The
Silk
Root
is
a
wonderful
addition
to
Bangkok's
food
scene
due
to
it's
delicious
fusion
of
Asian
&
Western
ingredients
at
reasonable
prices.
As
you
enter
the
compound
of
where
the
restaurant
is
located,
a
warm
sense
of
modern
antiquness
evokes
a
sense
of
warmth
and
nostalgia.
The
perfect
setting
for
some
homemade
comfort
food
options
or
a
quick
bite.
As
we
were
seated
in
the
restaurant,
we
noticed
the
glass
windows
that
allowed
us
to
see
all
the
action
taking
place
in
the
kitchen
which
is
always
nice.
Cleanliness
was
also
paramount
and
clearly
a
priority
here.
The
service
was
friendly
and
efficient.
We
didn't
have
to
wait
long
for
the
food.
Oh
yes
the
Food!
By
far
the
highlight
was
the
pork
carnitas
quesadillas
which
had
a
succulent
pieces
of
deliciously
marinated
pork.
Moving
on
to
the
sukiyaki
fried
rice,
you
get
the
aromatic
scent
of
slightly
burnt
flavors
from
their
wok
style
cooking.
This
is
fried
rice
on
steroids.
The
pieces
of
chicken
were
excellent
with
no
excess
fat
or
skin.
Most
of
their
dishes
were
packed
with
flavor
due
to
the
sauces
they
use.
We
especially
enjoyed
the
spicy
BBQ
sauce
in
their
pork
burger
which
was
awesome.
Wanted
to
buy
some
home
for
later.
Finally,
it's
worth
pointing
out
that
all
their
dishes
don't
have
MSG
as
shown
in
their
menu.
Phew!
We
will
be
back
for
sure
to
this
'King
of
Comfort'
in
the
heart
of
China
Town!
