👍👍 This is a no-brainer. I’m writing this in the taxi back from Omoki, so it’s all still fresh :). If you’re reading this, I’d look no further and book this hostel if you’re going to Salento. Why? We had a great stay at Omoki. The rooms are decent and you can get private rooms or a dorm. The private rooms have their own bathrooms, which is great. There is a kitchen for public use, which is always a plus, but it's not that well equipped. The worst part about Omoki is that it's located outside of the city, and if you don't want to walk for an hour you'll have to use the local taxis. And while the taxi service is good, you'll get tired of having to drive back and forth all the time. The best part of Omoki, on the other hand, is the owners. They are great people and will strive to make the stay great for you. They will also inform you about, and help organise different activities that exist in the local area. They were the best people I met in all of Colombia.

This is a no-brainer. I’m writing this in the taxi back from Omoki, so it’s all still fresh :). If you’re reading this, I’d look no further and book this hostel if you’re going to Salento. Why? Because you get to wake up in the middle of the coffee fields. We arrived when it was dark, so we had a beautiful surprise when we woke up and looked outside. Of course it’s also possible to book a hostel inside Salento. But here are some reasons why we were glad we didn’t. Amelie and Freddy are two passionate hosts who care about their surroundings and its community. If you book a coffee tour with them, you won’t go to a big farm, but luckily instead, a small farm nearby. The farmer let’s you experience how he’s still working. And you get to do everything yourself too. The best part? It was one of the most soft / round coffees I’ve ever had. They support the locals, for instance this farmer who normally barely could come by due to low prices he gets from the big corporations. All the while he does his best to grow everything organically and biologically (so no chemicals). Breakfast was also really good! We've enjoyed the fresh fruits and all :) A few things to consider: - it’s an eco hostel, so there is hot water, but don’t expect a waterfall pouring down on you - It’s in the middle of the fields, so while there is a road, it’s not easy for ‘normal’ taxis to reach. Just make sure to contact Amelie and arrange for a suitable ride. I know at first hand it may sound expensive, but they don't over charge you, so you know it's the good price. I hope you'll enjoy it as much as we did!

We stayed on the farm (in there own house). It is a beautifull place with a lot of friendly animals. The breakfast is all from there own ground or from the community. We did a full day eco coffee tour and it was awsome! We stayed with our 1 year old baby girl and she loved the place, Amelie and Jaime took great care of the 3 of us. They have a lot of tips and really nice eco tours. Thank you so much for the stay.

😐 We came here for a basic coffee tour which was still more expensive than other tours in the area that we enjoyed a little more. But it is interesting to see a larger scale operation. The tour guides all speak perfect English and it's a nice experience with picking coffee beans which is a nice touch....
