Staff very very friendly, nice location, nicely decorated hotel / mansion, had breakfast a la carte, queen size bed was very comfortable, only negative thing there were some spots that were not that clean in the bathroom and the floor is squeaky.

Average place... However with the kind of budget and location, it is still manageable. However if you want spacious rooms then avoid visiting here. The rooms are too small and if you want bigger rooms spend more and go somewhere else. The breakfast is also pretty average but connectivity is quite good. So overall trade-off

It was not as clean as I would expect it to be, but overall was ok. Reception was friendly. Location it's ok and parking places on the street in front of the hotel. The hotel has its own parking but a bit expensive I would say.

Clean rooms and toilets, housekeeping does a good job. The rooms include anything you need in a accommodation. Staff is very accommodating and friendly. Breakfast was always good. The hotel is located pretty central and and the price is reasonable. Been here my second time and I can recommend.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. Even though the room was quite small, it had all the amenities that you would expect at a 3 star hotel including a fridge, a coffee maker, a teapot, and a safe. The hotel staff was very friendly. The buffet breakfast was excellent. This is definitely a hotel that I can recommend.

Good business hotel in the city centre of Rotterdam, located 5min walk from EMC. Excellent transport connections and close to several nice diners and pubs. Breakfast was very good with a range spanning English to Continental breakfast. All items were high quality and there was sufficient space for guests throughout the morning rush hour. Rooms purposeful, importantly clean; good bed and black-out curtains. Despite location on big road, the rooms were quiet with traffic noise minimal. Recommended.

Very comfortable, spacious and beautiful room, friendly stuff and location close to the city centre. We stayed only one night, but we will definitely choose it again when in Rotterdam. The only problem was Renovation works, bit we were informed about it beforehand.

A very well managed boutique hotel The hotel is within the walking distance of all attractions in Rotterdam. We were greeted very warmly when we arrived at the hotel. Although the hotel is undergoing renovations, there was no noise to disturb us. The room we stayed in the first night was facing the road, so we were somewhat disturbed by the vehicle noise from the road. In the morning, I reported the situation to the receptionist,(whose name I learned was Saida) and asked for a room without road noise. She took care of us in an extremely friendly and warm manner and arranged us a larger and comfortable room at no extra charge. There is a coffee machine of high quality in the room, also a kettle for tea. The beds are very comfortable and sheets are very clean. Just maybe an overhaul of the bathrooms would be better. Breakfast was excellent. The breads served freshly baked and delicious. In addition, there was a wide variety of fresh products at the breakfast, all of which were very tasty. We stayed in this hotel for two days and we were very pleased. If we come to Rotterdam again, we will definitely come again to this hotel run by these friendly people. Thank you so much Saida :)

It's nice to stay in Hotel van Walsum. The room is just perfect when you are travel alone. The staff are friendly, helpful and courteous. I love their pastry that they serve while breakfast.

You do get what you pay for and as long as you understand that, you won't be disappointed staying here. We booked this hotel on points, however we still ended up paying $110 Euros for 2 nights. 60 Euros for 2 mornings of breakfasts for 2 people - not worth it. 40 Euros for 2 nights of parking and the rest in city taxes which can't be helped. If you are using the parking faculties, make sure the mirrors fold in and that you are driving a very small car otherwise you will not fit through the door. The room we stayed in was not pictured at all on the website - it was dingy, tired and very cramped. We couldn't get the safe to work at all. It also has thin walls and we could hear the people next door, although they weren't very loud. The one positive about this hotel is that the location worked for us.

Lovely hotel close to Rotterdam city centre. We stayed in room 2 and it was perfect. We loved the outdoor area that could be accessed directly from our room. Staff were all friendly and made us feel welcome. We had a lovely stay.

We were disappointed. We paid about 98euro (including breakfast) for a standard double room, but the room we got was different from the one in the photos from both the hotel official website and from bookings dot com. I think they do have rooms that are like the photos, it's just that we happened to get a worse one. Our room was small and old. The bed quality was quite good though, and the heater was functioning, thus the three stars. The hotel is 15 mins walk from Rotterdam Central. It was slightly confusing when the booklet in the room mentioned that checkout time on Sunday is 12 noon but the lady in the breakfast section insisted that it was 11am.

Good: refrigerator, safe deposit, bath tub, big room and bathroom, espresso machine with some free capsules, tee, etc. Good breakfast. Bad: cleaning service ends too early, around 12:00. Edit: 1 star down as the cool water from the pipes was made unavailable without warnings, I assume for maintenance. That means no toilet flush. And what if somebody was taking a shower?

Great rooms with all the essential amenities you could need. Great hotel location and very friendly and helpful personnel.
