Stunning food, fantastic & friendly service, and extremely reasonable price. In UK this standard of food is double the cost. The portions were the perfect size to allow you to eat all 3 courses without feeling uncomfortable. Highly recommended.

Had been staying in Saintes for 2 nights & were longing to try this restaurant out. It was worth the wait. I'm now firmly hooked on cucumber sorbet ... perfect !! Our 2 course meal was excellent, our host knowledgeable, friendly & most interesting. He explained the different dishes well, suggested a great wine & our evening was lovely. Wonderful restaurant with exquisite food that both looked fantastic and tasted amazing. The beef fillet served with burning rosmarin was wow worthy. The service was personable, cheerful and warm Truly recommend this wonderful place.

Even though not very lavishly presented, this little restaurant is one of the best value quality establishments that I have found in the region, and certainly worth a 100km round trip. Located in a small alley in the old quarter of the lovely town of Saintes, just 100m or so from the Charente, it is a cave (wine shop) that has expended to a restaurant (or possibly vice versa). The chef clearly is serious in presenting interesting and tasty dishes well presented. There is a menu for 17/20€ for 2 or 3 courses. Good selection of wine available by the glass. I had then 'selection du jour' for all three courses and was delighted with all three. A real find.

Excellent beef fillet with smoking herbs on top. Delicious sauce. Locally sourced ingredients and products. It’s probably one of the best restaurants in the regions. Definitely one of my favorite ones.
