We had a beautiful (HOT) day in the garden and park. Fed the geese cheerios. Squirrels had some as well. It was a nice stop before the airport.

A very large park with so much to do. Rock gardens are awesome, greenery is awesome there. Sad to see how many trees have gotten damaged in storms we've had lately but VERY impressed with how quickly maintenance staff had been on top of the clean up. They take really good care of this wonderful landmark of Sacramento. Golf course and a Zoo are also in the vicinity and for the little ones there is also Fairytale town here and duck ponds and more! There is definitely something to do for people of any age and very pet friendly as well! One of the best parks in the city!

Beautiful. There is always parking available on the street. My go to place to feed the ducks. There are so many and they are comfortable with people. Lots of benches to sit around the water also.

This one of Sacramento's best parks. Love that the lowriders have events and cruise through here. Took my kids to see the damage from this last storm. Very sad to see these big trees down on the ground. I know the park and rec will have this cleaned up in no time. But was an interesting sight to see.

I love this place. Perfect for dog walking, taking the family out, having a picnic, or just to relax. There are SO many little animals like ducks, squirrels, and baby birds. And then there’s also geese and chickens! Sometimes you’ll even see baby ducklings! There’s plenty of shade so be sure to bring a blanket to lay out on. But if you don’t there’s a decent amount of benches. I’ve been there when it was about 92 outside but sitting in the shade made it feel like a cool 75 (it was lightly breezy tho). The bathrooms were a little bit if a jump scare tho lol. PS. Please don’t terrorize the animals by chasing them or throwing things at them :/ and also please bring a bag for your trash afterwards too, if you’re by the pond areas there are not many trash cans.

Peaceful. Has a golfing area, a pond and a playground for kids. The ducks and geese are friendly. Near by are food places, Starbucks and sac city college. The day I went the weather was nice so I had a picnic by the pound but the closer you get to the pound the more bird poop you see until you can sit.

Very busy but good, some cool new play structures except- Sherwood Forest gained ugh! woodchips and a "plastic" play structure even though it looks woodsy~ and the kids enjoy it ~ kids zipline there would've been cool~ pricey! When are they going to lessen the price for adults~ the only one we run on is the "crooked mile" lol ~ I remember taking my kids when they were little for like $3 , went this time as grandma! Grass for the animals should've been an upgrade & kids were asking "where's the mud" for the pigs? Right? One mom was saying the little pony & cow are "all alone" They all look well taken care of tho~

Recently I visited park to find the pond full of the water lily blooms. I'd would not believe the beautiful and captivating scenery in front of my eyes if I was not there in person. Not sure when this pond started to have water lilies growing in it but it's a delightful surprise gem. If you have not seen this pond, then I highly recommend you come check it out before the blooms wither away. There are still more buds to bloom so maybe another month or so to view them at their fullest?

This is a nice park...very big we had a hard time finding a parking spot, but that did not ruin our experience. We had a nice family gathering. The kids enjoyed themselves!!!!

New York has Central Park... San Francisco has Golden Gate Park... Well Sacramento being the capital city of California is fortunate to have "William Land Park" (a.k.a. Land Park). Owned and operated exclusively by the City of Sacramento, this 200+ acre park has served locals and tourists dating back to the late 1800's. It is situated in between I-5 and State Route 160 while major streets such as Land Park Dr., Sutterville Rd., Freeport Blvd., and 13th Ave. surround it. What makes this park a win-win is that in the several dozen times I have been here, it has never been crowded. You have more than enough ample space to relax by the man made lakes (where you can see ducks, swans, geese), go for a stroll or bike ride, enjoy a picnic (which include benches and BBQ pits), play frisbee, and enjoy the luscious landscaping that includes thousands of fresh flowers, shrubs, and willow trees. There is also a nice children's playground that includes monkey bars, swings, and slides. Parking is surprisingly easy to find on any given day and with the amount of trees here, this can provide a lot of shade on the hotter summer days. In addition to the leisure activities here, this park also includes a very generous golf course as well as three (3) soccer/rugby fields nearby. The park also offers basketball courts, a jogging path, six (6) softball fields, a wading pool, and a rock garden. One really big plus about this park is that it is within walking distance to the Sacramento Zoo, Fairytale Town, and Funderland (which offer carnival-type rides for young children). And best of all, public restrooms are located throughout the park as well as plenty of areas to dispose of your trash. For anyone that wishes to test their photography skills, this is definitely the park to do so. The lake also provides a beautiful scenic view that is great for engagement photos and other special occasions. I also feel that Sacramento has done a fair share of upkeep on this park to make it look welcoming for people that wish to visit on a regular basis. With that said and done, I am giving "William Land Park" a perfect five star rating.

Beautiful large park. With a giant pond full of lotus flowers. Zoo, fairytale town and another small amusement area are within walking distance. Small golf course is also an option here for the golfer in your life. Baseball field available and wide open grass areas. Wonderful family park.

This area of Sacramento is very pretty with such big and lush trees! We have been out here a few times over the past few years of living in California and each time we have come has been so much fun. There is always tons of people but there is also so much space throughout the area that you can’t not find a nice peaceful area. This last time we actually went out to do professional family portraits with a local artist and they were great! FYI to all the Sacramento photographers…our family loved having them done there. Here are several to share!! @jacnbeephotography

It's was a very pleasant day out, not overly crowded on a public holiday, Presidents Day. Parking however was very crowded and hard to find. We take our grandson so never stay more than three maybe four hours. We take it leisurely, see what we can.. the chimps, the lions, the flamingoes: his choice. We take the train ride, have something to eat, get an ice cream and we are ready to go home. The animatronic dinosaurs were nice to look at throughout the grounds. No lines to see them but our grandson preferred the live animals... orangutans and alligators. Although we saw the giraffes sadly there was no "encounter" to feed them when we were there today. And we didn't see a single tortoise. If you're staying through a meal time the cafe is very limited and the lines long and slow. My advice is take snacks and drinks with you.

Watch your step if you walk in the grass because some dips or sunken areas can surprise you. I saw a pretty solid rainbow at a fountain near the zoo but the wind blew the misty duck water on me from more than 30 feet away.

William Land Park is next to a golf course and has a lot of green space to picnic and relax by the pond. The pond has geese and ducks that are now used to being fed by people, so they will run up to you when you arrive. My favorite duck is a local Crested male that has a nice ball of feathers on his head.

We were here Sunday, and they are giving away mulch! They have mountains of the stuff! I can't fit enough into my Prius! Wish I had truck-friends! Check it out! You haul it. Looked like they had skip loaders to fill truck beds.

It's a big and beautiful area. There's water, ducks and lots of grass and trees. We had alot of fun walking around this big place, the kids enjoyed the ducks and squirrels too. It was very relaxing there.

I believe this park should be made more clean and more engaging. The sheep pen smells really bad and is being cleaned as visitors were sight seeing. If I hadn't left there immediately or had stayed there a little more time, I would have been bathed with water. Not going back there .

Great place to go on your daily walk! It is very peaceful and such a large area to just roam around and yet feel safe. My 16 y/o son and I make a point to go every other Sunday to walk and chat.
