If you love food and history, this tour is a must. Our guide Janelle was kind and extremely knowledgeable. In addition to taking us to 2 restaurants, a street food vendor, a bakery and a marketplace and a dessert shop (you can imagine we were quite stuffed and happy by the end of the tour!), she explained historical events that have shaped Barbados and invaluable insights on the country’s cultural wealth.

My parents and I did a food walking tour with Lickrish while on holiday in Barbados. Our guide, Janelle, was knowledgeable and shared so much interesting history and info, and the food we tasted was all delicious. Highly recommend for an authentic intro to Bajan food! My personal highlight was the salt cod fishcakes.

What a lovely experience, right from the pickup by Robert, who is very well informed and gave us a guided tour on the way to Bridgetown. Our guide Paulette was excellent, well informed and happy to share her views on the history economy and politics of the island in a gentle easy way. 6 food or drink stops in authentic local restaurants and food market. The final stop at an ice cream factory was the icing on a very good cake!

We had a great “Original Bajan Walking Food Tour” with Paulette. Plenty of food served from a good variety of providers - from sit in restaurants to street vendors (we really shouldn’t have had breakfast beforehand!!). Interesting details about Bridgetown & more general Barbados provided during the walks between food stops. Thanks Paulette 😁

Our tour was led by Janelle, who was extremely knowledgable about the history of Barbados, Bridgetown and the food we were about to enjoy. We made several stops at eateries, street vendors finishing off with ice cream from a local producer. We sampled savoury, sweet, fruit and a really refreshing Sorrel drink. Don’t have breakfast as there is so much lovely local food to try. A definite five star experience.

A great combination of local food, culture and history. Definitely went to places and tasted foods we would not have otherwise seen. Our tour guide was Paulette and she was excellent.

I encourage everyone that visits Barbados to invest in being provided an educational and tasty experience by Lickrish Food Tours! The food, fresh juice (sorrel), ice cream (non-dairy, as it is made with coconut milk), dense desserts, fruit, and more were delectable! I want to save the best for last, the tour guide! Paulette provided an educational experience along our walking food tour. She presented as a plethora of knowledge about the history of the beautiful island. She presented as personable, humorous, and engaging with everyone in the group! My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed the tour! Please request Paulette, she is amazing! I would pay for the food tour again when I visit Barbados! I was so enamored by the experience that my kid took more food photos that myself!

I attended the Bajan Food Tour during my stay in Barbados and this was one of my favorite activities. Paulette was very knowledgeable and the food was tasty and filling. This tour is perfect for foodies and history/ culture lovers. I left with a full stomach and a deeper appreciation for caribbean food, culture and history. A great way to meet like minded travellers whilst sampling the local delights of Barbados with a historical tour of Bridgetown thrown in. Janelle was a font of knowledge on the social history of the island and made it a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Brilliant tour. We booked on a Saturday so got to try a Bajan Saturday tradition, Pudding & Souse. Our guide Janelle was brilliant, very knowledgeable on the history of Barbados and took us to places we otherwise wouldn’t have tried. Catered for dietary requirements brilliantly with advance notice (no gluten and lactose). I didn’t miss out on much, just 2 stops that offered no gluten free option so very pleased I checked and booked. Only one other couple on the tour so very easy to maintain social distancing.

This was an amazing experience and a great opportunity to explore some of the history behind the traditional dishes here in Barbados, along with history of Barbados itself. Janelle and Chris were indeed a pleasure to meet and were definately instrumental in making this a trip to remember.

Great time with our tour guide Paulette! Initially I didn’t know what to expect, thinking I would be bored but as it turned out I had a ball! Although some of the food choices weren’t my favs but the drinks were a hit! The Rum Sour & the RiRi was a hit. Paulette was very knowledgeable & fun, we had a great group & I loved our conversations! #BarbadosVacation

I had a great time!! As someone who used to live in Barbados, I believe I learnt more about the history of island from this tour than I ever did at school. Claudette, our tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly, and there was a great variety of tasty foods to enjoy. The tour is mostly outdoors and covers quiet a bit of Bridgetown, so be sure to where comfortable shoes. Overall, it was a great experience and if you are a fan of food tours, this will not disappoint.

Picked up by Richard from our hotel and driven down to the South where we met up with our guide Paulette and the other members of the party. Lovely food and drink, nice company and there was even a band. Ate pigs tails. Horrid taste washed away with nice cocktails! Paulette was wonderful, chatty and knowledgable while Richard even brought out a brolly when we were picked up in the rain. Very recommended experience.

Absolutely 💯 loved this tour - Sharri our guide was excellent very knowledgeable, the combination of food and history was up my street. Seven delightful food stops. I was stuffed by stop 6 that was food to go but I had space for ice cream at the last stop. I would definitely recommend this tour.
