I have greatly enjoyed this hotel and spa. The staff are very friendly and the accommodations are excellent. The pools and dining are quite kid friendly and there are plenty of children around the property. The bar and restaurant delivered great food and drinks and it was quite nice that the staff accommodated us with speaking English. The room I had was basic, however, comfortable and with a nice balcony overlooking the pools. The workout facility is a little limited but instead onto the boardwalk or beach for some exercise in the sun. All around this resort is not one to miss. I look forward to my next trip here.

Food was meh, my AC was broken and I had to fix it myself because maintenance never showed up. Decent water entertainment if you have kids but that's about it.

I would definitely not recomment this hotel. Dirty floors. Bad service. Really bad food. Cooks need to be fired. Ice cold pool. Etc

Great spacious room. I found out after the fact that the A/C doesn't fully turn on until you close the interior door. The pool is awesome and the beach is just beyond it. The buffet wasn't too good, but they had good flan.

This spa is very relaxing, and I really enjoyed the thermal circuit, and the ice pools were exactly what my legs needed after a good workout! Photos aren't allowed at this spa, but I'm sure you could view them on the website.

Terrible experience from reception staff. The people from the hotel are mostly Spanish which is nice but communication is a issue if you are coming from another country and don't speak the language. I asked for help from the hotel staff a number of times and the staff know nothing. No help at all. Laura is the only helpful one. I complained to the manager and said that one of your colleagues didn't help when I asked about any transfers, bus routes, things to do in the area, sites to visit etc. She simply said no and she doesn't know anything. The next day I saw a train ride outside the hotel so very frustrated to hear no-one at reception knew about this. I explained to the manager my frustration and he was rude and abrupt. All he kept said was, we are not a tourist company and I explained if someone is asking for help and advice in the area the staff should know. He didn't even say sorry despite me saying I'm unhappy with my stay. We booked though TUI (PLS DONT BOOK WITH THEM) and no reps came during our 7 day stay. The all inclusive option is ok but you don't get the nestle ice creams just 2 basic ice cream flavour pots (considering you pay a lot for all inclusive silly the nestle ice cream isn't included). Cakes are also not included. Location is nice, near the beach and all inclusive food is ok.

The room was clean, but there was a hole in my bathroom ceiling that leaked water. Couldn't change the heat in the room so it was pretty cold.

We booked this hotel as we where going to watch the motogp in Jerez so it was 25mins from the track, carhire definitely needed though, I will be back here, close to the beach, they have a great pool area and indoor pool and jacuzzi inside and outside, staff are very friendly and helpful, the buffet breakfast is spectacular to say the least, we stayed 5 nights here, I'd definitely recommend staying longer, small village but lovely area to explore 😀

No in-room wifi, the only good connection is in the lobby. besides the beach and a small strip mall about .5 miles away there is nothing near this area. No easy access to groceries either. The hotel buffet is extremely wasteful. Employees were always wonderful though, professional and often bi/tri lingual.

Sadly to say this hotel should NOT have 4 starts, not even 3. I reserved the Suit for my wedding and after multiple communication with management and reservation to request a room on the 3rd floor, it still didn't happen. Thinking the 2nd floor would be similar I came to find that the room smelled like sewage, sofas stained, wood had water damage and many elements in the closet broken and rotten. The room was so sad and outdated. The reception team is nice when nothing is wrong but when something is wrong they just fight you saying it's not their fault. Very unprofessional. We brought so many guests to this hotel and it was disappointing that they didn't make more of an effort for the Bride, on my special day. We wrote the manager multiple time but never received a response and now I am not allowed to review the hotel directly on their site. Save yourself the disappointment and reserve the other hotels near by such as Barcelo and Best Hotel Costa Ballena, you will be much happier.

For a course in Rota, with a colleague, I spent a week at the playabalena spa, only breakfast included. We checked in with Laura, a well-prepared and very professional girl, she immediately put us at ease, also allowing us to have breakfast at 07:00 (official opening time 08:00). All the hotel staff work with dedication to keeping the hotel facility clean at all times, as are the bar staff. On the day of departure Laura did her best to make us have a small breakfast at 03:45, before leaving at 04:00 and the colleague on the night shift, upon our arrival, immediately prepared the breakfast for us. I hope that the owner of the structure knows how lucky he is to have, in addition to Laura, a highly qualified and trained staff. Paolo Diana

Clean hotel rooms at a very good price. Great location near the beach and golf course. Lovely, helpful and kind staff. Take into consideration: buffet often serves cold food, outdoor pools are not heated.

It'a a nice hotel with comfy big beds. The area around the pool is good for relax...either in the pool or jacuzzi. The staff barely speak English and sometimes its difficult to communicate with them. It's a good idea to learn some basic word in Spanish(water, wine etc) so you can easily order in the restaurant. The ocean is near and you can be there for no time.

Just went here for lunch with my father, that was staying here. They loved the place. At lunch the food was very good, with freshly grilled fish, and a lot of variety. It lacked sliced fresh fruit and churros 😔

Although the reception speed could be improved, everything here was great. Nice and helpful employees, overall cleanliness (both inside and outside the rooms) along with some entertainment sessions throughout the day, like zumba and water polo. There is a good food selection to cater for everyone's taste. The two outside bars allow you to get a quick refreshment while you're enjoying the pools(although one tends to close earlier). In case you want to relax outside yet prefer the shade, you're in luck, as they have plenty of palm trees close to the swimming pools. All in all, a great location to chill out. Oh, and the beach is at about 2-300m from the hotel ;)

This place is a must if you travel to Cádiz or Rot for holidays. All three meals offer buffet and live cooking for frying things like bacon and eggs for breakfast and meat and fish for lunch and supper. The food is abundant and of utmost quality and taste. The waiting service as is the food allergen advice is outstanding. Most things are gluten free and they really make it easy to travel with coeliac kids because they offer you the same as any other client. The swimming pools are in great clean condition and the superior rooms with garden lead straight to the exterior pools which are incredibly fun. They allow pets and you can walk them outside on the premises (except the pool area). Will definitely come back as often as possible.

We had a great stay here. Staff was friendly, the rooms were clean and large, the whole hotel is nicely designed. Rather designed for families than party people. The breakfast buffet was nice, we once had dinner and were not convinced. Get yourself a rental car and explore the surroundings. The very nice beach is right behind the hotel. The hotel is located in an area near Rota, but only consists of hotels and some small restaurants and supermarkets.

Very good hotel with a big aqua park for the kids. The staff are so friendly. We enjoyed our stay.
