"This marble fountain, located in the square where Akbıyık Street and Keresteci Hakkı and Ahırkapı Streets are located, is decorated with fine embroidery throughout. A wide border consisting of various flower motifs surrounds both sides and the top. Under its fan-shaped arch, which is seen in most fountains of the tulip period, there is a vase-shaped decorated with flower motifs. Even if there was a mirror stone, it was destroyed and its basin was destroyed. Its water does not flow. Additionally, a cap decorated with fine work above the fountain attracts attention..." Akbiyik Fountain built between 1718 and 1730. It was the so-called Epoch of the Tulip or the Tulip Era or short period between 1718 and 1730 when the Ottoman Empire had no wars and aristocracy requested more luxury and such requests developed trades, crafts and asset turnover. That period was over in the result of the Patrona Halil (c.1690-1730) Revolt in 1730. Patrona Halil was supported by Janissaries and deposed Sultan Ahmed III, who was replaced by Mahmud I (1696-1754). But Ottoman aristocracy was very concerned by the actions of fanatical radicals. That's why Khan of Crimea, Grand Vizier, Mufti, and Aga of Janissaries killed Patrona Halil and seven thousand his supporters. Public peace and order in Istanbul was restored, but the Tulip Era has left together with Ahmed III. Istanbul, 🇹🇷 Turkey 🇹🇷. April 30, 2023.

The inscription of the fountain, which is estimated to have been built in the Tulip Era (1718-1730), reads "Bismillahirrahmanirrahim ve minel main aşle Şey'in hay".
