A very good place to stay right on the beach with plenty of sunbeds.Rooms lovely and we'll equipped clean and airy Large swimming pool. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis, not many restaurants around but found a fish restaurant and a steak house both within 20 minutes walk . Did a stretch and yoga class both very good. Lovely place to relax with good walks along the beach and only 35 minutes from Cadiz, we did not visit as stayed in Seville for 3 nights before travelling to Rota by bus a hour and a half away.

Charming and cozy hotel on the seafront ( literally 30 seconds walking to the beach ), very familiar and without large numbers of rooms. One of the best location if you like the Bay of Cadiz. It is ideal to rest with your family combining pool and beach, and if you don‘t want to go to a mega-hotel on vacation with 100 pools with slides, night shows and lots of noise. The staff is very very friendly and they always try to make you feel good. Nothing spectacular, but simplicity always is the key.

We had a wonderful stay with a larger group of friends at this hotel. It is surrounded by beauty. The pool was incredible, our rooms were very comfortable, the restaurant was great, and the staff could not have been kinder.

What a friendly hotel. Great staff Lovely rooms - with patios. I loved my room: over looking the pool. I tried the the buffet evening meal and buffet breakfast. Very varied … quality food. Amazing location. Wonderful beach. And - there is a wooden walkway … right along the bays. I loved the hire bikes available .. I will return …..

Awesome little hotel by the playa 😮‍💨, loved how the rooms faced the pool. There are bird scooters just outside of the hotel which were super convenient for getting around town, as well as bike rentals. Staff all spoke English very well and were friendly. There’s a breakfast buffet that costs €15 that’s totally worth it, they have a huge selection and is really convenient. Also have a bar to grab a few drinks.

Last week we stayed for just one night in one of the renovated studio rooms with view on the swimming pool. The room is spacious, nicely decorated with 2 televisions! The bed was very comfortable with high quality cotton sheets. Breafast the next morning was amazing catering to all tastes. What we liked most is the friendliness of the staff. We felt like VIP.

Wonderful hotel in a perfect setting on the seafront. Excellent staff, comfortable rooms and good restaurants. We like it so much we go there for a week or more 3 times every year in April, June and September.

This is an amazing place to stay in Spain. Room was perfectly size and the staff were very friendly and helpful. They all are just amazing people. The locations was perfect, close to the beach and town centre. Restaurants are like a 5 minute walk away. If you decide not the eat hotel restaurant's. All of them were amazing places to eat. Highly recommended!!

Beautiful scenery! Beautiful beaches. Lots of sea glass! Everything is a walk away. Rent a bike, take a taxi, even walk on the beach all the way down town. Beautiful parks on both sides of the hotel. Breakfast was GREAT!

My only regret is not staying longer! Excellent service. The breakfast was nice, if not a little over priced (but all you can eat). Beautiful location right on the beach.

Wow just overwhelming in the nicest possible way Jaw dropping from the moment you arrive. The sheer beauty of the hotel at every point is maintained wonderfully. Staff are excellent and walk around saying goodday and hello and appear extremely happy even when very busy! We had a lovely conversation with one of the workers about the plants in the hotel and their names in Spanish. We were also given an excellent upgrade to accommodate my Mothers decreased mobility which is unfortunately is in decline this year. She felt safe, comfortable and relaxed the whole time she was a guest at the hotel. We loved Rota and the entire area is a stunningly clean town and beach. We felt every one is friendly, polite and there was strong sense of community in the town of Rota and a lot of respect shown to people and their elderly friends and relatives.

Beautiful beach club. Great place on the beach for a vacation. Multiple restaurants on site as well as restaurants, cafes and bars within easy walking distance. Well located in New Rota, out of the way of the major active areas, but close enough for easy access, without being stuck in the local traffic. 2.5 pools on site as well as the beach. Tanning areas, and a spa. Beautiful scenery in and outside of the beach club. The only downside I ran into is that the only laundry onsite charges by the garment and has no self service option. Overall I'd highly recommend this hotel for the great location.

We stayed in room 15 & the whole experience was wonderful. The hotel is away from the centre of town which I loved because I got to listen to the waves crashing at night. Along with being on the beachfront it is next door to a national park. We needed a relaxing holiday but there is a whole host of services that we didn't avail of. Enjoy your stay

Staff is always friendly and accommodating. Location is great. Food is great and a huge variety of choices. Drinks are pretty cheap too. Drink the sangria for sure. Location is perfect. 5 minutes from base but also on the beach. I always use them when I come here for work.

Been here 5 hours and already 5 stars. This place is amazing. Everything is beautiful; the pools, rooms, restaurants. Can't beat the price either. Loving it!

Fine for what it was, I guess. Mostly clean and quiet. No central heat. Found a radiator hidden behind the curtains cuz it was XOLD as hell in the room. No soap in my room for a shower. I brought my own just in case. Always do. Hair still in the tub. Turned the light switch in the bathroom on and it seemed like it had to warm up before actually turning on. No refrigerator. No furniture besides 2 twin beds. Eventually, I went to sleep in these comforter-like sleeping bags and slept pretty good by the radiator.

Would NEVER RECOMMEND a stay at this hotel. Stayed here for a few months. It is a lovely hotel but my room was broken into while I was out in town. The door to my room had failed and could be opened without a key. There are almost no cameras, 2 or 3 in total, in the entire resort and security is a big issue here. The burglar made off with thousands of euros worth of merchandise and the hotel manager decided they would not reimburse me for my belongings eventhough it was their security failings. Since there is no footage of anyone coming into my room or even in the area the police have done nothing to find the culprit. Don't expect traditional Spanish hospitality out of this place.

Hotel Playa de la Luz is great. Nice beach view and close to the waterfront. You'll be able to access most of nearby Rota and enjoy the city. Had a great time, though the room was a little smaller than anticipated, it was great nonetheless.

This hotel is heaven on Earth! So glad we discovered this Pearl! The location is magnificent: right along the beach with it's beautiful colours and light close to a very cosy village. The rooms are excellent: top notch quality furniture, quiet rooms, spic and span clean. The swimming pool has crystal clear water and the bars and restaurants serve delicious meals and drinks. The staff is just excellent: they are very friendly, speak several languages and treat you like a king. The management is very accessible and take the time for a personal meeting and make it their priority for the guests to have an excellent vacation. Stop looking: there is nothing as good or better than Hotel Playa de la Luz or the HACE-group!

I used to live across the street from this resort in the 90's, and it is still as wonderful as it was then. Beautiful views, located on the quite side of Rota. Excellent service and very comfortable rooms. The BEST showers you will ever find, seriously not joking. Clean pools and several lounge areas. Has breakfast and dinner buffet, plus a Cafe bar and second restaurant. We really enjoyed the breakfast and dinner buffet. Beach at low tide is incredible to explore, you can walk out pretty far in sneakers no problem. Walk to main squares via beach about 15 minutes. Get a room with an ocean view, absolutely worth it. Electric Kettle, coffee and fridge. This is the place to stay!

The hotel has a big pool area with bar. You can sit at the tables around the pool, on the couches at the bar or lie on the sun loungers on the gras. There is a small children's pool next to main pool. A second pool area exists, which is only available for age 16 and above and it has its own bar and comfortable beds. The beach has very fine sand and clean water. You can walk the beach to the centre of Rota. If you prefer walking in the shade, take the wooden walk through the pines. In the area directly near the hotel is not much going on. The terrace at the beach is reserved for hotel guests but each sun lounger costs 6 Euro per day. The stuff is very nice and helpful. The rooms were cleaned well - especially from the sand that we inevitably brought in every day. Still there was a smell in the bathroom every time we used water. Through our stay we didn't witness evening entertainment, except for Bingo at one day. There is a buffet restaurant, a restaurant at the pool and one at the sea. The food was okay, but we preferred to eat out (at the Cuban beach restaurant some hundred metres down the beach).
