This beach has one of the best photographic views of the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. There are a lot of activities going on for this public beach, however, you should still manage to get some pictures in. This area provides a nice background of the Golden gate bridge if you are looking to take selfies or pictures of others. Make your way here before you head out anywhere else. It does take time with traffic to get to this area, but it is worth it.

Absolutely breathtaking sunsets with an easily accessible walk to the sandy beach with views to the right of the Golden Gate Bridge. Coming from the north after the bridge, take the first exit and follow signs to the parking area. There are porta-potties in a pinch if needed. Can get crowded but definitely worth the views. I call it a must stop for sunsets in San Francisco. So glad we went!

If you want to take the perfect picture of Golde gate bridge, then it would be a great location. Beautiful seashore and a pleasant place. Parking place available. Decent place for family. No parking charge.

One of the best experiences from my SF trip! I could spend hours walking here with the sea breeze in my hair, and watch the waves crash over the rocks, and witness some random vessel sail sluggishly under the Golden Gate bridge. Oh well, I might as well become a poet if I stay here too long.

This beach is a wonderful spot, especially in the late afternoon when you can enjoy a beautiful sunset over the Golden Gate Bridge. We discovered this gem while driving along the coast from the windmills in Golden Gate Park. The parking lot is relatively small, and it seemed to be primarily frequented by locals. I highly recommend it, with the caveat that you should be prepared to encounter some nudity along the way."

Nice place excellent view

Moderately coarse sand, cold breeze, moderate parking. If you really want to go to a beach in the city, Chrissy field area is probably a better bet.
