👍👍 To begin with, the structure of the former convent of Santo Domingo is a true architectural beauty. The entrance ticket price is $60 per person. The pieces on display are great and well explained. The big surprise was its textile exhibition. Simply impressive, the museum has an impressive collection... People often mention museum,

Simply impressive, the museum has an impressive collection of indigenous clothing both displayed in glass cases and in drawers. A delight to the sight.

I went on a Sunday and the museum was actually very quiet. There is no cost that day. Although it was being remodeled, the few rooms there have good content and are very interesting. It should be emphasized that the best are the facilities.

Admission $65, on Sundays if you present your INE you enter for free, the entrance is for the convent and the textile center. Very quiet and wide the route.

We really enjoyed this museum despite a good chunk of it being closed due to covid restrictions. As a primer for Palenque, where we travelled to next, it was great as they have a good collection of mayan ceramics and textiles. To be fair we expected the museum to be more about its history as a convent but still enjoyed ourselves. We spent about an hour or two there. One note, it is kind of hard to find the entrance because of the sprawling mercado santo domingo also it is only open thursday to sunday at the moment, because of covid.

I went on a Sunday and it was “free” pay what you want. I don’t know if this is everyday or just on Sundays. The museum on the first floor has some very old artefacts. The second floor had more recent textiles and videos illustrating how they are made. Very interesting.

A must-visit is the Museum of the Ex-Convent of Santo Domingo, well preserved and with a mix of History and History of the Textiles of the Place.

👍👍 This Church was restored and is one of the most beautiful on Chiapas. The monastery with its church was built in the 16th century, with the monastery secularized later. The church retains its original function. The building with two courtyards was restored between 1999 and 2002 to become a communit...

👍👍 A fascinating and delightful insight into cacao and it's history in Meso America. Our tour guide Mayaria gave an exceptional experience, chocolate tasting and answered all our questions. Time well spent, and worth every penny.
