Really enjoyed our spontaneous dinner in this local gem. Very special dishes and great service. Would definitely come back to try different options on the menu! We tried the fois gras, the veal and macarons and chocolate cake for dessert. One recommendation is to have an english menu because it can be very challenging to understand. Thanks!

Visiting friends in Saintes needed breakfast ...fantastic (Irish / English Breakfast) brunch with a Michelin star rated french twist! very very friendly atmosphere. Evening meal here was utterly delicious HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Very friendly people - English Speaking - Chef / owner is very talented and creative with dishes - The have gluten free bread and cook special custom vegetarian dishes for me on my stay. The Salad on the picture, was made with Crispy-oven-baked cauliflower, dress with roasted garlic, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, walnuts, almonds, in olive oil salt and spices, on a bed of greens. Very good flavor! - "Not on the menu, but special made for me " Super!

We tried here the best tuna ever. Very nice location with an excellent customer service. The dessert was superb (chocolate cake). Highly recommendable!!!

First night in Saintes, and we loved this place. The menu at 31 euro was excellent value. Five of us, and we tried a range of items across the board. Very high standard of service and presentation, but what really struck me was the quality of every dish. The hostess and chef have excellent English, from years in Australia and recommended a very good local red wine. A great way to start our week in Saintes.

We visited a few days ago and were treated to marvellous food and kindly staff. The staff are fluent English speakers so no need to fear if you are wanting to try a local place but worry about a language barrier-they are knowledgable and can explain the menu. There is gluten free bread also, and all of the food was beautifully cooked and delicious. The desserts were especially good so make sure you save room! All in all a true gem of a place. The servers wear masks/face shields and they are open about disinfecting things-you will need your phone as the menu is accessible via QR code to keep down the number of things to touch, and their card machine is disinfected and covered in cling film as well. A very safe place to come and enjoy a meal out. We will definitely be back soon!

Following ill health and then lock down it is a long time since we have been to this restaurant. What a treat to visit today. The owner had not forgotten us and the service from our young waitress was efficient and kind. And the food? I'm sure it is better than ever. We both had Dorade as our main course and it was delicious, moist and delicate. Being able to have a good carafe of wine helps to keep the price down and even for fussy eaters like us the plat du jour gave us plenty of choice. I'm sure it will not be long before we are back to eat here again.

Excellent food and service. Recommended by a friend, we were not disappointed. The menu is small but this has the benefit that the food is cooked and presented to a high standard. The level of service was very good. We will certainly return.

We are never disappointed at the Clos decours restaurant. Today as always a fine express menu of high quality fresh food. Good atmosphere and as an invalid I feel very well cared for with help whenever I need it. The chef is second to none and in my opinion is the very best fish cook in Saintes. We have been regular visitors for the past 14 years. Never disappointed with both menu , service and the wine list is exemplary.

A very nice restaurant to go to. They give you a wonderful experience. The food is excellent. The fish and meat dishes are fantastic. The saint jacques are prepared perfectly(higly recommended). Clos des Cours thank you for the great experience. We will be back. Regards Luque

Christmas day lunch here , there should have been 5 of us but one took ill in the morning and could not come . the reaction of the female owner was awful , cold and rude insisting that we paid ....in full for the person who was unable to come. The meal was nice but somewhat tarnished by the total lack of Christmas cheer from the owner . No fuss was made about paying for the empty place although I did ask to take away what should have been eaten at the table which I did think could be re-heated unfortunately this type of food should really be eaten freshly served , the owner would have known this and had no shame charging 46 euros , Dreadful , nice food shame about the owner , never going there again
