Dear reader, Great location to take in a sunset. Lots of bars and restaurants near by to help you relax through your evening. I would recommend that you take a taxi, as parking in this area is a challenge. Parking is available, but is a walk away. Enjoy like we did… the sunset.
Lovely place for a promenade in the evening or watching the sunset. Lots of bars / pubs / restaurants and high street shops, as well as duty free available. Close paid parking available.
The best natural beach on the island. Lovely fine sand, good waves and warm waters... It is easy to fall in love with, so we did 10 years ago and come back as often as we can standing on 7 and looking for more
Highly recommend a visit at night. The lights illuminate the lighthouse and surrounding area beautifully. A trip in the day is also advised as you can visit the roof terrace for panoramic views of the surrounding area
Right next to a Beautiful beach and the famous dunes of the island. Many restaurants and bars at the beach. There is a decent underground Parking garage in a few min walk. Nice place to visit! If you are lucky and the waves are nice you can even rent surfboards and try surfing with a local school.
Faro de Maspalomas is a 56-meter-tall historic lighthouse built in 1890 at the southern tip of Gran Canaria. It overlooks the Maspalomas Dunes and Atlantic Ocean, offering beautiful sunset views. Now a cultural site, it features exhibitions and is surrounded by vibrant beachfront amenities.
Great views and a great little museum, all free. The old lighthouse has been lovingly maintained and you can climb up to the middle which opens out onto the roof terrace. The history of the island and the lighthouse itself is very interesting and there are some great facts and information to be read in the various exhibits.
It is a great lighthouse with fantastic views. Inside, there’s a small museum where you can learn about the history of the Canary Islands. Entry is free, and there are convenient amenities like a toilet and a gift shop. The location is excellent, with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby, and the bus stop is just a short walk away, making it very accessible. The only downside was an unpleasant smell of the toilet in the museum area, which detracted from the experience a bit. Otherwise, it’s a lovely place to visit and a great way to spend some time while exploring the area.
