EDIT: Their reply is a flat out lie. Don’t believe them. I strongly recommend going to Pagoda next door who have always been welcoming and the vibe is great. Dimples staff are crooks. They refuse to serve you water. The aged Asian lady who seems to run the place told me "This is bar, no water, drink beer".I was forced to order beer to hydrate myself, which is ridiculous. The karaoke host also announced to the crowd "If u want water, go home". They also put extra charges on your bill with no explanation, and refuse to give u an itemized receipt. Drunk bar staff claimed my friends were on my tab, but when I asked who, he said "I don't know". They also make you pay for every song you sing. This place is no fun.

What can I say, I love Dimples!! Such a fun atmosphere. I happen to love singing and appreciate the efficiency with which they go through the requests! Unlike most of the karaoke places I’ve been to, they charge for songs ($3 for 1 song or $5 for 2), but I don’t mind it much since I’ve definitely tipped KJs in the hope of a turn to sing. I loooove the owner and bartender Jen! I am constantly wanting to go back!!!! Also they have a cute pink bathroom!

I went in by myself one Thursday evening, ordered a drink, sat down, went to use the restroom, and when I returned a minuter later, my completely full glass of beer was removed. It was very clear from this that I wasn't welcome there, and so of course when I went to complain to the bartender about what had happened, she completely avoided me like the plague. I tip well, generally 30% or more, although I don't recall exactly what my tip was, I know it was generous. It is a small place and was not very crowded, so for them to do this suggests I was targeted for my race or being a single female. That, or they were trying to get more money out of me. I had planned to bring several friends here for the evening and told them all how I was treated. Instead, I left and will not return to this bar ever again. I looked at other reviews from this place and it is clear that women are targeted by the staff and that the owner is defending this behavior. When I ordered the beer and turned out to be a 40 ounce beer, I didn't complain, and I understand a business trying to make money, but it is now clear that they have no business or social skills. There is no other explanation for them defending their treatment of people when the situation was clearly handled rudely. We don't need lectures about your business when you are the one ruining it.

Bad layout, bad energy, bad owner. I want to see Korean owners succeed but she honestly panders to the white crowd. She made us feel very uncomfortable. Edit - my friend and I had ordered drinks and our two other friends planned to order more but wanted to sit down first. The thing that was uncomfortable was that we were for some reason the only group that the woman was enforcing to have two drinks at the table with them. And when we pointed that no one else had two, they said that it didn’t matter what other people were doing.

we had a blast at dimples!!! Jenn the bartender is so sweet and such a party starter. we were there with only two other customers and we all quickly became friends- all singing together. it’s kinda hard to do cash only for the songs unless you know ahead of time (our group only had cards) but maybe having a company cashapp could help dimples makes it easier for customers to pay for songs? for now just know it’s $5 to sing 2 songs. we really had such a great experience and know we will be back!!!

I always forget how fun karaoke is until I go back to a good spot. Dimples has a decent sized binder with thousands of songs to choose from. The options lean more toward the pop genre, which is to be expected for karaoke. It's an intimate atmosphere where you get to sing with a bunch of strangers. Lyrics are shown on multiple screens so everyone can sing along. There were two mics on stage and they did a good job of progressing through songs.

On vacation in SF, our friends took me and my wife here for karaoke. We dig karaoke quite a bit, but Derek is a cut above the average host. This might be the most fun karaoke night I ever had - top 5 for sure! The bar staff were wonderful, Momo (sic) was great. Unlike some places, one pays a little money to request but one always sings almost right away, it's a fair trade. Last, it was really nice to sing karaoke in 2021, coming out of the pandemic. What a great night!

No menu available, drinks are way overpriced and under liqueured. Two people next to me paid $28 for two Saporro beers which sell for $4 at the corner store or $6 Ina restaurant. There was also no music or kareoke playing. Wouldn't go back, or recommend, and should have listened to the other reviews.

Awful customer service. They accused me of stealing when they gave my credit card to the wrong person. Dirty bathrooms, bad drinks, dingy atmosphere.

Great bar. Go here. Karaoke is upscale. Good equipment. Bring cash to pay for the songs. Extra to tip the folks who work it. Good selection at the bar. Pretty clean space with good areas for sitting alone or in groups. A good place to ball out on some songs. Maybe not a warm up or practice spot.

This place is awesome!!! I came here with a couple of friends for drinks and karaoke and had a wonderful time! Great people and the owners of the establishment went above and beyond! Definitely coming back here when I’m in Japantown again! 🎤🥃✨

I couldn't believe how excited everyone was. We got there at like 2 in the morning and it was Poppin'. The VJ was very tolerant of a drunk in our party. Best karaoke bar I've ever been to.

My favorite karaoke bar to go to! Such a great an environment with super comfy chairs, friendly and attentive staff, and yummy drinks! It’s $5 in cash for 2 songs which is a good deal! The drinks can be a bit pricy but the karaoke is worth it!! I went on a Monday night for my birthday and the crowd was amazing! I love the regulars and it’s so fun to go!

Had a great time celebrating hubby's bday there! Good vibes! Yummy drinks!

The drink prices are high and you must spend at least $20 per person. If someone put a drink for you on their tab, you still have to spend $20 on your tab. My 2 drinks came to $29 dollars. karaoke 🎤 cost $5 for 2 songs. This prices are normal for SanFrancisco but outrageous to the average tourist. I had a great time! The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming.

I am 24 years old Me and my friend walked in and I forgot my ID. You have to go down some steps to get there. I told the strange looking man I forgot my ID , I asked him if I could show a pic and i told him my birth year he said "no , needs physical card" ( understandable ) I walked back to my friend and my friend walks up with her ID. My friend is 53 years old it's her birthday we are celebrating He tells her we have to leave noone can be in here below 21. (This is where I'm confused) WHY IS THERE NO ONE AT THE DOOR to make sure that NO ONE gets in below 21. Not only that. If I hadn't admitted I didn't have my ID he was just going to sell me liquor. He didnt even look like he wanted to serve me in the FIRST place. It was bad vibes coming from him. I dont think he wanted us there. I came back with my ID but didnt want to go back inside , that's how bad he almost ruined our night , we wasnt rude or anything we WANTED to go in there I even went back to get my ID. I have been wanting to party here for the longest. I'm convinced he didn't want us In there by the way he looked at us when we first walked in. No greeting , nothing , why is he working , terrible service Shut the place down since no one is guarding the door to make sure someone has to he a certain age to get in. I came back with my ID and STILL nobody was at the door to make sure we was "21 and older" It was people walking past us to go into dimples looked younger than me. But ok............... I went home and got my ID we ended up going next door to PAGODA and had a great time The 2 nice ladies that's worked there greeted us , and we turned the place out saturday night. PAGODA was LIT Decent prices for the drinks , and little finger foods it was amazing night. And free karaoke. Make sure you tip the the workers at pagoda. Lol they are probably owned jointly idc , pagoda is the place to be Saturday 15 oct. 2022

Reposting for a friend, but in my own experience, dimples staff has never been great; Dimples staff are crooks. They refuse to serve you water. Absolutely hated this place. I get there at midnight and try to buy 2 Asahi beers. I guess I couldn’t communicate that well enough so I settle on 2 Coors beers. The bartender opens them and I give my card. She then tells me it’s $20 minimum for cards, something I’ve never heard at any bar before. We finish those and I get 2 modelos. When the bill comes it says $28 dollars. I think that’s a fair investment to know never to come back. As I’m signing the receipt one of her drunk regulars or son in law takes the bill from my hands and gives it to the bartender. I’ve never been treated so rudely in such record time. Great job dimples.

Bartender was overcharging for drinks. I know this because I ordered 2 beers and 2 tequilas and she told me it was 34$, which I can justify by assuming each shot was 12$ and each beer was 5$, well upon my return I ordered 2 beers, 2 tequilas and A WATER and all of the sudden it's 56$!!! And then she had the nerve to stand and glare at me while waiting for a tip. Sorry, the extra 20$ I was charged for a water was apparently the tip! Also they pathetically charge when you want to sing a song. Hands down one of the worst Karaoke spots I've been too. I will not be returning.

I was supposed to go to a karaoke party with friends, but it was too packed, so we came here instead. Best. Decision. EVER! Thanks to the staff and the karaoke DJ, it was one of the highlights of our trip! Can't wait to come back next year!

I went with my friend to grab drinks one night and they definitely overcharged us for our drinks. They charged us extra for a shot we did not order. When we asked why they charged us for the extra shot the worker replied "Well i'm charging you for the shot I drank with you of course." how outrageous. Downstairs the entire bar smells like cigarettes. Very dirty environment. Will not be returning.
