Brand new stay in Grand Old quarter A lovely and swanky Mercure that comes with all creature comforts but at much lesser price than most luxury hotels in the region. LOCATION: Fantastic location at the heart of the old town! DINE + DRINK: Didnt have the chance to try the F & B ROOM: We stayed in Room 327, so this review is based on that; VIEW: Very sweet view of the old town street and cathedral from the corner ; SIZE: Very spacious room; AIR-CON: Perfectly functioning cooler that helped in setting the perfect room temperature; BED: Comfortable bed that played the expected part to put me to sleep; BATHROOM: Stand in shower; TOILETRIES: Good cosmetics by Mercure brand FACILITIES: A Joke of a Gym that was nothing more than 3 machines stuffed into a tiny room SERVICE: Friendly staff that took care of all our needs with a smile and made us feel pampered and well taken care of. HOW WIRED YOU WILL BE: Free high-speed Wi-Fi that works well all over the property. Big Plasma TV screen dishing out dozens of channels spanning sports, news, music, movies and a wide variety of entertainment in multiple languages

I've stayed here 3 times before and had a lovely room each time. Last week I stayed and was put in a "motel" type room. I did complain and was told the hotel was full. I think it's not acceptable for the window in the room to not open and the bathroom door lock not to function. It was clean but very dated. Check out was a more pleasant experience being offered a free breakfast but we had no time to take the offer, shame it wasn't offered when I originally complained. Had it been €80 instead of €160 I would have said it was acceptable....

Excellent hotel staffed by very helpful friendly people. Tucked away on a charming side street beside the cathedral. Delicious breakfast. Five stars.

Lovely hotel excellently situated near the historic centre especially the Cathedral. However finding the car park is a nightmare, lots of roads with electronic bollards, be sure to get an access code and specific directions from the hotel before driving into the city. Do NOT press the agent button on bollard, it connects directly to the police, they will not be pleased to hear from you!!

The location is amazing and the staff could not have been more friendly or helpful! We were dealing with a lost luggage situation and they were more than willing to help us communicate with the airline and delivery service to figure out what was going on. Exceeded my expectations for sure.

Great location near many Historic buildings and city history. Lots of restaurants and shopping close also. Staff were excellent. We enjoyed one of their pizzas in the Bar and it was lovely and reasonably priced. It's about a 15 minute walk to the railway and bus station.

Hotel and all location all fine but disturbed by the bowl of live goldfish on the reception desk. Round bowl, plastic plants and no oxygenation isn't the way to keep fish - they're not ornaments. There were also a number of plants around reception that looked to be struggling through lack of water - if you're going to have plants, look after them.

Although my room was OK, the bed was uncomfortable (mattress too hard). The staff were wonderful - friendly and helpful - and the best part of the experience. But the restaurant menu and food quality was extremely disappointing - not at all what I expected in a Mercure.

The hotel is very conveniently located, central to the historic town center. The room was comfortable and well supplied. The staff were all friendly and helpful.

Lovely experience. Hotel is very central to the old city which is beautiful. A lot of restaurants close by and easy access to shops, cathedrals and the Joan of Ark museum.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is a little tired looking in the hallways but the public areas and our room were nicely kept, with everything looking clean. The bed was a bit too hard but that is a personal preference, somebody else might find it very comfortable. The location cannot be beaten, it is around the corner from the cathedral, museum and restaurants.

Doesn't deserve the one star I am forced to give them - We booked a room for two nights; however, the hotel cancelled our reservation without notifying us as we didn't prepay. We received verbal confirmation from their sister hotel that All Accor hotels are able to do this, if the guests don't prepay for the room. This also means that there is no confirmation email sent to the guest. This Mercure hotel Cathedral did not notify us prior to cancelling our reservation. As a result, we were left scrambling got a place to stay during high season. Despite calling customer service support at All Accor, this hotel denied everything.

Excellent hotel in the prime location of the city. Literally it’s a 3 minute walk to sight seeing places. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The only suggestion is to use a compact car if you drive to the hotel. The parking garage is extremely small.

We have stayed here three times before. On each occasion, the room was very modern, clean and an extremely nice experience. We checked in at 6pm today for our 4th visit, but on arriving in our room were disappointed that whilst the room was clean, it was very dated and had clearly not been modernised like the ones we had previously stayed in. We paid 160 Euros for 1 night. When we mentioned this to the reception staff, their answer was that the hotel was full and there was nothing they could do about it (further commenting that the rack rate was 170 Euros, in other words, they were doing us a favour....!) We feel very disappointed - we choose Mercure hotels as they are generally of a high quality (reflected in the price), but unfortunately this time, that is not the case.

Upgraded to a classic double. Very basic for this type of hotel. No milk. Staff at desk seem not interested or will go the extra mile. More like a motel room. Use Mercure hotels weekly with work and this one was very basic. The only highlight was breakfast and location.

Excellent hotel, lovely staff perfect location and parking. Only one complaint- the beds are way too hard.

The check in and checking out experience was smooth. The room was clean and quiet. The breakfast was good too. The 4 stars is for the very slow service at the bar in the evening. It was a difficult experience with someone that was working alone and perhaps not very experienced. The car park is very very very small and narrow so bear that in mind when deciding where to park.

The staff wasn’t very understanding if you couldn’t converse in French. Sure the location is pretty great but the beds are uncomfortable, the elevator experience was horrible and the breakfast was absolutely terrible.

Great view for the room. Really nice town! Hotel located in a pedestrian area so it’s nice to walk around. Easy parking located under the hotel.

Nice hotel in the heart of the ancient part of Rouen. Nice staff, clean rooms. Perfect for visits. All main attractions are within a short footwalk.

It was ok, met expectations bur was nothing to wow you. No food included in our stay so couldn't comment, what let it down slightly was the bed was massively uncomfortable and there was no tea or coffee (only fruit tea in the room) which surprised me. What was also worse is the fact that all of the parking in Rouen is height restricted which nobody tells you and is extremely awkward to discuss with limited vocabulary, this meant the one car park we did find was a little out of the way and our car got broken in to! Obviously not the holes fault but a little more info on parking would be good.

Everything was perfect. All the reception personnel were professional and helpful. The room was clean and well air-conditioned. The hotel is located at the center of Rouen. My family stayed well at the hotel.

Stayed one night, comfortable and quiet hotel in the centre of town. Great breakfast. Only downside was the parking was full so we parked in the public car park. Rooms are also a little small.
