Thursday night Karaoke with DJ Purple is always amazing, with a great crowd and awesome Sax-playing DJ. I’ve been there pre- and post-pandemic and enjoyed myself thoroughly in both eras. I feel like I’ve made some lifelong friends through this venue. And that’s saying a whole lot for a bar 😍.

Bar was cool. Never have I payed for Karaoke. That was odd. I would have tipped more. Anyway was an OK experience.

Went for the dance karaoke Thursday. Great time, fun group, fun songs. The live sax is an awesome touch.

Awesome bar in a fun San Francisco neighborhood! The bar staff is friendly and on top of it, the drink selections are great, and the vibe is just right. On Thursdays they have Dance Karaoke with DJ Purple, which is a uniquely exciting karaoke show, complete with backing vocals, live sax, and quick transitions to ensure that the singing and dancing are continuous. Highly recommended!

Slate is a phenomenal spot. Great selection, fantastic environment, and amazing staff! I always have fun when I go there. The karaoke show on Thursdays is also outstanding!

Slate bar has Karaoke on Thursday. It was lots of fun. Good dj. There is a cover charge. But I think it's worth it. $8 not bad. DJ does an awesome Saxophone solo!! We had a blast!!

Pretty nice Thursday night karaoke experience. Though I wish there was a cocktail menu. The bartender did manage to throw something together but it wasn't really enjoyable.

Great place to just go and relax, a little on the upscale in terms of price but you're paying for the atmosphere. This place would get 5/5 if they just sold some whisky...

Pool table is absolutely almost perfect. Love playing there on Thursday nights, when DJ purple is having his karaoke dance party.

Great bar and very spacious. They had some kind of karaoke going on the Friday night I went. They have a pool table and photobooth . Would recommend if you are in a large party of people

We took a Cocktail Camp class here and it was super fun! The bartender and instructor was super knowledgeable, friendly, and taught us how to make an old fashioned, a margarita, and gin and tonic. There’s a fun photo booth for $5 (takes Apple Pay!) and skeeball machines in the back. Super fun experience!

Absolutely rude towards their neighbors so loud at night when asked to try to keep things down they don't oblige

One of the best karaoke nights of my life. There was an $8 cover which threw me off, but it was totally worth it! The KJ plays mad sax and has smoke that shoots out and it is mad fun!

For salsa dancing it's ok, too much Cuban salsa, and not always crowded, not even one bachata song...

Good vibe with music playing and a nice open layout. Downside there isn't too much seating. Does have a nice patio area to hang out at. Well drinks start at $8 which is nice change from rest of the expensive bars in SF.

I was a regular to Slate Bar when I was living in the San Francisco Bay area until the end of 2020. It's so much fun. The owner and bartenders are down to earth and friendly. That makes me feel comfortable being myself, hence being a regular there. And of course there is the awesomely produced karaoke night by DJ Purple. Karaoke nights are my escape from reality and I've met so many people because of the kind of vibe DJ Purple and his followers put out there. Slate bar has such a perfect floor plan too, with ample seating, easy ways for people to meet others, and they managed to fit in a pool table and skeeball.
