After visiting, I am surprised that people don't say, "Hey, you must visit Glanum. There is a town called St. Remy near there too." Remarkable archeological site with excellent interpretation in French, Spanish and English. We got there on a Monday just as they opened and had the place nearly to ourselves. Definitely worth the short walk from the old part of town.

Interesting Roman ruins, €4 car park, €7 entry. Good audio guide available for €3 Takes about an hour to walk round, worth going up to viewpoint for panoramic view

A Roman city rediscovered after 17 centuries! A beautiful walk through the ruins with information boards throughout in French and English. Amazing history and such a privilege to be able to access this site. Parking is about 50 mtrs away. Entrance fees were 8€ per person, under 18 years free.

Seems free (except for parking) so, that's cool. Coming here in the hot summer day is quite uncomfortable...

While staying in Saint-Remy, we visited the site, which was a nice, small archeological site with a well maintained visitor center and remarkable ancient remains, definitely recommend for anyone in the area.

I enjoyed the visit even on this hot summer day. Nicely conserved historic site, audio guides and a nice little restaurant, bar. Very friendly people!

An absolutely wonderful site to visit. A Gallo-Greek then Gallo-Roman city, the scale of which is very impressive. There are clear information panels in English and French. All is well prepared and explained. Traveling with someone with mobility disability, the staff were friendly and helpful. Not everywhere can be explored by wheelchair but there are plenty of passable paths while walking some sections with crutches was possible.

Super cool ruins. I had a great time. There is a set of stairs you can hike up to get a great view of the entire ruins.

Very interesting site with remains from Celtic Iron Age, Greek influence and Roman. Sacred spring area particularly good and great to be able to see the site and surrounding area from the two panoramic viewpoint high up on the side of the gorge. The models and display boards in the ticket office explain the site very well.

Large well excavated celto-hellenic roman town. Plan 2-3 hours to fully explore this impressive site.

We were pressed for time and did a speed visit in 40 mins. The audio guide is great, I wish we had more time to enjoy it. Worth taking the audio guide. If you don’t take an audio guide there are still enough signboards and bits of information around for you to understand things. Don’t miss the view from the top of the hill!

Beautiful place !! The place is really well conserved (taking into consideration how old it is) Even without the audioguide, you can get a lot of information about how people used to live there. Awesome!

Very cool Gallo-Roman ruins, which once were a city founded on a natural spring. About a 25 min walk from Saint-Rémy center. Drink water while you’re out there - it got super hot!

Spoke on chat before I went on the visit. Chat is excellent questions answered quickly. Great site. Well worth a visit.

A must visit and recommend getting the audio guide. The findings and size of the site are high quality - just walking through, along the Main Street gives you a sense of how it must have been.. Lots of further information available in the shop. The treasures are stored in the Hotel Sade - which was closed for winter when we were here - would loved to have seen that!

Loads of information provided and the site is incredible to see. They also have an amazing viewpoint. You can see into Saint Remy de Provence, and all the way to the mts. The ruins are just vast!

One of the most unexpected and interesting sites in the South of France. We always bring visitors, and they are always blown away. Nestled above one of my favorite cities in France, Saint Remy D'Province, Glanum really shows what ancient Roman life was like, in a walk-through, and touch and feel way. If you want to see true Roman ruins, go to Glanum, then on to Nimês to see one of the oldest intact Coliseums (300 years older than the one in Rome), a marvel!

The exhibition is wonderful, and the scale of the quarry is immense allowing for this splendid display.

It may be a great start of a visit of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. There is an ancient town built even before the Rome empire came. Lots of buildings remain in a good state. You can see how everyday life of the town war organised. If you’re interested in archeology you’ll be excited as there are many activities related to it. So you can even give it a try. For kids there’re some performances and many books on a shop to tell in a simple way why archeology is important and what’s needed to become an archeologist. For sure it’s an amazing place for those who like history and the Roman period. Highly recommend visiting. It’s a rare case when an ancient city has been conserved so well.
