece, it was a true disappointment. Lewis, my waiter for that period definitely saved the day with his very kind and hospitable demeanor. I will definitely be back, but no more desserts for me! Lol.

The place looks amazing but let’s discuss the 1600/- price tag on the cake slices. Popped into the place for an afternoon cup of tea and cake, we couldn’t believe the price. And worse still, the quality of the carrot cake wasn’t in the same time zone with the cost. To the management. Learn the meaning of this term “long term greedy”!!

Table by the pool, amazing service, the food was great. I opted for the buffet but my date had pork chops from the menu and the portion and taste was definitely worth the price. The buffet was nice but don't prefer it just choose from the menu. Tranquil.

The place is amazing and it has a very nice and peaceful ambience, perfect for solo dates, couple dates and you can also brinf your remote work with you. The waiters were very friendly and well informed. I had the ossobuco and it was very delicious. The menu also includes vegetarian dishes. I would definitely go back again.

The service at this restaurant was wonderful! I loved how upscale the environment felt. It was also warm and welcoming. I loved the variety of bread as an appetizer. I decided to try a burger here. It had so much potential but fell short. I was asked how I would like my burger to which I replied “well done”. When I received my burger it was pink in the middle. The server saw this for himself and was super understanding and took my burger back to be cooked longer. After it had been brought back I was super excited to eat being as though everyone in my party had already finished their food. When I took my first bite I saw that the burger was still undercooked. Instead of sending it back again I decided to take it home and cook it until well done for myself. I would dine here again however I won’t be trying another burger.

Lovely and well established atmosphere. Menu offers many varieties for many needs and cultures. Taste and attitude of service is high. Service is a bit slow but you indulge into the atmosphere during this waiting time.

We went to the karen blixen restaurant, we did not stay at the hotel. Beautiful location in a beautiful well kept garden. The food was good. Three of us ordered fish and chips and one of us a burger, both dishes although pricey they were good. Our biggest let down however was the service. Both dishes that we ordered came with French fries. There were four of us and they brought us 1 tiny sauce cup with ketchup barely enough for 1 person. Right away we requested for 2 more although you would think that for the price we paid for food we could each have our own. Then we spent our whole meal waiting for our ketchup to come and on 3 occasions we asked and even had to get up almost to the kitchen to ask again and again for ketchup. Finally by the time the ketchup arrived we were all basically done with our meals. Then we wanted to order more drinks but there were no waiters around to order from. Our waitress only came back quickly to bring us our bill. For such a high end restaurant the quality of service does not match in a place where they charge you 900 shillings for a scoop of ice cream, you would expect much better service. Unfortunately it's not the first time we encountered this issue here.

We were at the resturant around 11.40 AM this morning and took them half an hour to serve us drinks we ordered for. they then placed the menu on the table next to the swimming pool area where we were sitted and none of the waiter's wanted to serve us, there other white customers who were coming in and were followed by the waiter's to be servered. We waited for about one and half an hour but no service, not even our bill came to us i had to go and pay at the counter and complained the the manager all he had to say was we are sorry and yet was busy serving the Others and not interested in our complain and the cocktail was as good as water. I think the resturant is only ment for White's only 😡😡😡.

Food was ok, although already slightly cold when served and the pizza base was not really the same you would expect for example in Italy... I didn’t stay in cottages. I only wanted to review a restaurant . While visiting Nairobi that was my number 1 stop at all times untill I came here few weeks ago. I understand world wide inflation , we all go through it. We suffer even in economically progressive countries to keep up with bills and a lifestyle . Prices went up everywhere you go . But in this place it’s just became outrageous . They raised prices to serve the rich and famous in the West. Portions are ridiculously small and quality of food suffered. As an example of prices : vip of soup is 10$ US. Peace of chicken 20$ US.. etc. We stayed in Nairobi for 4 days and that was the most expensive portion of our trip out of rest of Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi and Zambia. Everywhere we went prices went through the roof but still not like in this restaurant . The saddest is that quality of food became very poor .

This place was actually quite nice, very quiet. But due to the fact that they gave me the most horrendous food poisoning I have ever had I have to give them a 1 star. I know it was the breakfast sausage because everyone ate the same bacon and eggs I did and I was the only one who ate the sausage. This was Thursday today us Sunday and my bowels are still recovering. Despite the fact that I enjoyed it here I will never return.

No brown bread where was the chef trained too busy to send someone to buy bread at the Grocery store . They waitress was amazing young lady .

Was a relay disappointing experience, First we arrived and the table we were given was dirty and the floor was super littered. The food wasn't excellent, I had the duck but it tasted off as if it was grey. Also the service was super slow and there were out of stock on most products. If they improved there service it would make a big difference.

We visited the restaurant for a pleasant outdoor buffet. The range of food was eclectic. I prefer salads and they had over eight different ones for me to choose from. A really nice place to treat yourself. Cost us$40 per person, reasonable for the quality. Only gripe was the gaudy artwork spread throughout the garden area for sale.

Friendly staff and security. The environment is so nice, chilled and relaxed. For a moment you completely forget you are in Nairobi. Restaurant is so nice and they serve delicious food which is served in good time. Actually it took less time than I expected. I have to mention the hotel is so clean and you feel extremely safe while here. My visit was made memorable by Gloria's welcoming charm and Winnie's a million dollars smile. Not to leave out Eric the security guard who helped me to park and was so good with directions. Highly recommended, I will definitely visit again and keep recommending. Asanteni Sana.

its located in Karen, very nice garden with 2 restaurant, we tried the one with Buffet, it was 7,000 KSH per person, with a large choices of foood, from 2 soups, different salads, live pasta cooking, barbeque, local and international food including different desserts. they have indoor and outdoor sitting place in which outdoor in yard is you have quite distance with others to have your privacy, the staff are also nice and always smiling. however in general the quality of food was average comparing to the high rate of buffet charge

Hi. Nice place to sit with family for cosy lunch. But a lot of things went not the right way. Beginning with the reservation, it was mismanaged, and service was terrible, very slow. Drinks took 46 minutes, and most of the drinks were wrong, not the ones asked for. I'm totally disappointed. Nice steak though

We went to the restaurant for coffee and cake. We expected something special - considering the prices higher than in most European traditional patisserie (a piece of cake is 1600,—). The service was friendly but very slow; and obviously bad or not trained at all and very inexperienced. We waited about 30 minutes for the coffee. Coffeepots were not clean - one had even red sauce on the outside so I asked for a replacement. We waited about 10 minutes more for the three pieces of different cakes. The presentation was nice (but not a wow effect). All three of us experienced a strange taste, nearly simultaneously. It was a taste of chlorine or some kind of cleaning product. You could even smell the chlorine. After we complained to our waitress, it took another 15 minutes until a head waiter came who apologised and told us that the manager would comes. This took another 5-10 minutes. He confirmed that the cake was not good and asked if we wanted to order something else which we denied. We asked for the invoice - another 10 minutes of wait. Instead of inviting us (considering that this chlorine could be harmful) they just took off the cake from the bill. The worst gastronomical experience of our 2.5 weeks in Kenya (and the most expensive too); on our last day before leaving home.

We had a corporate function at Karen Blixen Coffee Gardens in the Atrium. It is an amazing venue with warm and friendly people. The food was outstanding and well presented. Christine Nyawira was our event coordinator, she was unbelievable professional and helpful. The whole team was outstanding.
