The
Windmills
Shopping
Centre
is
located
in
the
centre
of
Cape
Hill
in
the
suburb
of
Smethwick,
approximately
5
miles
West
of
Birmingham
City
Centre
and
about
2
miles
from
Junction
1
of
the
M5.
This
shopping
centre
is
convenient
for
me
as
it
is
about
a
mile
from
my
house
and
away
from
Birmingham’s
strictly
enforced
clean
air
zone
and
I
can
avoid
the
busy
Hagley
Road.
As
a
routine,
we
buy
groceries
and
pharmaceutical
items
two
or
three
times
a
week.
So
having
a
shopping
centre
with
Asda
and
Boots
is
good
for
me.
Recently
I
discovered
that
Iceland
offers
a
wide
range
of
ready
meals,
my
favourite
Greggs’s
steak
bakes
and
some
occasional
good
offers.
There
are
a
few
other
anchor
stores
including
Costa
for
a
quick
cup
of
good
coffee.
A
big
disappointment
for
me
recently
was
the
unavailability
of
prescription
medicines
in
the
pharmacy
in
Asda
as
well
as
in
Boots
at
the
Windmills
Shopping
Centre.
Both
pharmacies
were
unhelpful.
I
tried
Tesco’s
pharmacy
in
Camden
Street
with
the
same
result
–
items
not
in
stock.
It
is
stressful
when
you
get
prescriptions
for
antibiotics
to
be
turned
away
without
help
as
to
how
or
where
to
get
them.
I
tried
the
specialist
family
owned
pharmacy
on
Dudley
Road
and
they
were
able
to
order
them
for
me
within
hours.
So
I
asked
myself
who
owns
the
pharmacies
in
the
superstores?
And
who
decides
what
to
stock?
