I have visited all Virgin Active clubs in Sandton ,Midrand and Johannesburg. This one is the best. It has enough space, sufficient machines and more than 20 trademils. Classes are always on time and instructors are very helpful.

I joined in the beginning of the year under Carlswald, but I was told I could use any gym. I added my children, too. The first time I went to Waterfall, they gave me a lot of issues with my kids, saying I need to fill in multiple papers every time I bring them. When I asked for contract documents stating this requirement because it seems they made up the rules on the fly, they told me the manager would call me. The manager called and after a long conversation said btw the special is ending in July so I can't use the club. I upgraded to premier for me and my kids, who are linked to my account. Again, I went back to Waterfall and got the same snooty responses of my kids not having rights to the gym play area until I showed them my membership on my app and showed the deduction I get monthly. They then picked up it is an administrative issue on their side. It's been weeks since, and the administrative issue has not been resolved, giving me issues when I go to Waterfall and Vodaworld, but not Kyalami and Carlswald. Every time, they just take my details and say they update it, but nothing. I still get charged monthly. Same thing with my app. It doesn't show the rewards, I report it multiple times, and they take down my details, but nothing changes. I gym 4 times a week, but the admin is horrible.

Lovely staff, spacious workout areas and updated machinery. There is plenty of space in the locker rooms as well and an outside gym area which most branches don’t have.

Every single one of the 6 bikes is broken. The patrons that go here are the worst. They regularly think it is acceptable to leave bags occupying 2 machines while they use three machines at once and if you ask them about it, they look at you like you landed here from mars and it is totally acceptable to break the published rules of the club. Staff are nowhere to be seen. Total waste of a club. Shut it down.

Nothing works at this gym, most of the cardio equipment is out of use and there has not been hot water for over a week. There is a clear lack of care for servicing equipment here

A very big gym with good maintenance. You have various types of options. You can do cardio, weight training, swimming, yoga, meditation etc. You can avail personal trainer too. Also you have kids play zone where you can drop your kids and go do your workout. The swimming pool is also spacious. Very well maintained.

Great gym to go to. Only complaint is the onboarding staff, they aren't transparent with what you are signing for, I thought I was simply updating my information for a discount in the meantime the consultant signed me up for a whole new 2 year contract. This isn't acceptable whatsoever. I was told to just sign for the discount, only once I questioned it did he say that it's a whole new account - mind you, there's more cancelation fee's included. I didn't expect this from VA.

The gym itself is too busy and there are not enough machines to do your full workout, doesn't matter if you go in the morning or afternoon, the peak times are really long. The staff are not too helpful, especially if you're trying to cancel your contract, such attitude. The kauai is probably the worst that I've been to, and this even after the district manager assured me that there would be training and better service so that item taste how they should. All round bad experience, the only good thing is the location.

Nice facilities and tons of different equipment. Lots of space and hardly too busy. Only thing is that the floor is uneven in the weights section so your dumbbells and weights won’t stay where they are

For the membership fee you are paying, this gym is average if not below average. The gym is always packed and the equipment are few. So, you have people lining up for equipment. The weight equipment are old and not comfortable. I was disappointed. The bikes and treadmills are fancy but are not comfortable. The pool, eating, waiting and showering area are good.

Staff is friendly. Manager is a darling, but quite honestly, the club is over priced and Over rated. Equipments always broken. Response to complaints or suggestions take forever if at all attended to. The swim instructors are not the friendliest. The theft is appaling, to say the least. I'm still loyal nonetheless. It's a stone-throw from home. 🤷‍♀️

Aircon either doesn't work or they've got that thing running like a heater. Staff can be rude at times. Weights always missing. Generator work only sometimes during loadshedding and other times chooses not to 🤷‍♂️

Terrible service received from all members ranging from the consultant to the managers. I wouldn't recommend Dee/ Dominique as she was helpful during the sale but her after sales service is pathetic. Everytime I call regarding my matter being resolved management is either in a meeting or not available , the consultant blatantly ignores any of my correspondence and this has been going on since the beginning of February. I am told by staff that management will call back but this never happens. I wouldn't recommend this gym at all. Highly disappointed.

For a place like waterfall and the price, I expected much more. Very little variety in equipment, crowded but the staff is great

Well Waterfall is Waterfall the Crem de la crem without the calories. This Virgin active is just sooo on point , it has the level of The collection And Reds without the status. The steam rooms and sauna , the showers so beautifully designed , the big pool and baby pool, Club V, wide range of personal trainers Kauai , The lively reception staff the beautiful views while training ... what more could the aristocrats ask for? Everything just to the tee... You really get what you pay for in life and this is just an awesome reminder of how it feels to have everything in check.

My 1st day today I was welcomed by Mamike very friendly she showed me around and spend the whole session with me,thank you so much ma'am. I forgot the other guy name but in overall virgin active staff they are very friendly

Recently visited this Virgin Active gym in Waterfall and would rate my experience as average. The gym had many positive aspects such as clean and well-maintained equipment, but the sauna was out of order and the steam room wasn't working properly, which detracted from my overall enjoyment of the gym. Additionally, some of the leg curl machines were out of order. Overall, I would give this Virgin Active gym a rating of 3 out of 5 stars. While the gym had many positive aspects, the issues with the sauna, steam room and the leg curl machines left me feeling a bit underwhelmed.

Karabo signed me up (07 February). You sign up and you never get your start up kit, call the other day Sibongile the receptionist answered and said the manager will call me till today I’m still waiting for their call in fact my kit.

I love it, the gym is clean and the equipment is new. I like their shower room.

Good place, generally great atmosphere..not much to complain about besides the water supply issues every now and again

Gym is not maintained very well. Wieghts missing equipment broken and takes months to get fixed. Rather use Sunninghill or Kyalami

The gym is clean and fairly equipment. Definitely doesn't cater for the amount of members it has. Always full early morning or evenings. Has only one squat rack

A sales consultant by Johannes from Virgin Active Waterfall is a liar and a misrepresenter. He sold me a Virgin Active Black Friday promo and said it didn’t have a cancellation fee only to be charged a cancellation fee when I cancelled. He is a liar and when I seek answers he ignored my calls.

Amazing gym....but the price is not so amazing. Vitality gets you a huge discount

Very sad to see a Virgin Active Club with limited equipment working during loadshedding. I mean get a generator to at least run the Treadmill.

Very disappointing when on a Monday morning 7am and 5 treadmills are out of order. Considering that you only have every alternate treadmill operational due to social distancing. Fitness trainers always lounging on certain machines while coaching their clients and chatting. Are they not aware that other patrons would like to use a particular machine. In a time like this, you rather feel like you might just cancel your gym membership as nothing gets better or offered while the fees are always climbing. Since we have downscale to Level 1 Lockdown, the saunas and steam rooms are still closed as well. 2 months have passed and the only excuse you would get is that they are awaiting approval from government. You make your own decisions...

Enjoy the pool, the rest is a typical gym. Kauai coffee is quite good here, use the app to get a free smoothie. Parking assistants by the bus load...

Unfortunately due to load shedding the gym is very uncomfortable 🥵 to hot no air conditioning. They need to invest in a generator that will accommodate air conditioning. Terrible workout today 😩left early

Not enough equipment. The dumbell sizes go up in 2kgs, and the barbells are so few. The stairs from reception to the where the stuff is, is a workout on its own.

Loved it. Always visit this one on my way to work. Clean and well maintained. Just the few machines not working but there's enough for everyone when I do go.

40% of cardio machines are not working (out of service/not in use). Weights are not efficient. Waste of money.

3 of the 4 row machines are broken and even when they are working the seat sometimes catches or the chain catches (very unpleasant). Please do some maintenance.

Terribly trained and unpleasant staff. After visiting the gym, in the hopes of getting a Kauai smoothie. Not only did the staff failed to inform me that Kauai was only for Virgin Active member. But turned me away in the most unpleasant way. A terrible experience that clarified my decision to leave virgin active for good. #dobetter

I recently signed up with Karabo, I explicitly told him to sign me up for premier membership as I will be travelling and he goes and signes me up for a single club. Tried contacting him about this and he just ignores me, I guess he’s commission has already been made right. Overall poor welcoming and admin.

Men toilet is a total mess if only I can snap it and post it here so everyone can see how messy it is. Please tell your staff to do better
