I think this place is having a few teething problems as not been open very long. The place is spotlessly clean but there is all the positive I have. There was only small bottles of shampoo and body wash available, not even soap to wash your hands!! I had to complain. Breakfast was very poor. Very little choice, especially if you have any dietary restrictions. Just mini croissant, bit of fruit, ham or cheese, a yoghurt and cooked food if you ordered it. Hope you like tin peaches for breakfast!! Area is really rather noisy and I wouldn't recommend paying extra for a balcony. The only view I had was into other apartments! Very disappointing for a Mercure Hotel, having stayed in them in other locations

The stay at this hotel was great. Here is why: - Our room had a great sea view and a balcony, and air conditioning. - The internet was strong enough for a remote work, so there were never problems with the Internet. - The breakfast had a variety of local Maltese sweets and lots of food. - There is a pool on the roof and from here we could also see more of Malta. - The area of St.Julians is quite loud but we had no problems falling asleep. - Security was also pretty good. After 9 pm, the hotel doors are locked and the security personnel ask for a room and let you in. During the St.Patrick's day it was the same but earlier. I would say, that I felt safe in this hotel. - The personnel was super friendly. During our stay, my fiance had a birthday and they came by with a surprise: a birthday card from the hotel and a bottle of good wine. It was super sweet, we have not expected that. :) Highly recommended to stay in this hotel!

We booked their best tier room for a week travelling with a kid of 1.5 year. On the bright side the room was nice and it has a magnificent terrace with a beautiful view of the shore. Surprisingly the aircon was superb. Unfortunately that’s about all of the good things on this hotel. The front desk staff is a disaster. The don’t care nor willing to help you. We are platinum Accor members and none of our benefits were recognised at all. Upon arrival we were denied early checkin and needed to wait for another 3 hours for the apartment to be ready. The front desk staff also wanted to charge us for the late check out even though our status allows us to do this for free. The hotel was built in 2020 but already has some maintenance issues. In our room the toilet seat was broken and after handyman fixed it it was still broken. The bathroom in the room has no privacy as it’s all glass. It was hard to use the toiled in knowing that your wife and a kid can see what you are doing over there. Hotel charges 15 eur for breakfast but definitely it’s not worth it. Sweets are frozen sweets from local supermarket and there is no diversity in the dishes. For 30 EUR you can have a feast in the nearby cafes. It’s such a shame to observe a brand new hotel being such a mess. To be fully fair just want to mention we did meet 3 outstanding people working there (2 were working at the bar and one at the breakfast) and I thank them for sweetening our stay a little bit.

The rooms are very clean and neat. Rooftop pool is much smaller than what it looks like on the pics but is pretty nice. Reception staff however could be a bit friendlier.

One of the best places to stay in Malta. The hotel is centrally located, and there are plenty of restaurants around. Staff is very friendly and helpful. We had an HVAC issue in our room, but they were able to address it and promptly followed up. We also forgot to bring in a British style power outlet converter, but they were willing to loan us. Highly recommended.

Rooms are modern however they must have the old plumbing still installed. Our shower flooded multiple times and it took until our check-out morning (2 Night Stay) for it to be rectified which is unacceptable. Staff showed no care in offering a solution and it took multiple attempts to get a resolution. I wouldn't return.

Really nice rooms, great location. No complaints. The underground car park is a bit of a suicide mission if you meet somebody going the opposite direction. You need to back all the way out which isn’t easy as it’s not much wider than 1 car width.

Cannot go wrong with the Mercure St. Julian's. Good and clean rooms, friendly staff and tasty breakfast choices. Location is good in terms of being close to the busy streets of St. Julian's but this also means more noises at night. Overall a very good choice for your stay in Malta. Recommended

Wonderful experience, everyone at the hotel treated us so kindly... Rodrigo at reception gave us valuable information for visiting Malta and John at the bar was allways ready for our needs and questions. The Mercure is a great place to start your journey around Malta

We had an amazing experience, the staff were extremely nice and helpful, The service was the best ! Both the hotel and specifically our room were very clean, all the time. The breakfast was lovely. Located in a perfect area, near the bay, clubs and restaurants, with a supermarket just around the corner. The main bus line are 1 min walk from the hotel. Thank you Hotel Mercure for making us a pleasant stay ! We would defiantly come back once in Malta :)

I had a very positive stay at the Mercure hotel. Firstly on arrival we were greeted by the reception staff who did a speedy job of checking us in. We arrived much earlier than check in and were informed we would need to wait. The staff told us we could leave our luggage and go around however we were very tired as our flight was early and asked if we could stay in the reception area until our room was ready. Within 10-15 minutes the receptionist came over to let us know we could have our room early and they could see how tired we were so we were extremely grateful they let us check in early. Our room was spacious and clean however not the best view but we were fine with this as the location was perfect for us. We were close to the local bus stop as well as to the hop on hop off point, they’re both literally down the road. We were also close to shops and restaurants so this was very ideal for us. Through our stay our room was kept clean. One of the lifts was out of order which was a little inconvenient however the hotel did work as fast as they could to get this sorted and even left some biscuits and an apology letter in our room when it was sorted which was appreciated and a nice touch. Breakfast is pretty decent and includes everything you could need, full english, pastries (which are so tasty), fresh orange juice, tea, coffee, fresh fruits and cereal so theres something for everyone. All the staff were so helpful and in particular the lovely Rodrigo at reception. If you do stay at the hotel do ask for him as he is super helpful, he was the receptionist who checked us in early and throughout our stay answered all our questions, supported us on booking excursions, telling us if there was something special on on that particular day and giving us directions to places. Staff like Rodrigo are what makes a stay pleasant and he is definitely an asset to the team. I will be recommending this hotel to friends and family and if visiting again i will definitely be staying here.

Located in the heart of St. Julian's this is a great hotel to use as a base if you're visiting Malta. Driving directly from Luqa airport it takes about 25 minutes by car, perhaps a little less. It's only a few minutes walk down to either the Marina or St Julian's Bay, lovely for walks in the evening. It's also incredibly close to all sorts of different places to eat or get some shopping done. Parking is available at the hotel in the underground car park, it's a little tight but nothing too taxing if you're being careful. Rooms are a good size and seem to almost all have a little balcony to sit out on. Staff are very friendly and attentive, breakfast has a good selection on offer and was fair quality. Dinner as I understand is not always provided but they seem to have themed Dinners available now and then. Keep an eye out of this.

Pleasant hotel with a very friendly service from staff. Rooms are spacious and excellent shower. Great breakfast choice. Wish I could see anything better than a wall from the window and had a better scent when arrived. Great views from the rooftop though.

Great location, in middle of St Julians but far enough away to still enjoy a decent sleep. Bed and pillow were unfortunately not the most comfortable, shower was amazing, reception were so kind and helpful and even gave a birthday card and complimentary voucher for a drink in the bar - very thoughful touch.Rooms were modern and nice, housekeeping could do a little but better in the public hallways outside the rooms. Overall nice stay

I recently stayed at the Mercure St. Julian's Malta in February 2023, and overall, I had a positive experience. One of the standout features of this hotel is its location, which is in a prime spot that offers easy access to many of the area's attractions and amenities. The hotel's breakfast was also a highlight for me, as it provided a wide variety of delicious options to suit all tastes and preferences, especially the fresh orange juice which was a great way to start the day. Additionally, I found the pricing to be very reasonable, especially considering the quality of the hotel's accommodations and amenities. While there was one negative aspect of my stay - namely, that the room we were given had a connecting door to another room where a baby was crying throughout the night - this was obviously not the fault of the hotel or its occupants, and we were understanding of the situation. Overall, I would highly recommend the Mercure St. Julian's Malta to anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient place to stay in the area, and I look forward to returning in the future.

Very nice staff, great view from the balcony, comfortable rooms, almost perfect breakfast with a variety of freshes and smoothies. I’d recommend to take a room with a sea view if possible, as the view from the back side is not remarkable. Gym is quite small. Rooftop pool isn’t heated and closes quite early.

The Mercure has a nice location and the staff was very welcoming and extremely helpful. We are traveling by bicycle and we could comfortably store them at their parking garage. They surprised us with a room upgrade, so we could enjoy a balcony while being there. Also the rooms are very spacious and extremely tidy and even had a fridge in it. The breakfast had a good variety from full english breakfast, pastry, fresh fruits, salad and so on. Overall it couldn't be better! Thanks a lot for the nice stay!

A group trip for a birthday. The staff were very helpful in keeping the surprise elements and they also gave us some complimentary bottles of wine. They were also helpful before the stay. I had to change the reservation multiple times and there were no issues. They were able to accommodate the requests. The gym left a lot to be desired and we couldn't use the pool because it wasn't heated. Otherwise, no complaints

Mercure Hotel St Julian's review. Stayed here late October 2023 for seven nights. Hotel staff very friendly and professional, we were checked in within minutes. Lovely room, comfortable huge bed, and one of the best hotel bathrooms I have used. Large wet room shower, with overhead rainfall shower, excellent water pressure and limitless hot water. We paid upfront for breakfast each day in advance of the holiday. A plentiful buffet style breakfast, cooked bacon, sausage, eggs etc. Continental style breakfast also, with plenty of fruit juices. Two excellent fresh coffee machines, with a multitude of coffee options. Lovely roof top pool, although small we always found a couple of empty sunbeds to lay on. We got a bottle of complimentary red wine as it was my wife's birthday, a lovely touch to finish the holiday. The location of the hotel was very central to St Julian's. I wouldn't hesitate recommending this hotel to anybody staying in this lovely town.

The hotel is in a great location in St-Julian's, close to restaurants, grocery stores, bus stops, beaches... The hotel itself is really clean and comfortable, the staff is kind and courteous, it was very simple to check in and check out. When we arrived the room was not yet ready, the staff offered to keep our bags so we could go visit the town until the room would be ready. Loved my experience in Malta and I'm glad I chose to stay at the Mercure.

I am very pleased with my stay at the Mercure Hotel. The staff is extremely professional, helpful, kind, and informative. I enjoyed the amenities and the way staff members dealt with me. This includes the front desk staff, cafe team, breakfast team, and housekeeping. I was made to feel welcomed and I am very pleased with the efficiency, speed, and the way my queries and issues were dealt with. The food served at the breakfast buffet is delicious, adhering to international standards of a definition of an excellent intercontinental breakfast. Being a Muslim I cannot eat anything that is not halal or vegan or vegetarian friendly, considering this the chef at the breakfast buffet especially recommended I try the halal lamb sausage for which I am thankful. Also, the level of hygiene, cleanliness and bedding is up to the international marks and levels of Mercure Hotel as it maintains those high standards like the other Accor Hotels. I was treated with respect and honour.

Okay hotel. Breakfast was great considering my family are vegetarian. Hotel rooms are average, I thought we would have a bathtub as shown on all pictures on the website but we got a shower for my family of four. The rooftop pool is initially why we booked this hotel and the pool is ice cold, non heated pool which was such a shame for my children as we planned our 8 days of holiday to be relaxing in the pool and around the hotel. So we had to pay extra to use another hotels pool for 6 days which I found strange as I was paying for another facility when I had a pool in my own hotel. The view on the rooftop is great, staff are very kind. Room service is great as they clean everyday. All in all, it was a good experience however pool was a big downer in our holiday and the bathtub should be clarified and photos of shower should be shown on the website rather than bathtub so it doesn’t deceive customers.

Pros: - very smartly built and furnished - powerful showers - comfortable beds - quiet - great location close to lots of nice restaurants - free parking - smart TVs Cons: - the pool is tiny with very few places to sit, and is completely lacking in atmosphere - ditto bar - we always found a parking space, but I’d be surprised if there were enough when the hotel is full - tiny towels - only two lifts and we never found the stairs! - not much storage space in the rooms

the staffs of this hotel are full of passion. My wife and I spent a week in Malta and stayed at this hotel. We experience how nice of the staffs; we asked a staff about the gym room location during the breakfast time, even he just joined on board for 2 days and he didn't know it. We thought that it should be fine, and he come back to us for the answer after a moment. It is so appreciation for he help. Furthermore the arrangement in restaurant is really great regarding to the hygiene topic. Only 1 suggestion point about this hotel, it can put more decoration or furniture stuffs in the room, especially there is no shower gel holder in the shower room. I will check with my wife to see any other points.

My wife and I had a brilliant stay here. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the pool on the roof as well as our nice room with a large balcony and sea view was all we had hoped for. Thanks for making our stay such a pleasant experience.

Quality. Really enjoyed my stay here. Rooms are lovely and modern, staff friendly, the rooftop pool is awesome and the general location of the place is excellent. Would not hesitate to stay here again. Also for an extra bonus free car parking in the underground car park. Full marks

The hotel was amazing (and clean) and was located in a perfect area of Saint Julian which has several restaurants/bars on its doorstep. The hotel is also only one minute away from the bus stop if you want to get around like a local. I stayed in the room overlooking the bay view and the views were insane morning and night. The staff were very polite, helpful and accommodating. Julian in the breakfast buffet area was so nice and always happy. Emilie, Camilla and Diandra at reception were a great help during our stay and always made sure to meet our requests. Housekeeping woman was also very polite. In general it was a lovely experience and I would stay again in the same room.

Mercure hotel is such a beautiful hotel located in St.Julians. We stayed in a room facing the bay and the views were just incredible in the morning and at night. The hotel is pretty much central to a lot of things. Best part is that if you like to travel like the locals do, there a bus stop less than a minute away from the hotel. The staff are so helpful, special mention to Emile, Camilla and Julian who made our trip so easy. They were there to help whenever we needed any help. They gave really good recommendations when it comes to taxi and food services. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable

Stayed here for 4 nights recently and it was an excellent hotel. Rooms are modern, spotless and have wonderful views overlooking St Julian’s Bay. The bus spot to travel into Valletta is less than a minutes walk and there are plenty of bars and restaurants around. Rooftop pool is amazing also. Couldn’t fault the service or any part of this hotel.

This hotel was amazing. We attended a wedding in Malta and stayed here for 5 nights and we were treated like VIPs. The staff were excellent, the rooms were spotless and the location was amazing. Would highly recommend.

The staff were amazing. Two of them were exceptional. The morning supervisor. I forgot his name but he made sure ever guest was looked after. Always willing to give advice and tips on Malta. The other exceptional staff member was a young lady called Martyna, she was charming and extremely helpful. Location was perfect, close to all amenities and easy bus route to Valletta if needed.

Pros: good location, clean, nice staff, roof top pool Cons: less amenities. no soundproof at all. You can hear everything outside door and over the wall. Some people having party till night with loud music so that you may not have good sleep. Not recommend to family.

  • 2/5 Monique 1 year ago on Google
The hotel has a good location and everything is close, from small shops to clubs and restaurants. Although it has 4 stars, as a tourist I have complaints. The air conditioning in the lobby at the reception and in the dining room was increased so that when you come there, you get a shock. There is a very small swimming pool on the terrace of the hotel, and the number of guests is enorm that it cannot be enjoyed. The pool is 1 meter deep and the water was dirty and warm. The rooms are ok and the cleaners provide new towels and shampoo. The breakfast was not the best, sometimes neither the fruit nor the pastries were fresh. It is also fascinating that the seats in the dining room are not cleaned, it is always dirty wherever we want to sit. And the tables are not cleaned with disinfectant, which should be especially after the pandemic. The place where the hotel is located is very noisy, so don't expect rest and peaceful sleep.

Well what an amazing trip from start to finish. Hands down the best hotel we have ever stayed in. I was fortunate to have the privilege suite for a birthday treat and this did not disappoint! The view, the facilities, the location and the bath and shower were to die for, absolute heaven on earth. The staff were here extremely welcoming and accommodating, in particular Rodrigo who from the minute we walked in, was amazing, nothing was too much trouble for him. We were spoilt for choice at breakfast and the bottle of fizz and birthday card in my room was also a wonderful touch! We cannot wait to return for a longer stay. Malta and Mercure, you did not disappoint! Thank you so so much, definitely a birthday I will never forget!
