We stayed in October 2021 and have been attempting to deal with managers about several items that each of house lost from our luggage. The items were taken out of our bags. We had been told at one point that an appropriate credit would go to our credit card but that did not happen. I would not recommend staying at the Simpson House if you want to leave with all that you came with!

We loved our stay at the Simpson house inn! The inn is surrounded by beautiful green trees and plants, really feels magical. The staff is super warm and welcoming. Breakfast is delicious and fresh. So if you're looking for a chill relaxing getaway, come here!

I have no idea what any of the bad reviews were about (Other than just being left by crabby people). I have stayed all over the world and I can honestly say this place is magical and full of every single touch you would hope for. The hosts are incredibly welcoming and kind, making sure every part of your stay is perfect. The scenery is perfect - Calm, serene and lush. The food. The coffee. The rooms. Everything is a dream. Thank you so much for the stay - We will definitely be back!

We usually stay at the Ritz Carlton in Santa Barbara, but needed a quiet place due to a recent family death. The Simpson House gave us the quiet, calming, healing place we needed. The personal service is outstanding and the whole staff really cares about your experience here. High recommend and will stay there again.

We had our wedding in April at the Simpson House Inn and it was simply a dream. The property is peaceful and romantic, and you have the feeling of stepping into your own secret garden as soon as you arrive. All of the staff are warm and welcoming, and always helpful and accommodating to our needs throughout the whole planning process. Haley, the Innkeeper we worked directly with, is especially lovely and made our wedding weekend and the months leading up to it a breeze. She continually went above and beyond for us. For example, arranging for the Hors D'oeuvres to be set out several hours earlier than their standard schedule so that they would be available to guests as they got checked in. Being able to have the venue to ourselves throughout the weekend was incredible as well. It wasn't a top priority for us when we were first looking for venues, but it ended up being one of our favorite parts of the experience! It was great to have our wedding party and immediate family staying all together, and we never felt rushed out or that they were in a hurry to turn the space over for other events. We were able to relax into our own little world, tucked away in the garden. The whole property is lush and vibrant, with tall hedges surrounding it creating a private and quiet space. The rooms themselves are all beautiful, and have the most comfortable pillows ever. We really could not have asked for a more perfect setting for our garden party wedding, and are already looking forward to visiting again soon!

If you’re looking for a perfect stay in Santa Barbara I highly re commend staying at the Simpson House Inn! The location is perfect and close to the best spots to visit in the city and at the same time it’s super quiet! The rooms are so romantic, spacious, clean, comfy and cozy and the staff are AMAZING! I stayed there with my hubby for Valentine’s Day but I’ve also attended to a wedding there which was stunning! I recommend this place to everyone who’s staying in SB!

Among the top three or four hotels I've ever stayed in. Beautiful rooms, great service, beautiful grounds, excellent breakfast... I recommend the carriage house. Very quiet neighborhood but just a quick walk to commercial stuff. Can't wait to go back. I truly hope the flooding in Santa Barbara this winter spares the inn and all its lovely staff.

The hotel grounds are undeniably beautiful. The outdoor seating was peaceful with very little noise from the street. Service during breakfast was warm and prompt. Although, for the price of $500+ a night, we felt the value was lacking. Shower curtains in the tub smelled musty, thin walls/floors and lighting was quite dim in the room. The sheets and towels felt pretty rough. It’s feeling a bit dated in the interior of the room..

The Simpson House Inn is such a beautiful venue with incredible staff. My husband and I held our wedding here and it could not have been more perfect. The house and gardens are so thoughtfully designed and well kept. It created a very private and romantic atmosphere. Having family and friends stay at the venue and being able to get ready on site gave us that extra time to spend with our loved ones while making everything easier on us! The staff were all welcoming and kind. Haley was wonderful to work with throughout the whole process! She was easy to get in touch with and very helpful and accommodating. We appreciate how special everyone made this weekend for us. We can't recommend this venue enough.

We stayed for 3 nights in the lovely two story Plumstead Cottage, which was tucked away in the back corner of the property beneath a large tree. It was thoughtfully set up and very cute. The cottage has a/c, a large walk-in shower, and a mini fridge stocked with complementary water bottles and soda, as well as wine for purchase. There was a wood fireplace and a jacuzzi, neither of which we used. The towels were thick and plush, the bedding luxurious. Lots of little touches were appreciated, like extra toiletries, good quality tissues and toilet paper, wonderfully scented bath soaps, and plenty of large mirrors for getting ready. The heavy hors d’oeuvres, served around 5:30pm every evening, turned out to be a highlight of our stay. We loved the variety and creativity of the dishes. There was also a selection of complementary wine. The hors d’oeuvres were like a light meal, and after a busy day exploring, it was such a relief to not have to go out again to eat dinner. Housekeeping got our room ready early since we arrived early in the day, and that was much appreciated! The staff was wonderful at every interaction, very friendly and attentive. They offer a turn-down service every evening and daily housekeeping service. We had one problem arise with the noise from the contractor doing repair work on their porch, but the issue was addressed and resolved promptly and satisfactorily. My favorite part of the inn was the grounds, a beautiful lush oasis with many seating areas, fountains, huge shade trees, and flowers. Everything is manicured to perfection and designed to soothe and relax. We especially enjoyed sitting by the fire pit one evening.

LOVE THIS PLACE!! Just stayed at Simpson House for my 2nd time. Absolutely perfect! The service is unparalleled, the grounds are beautiful, and just love the location! We were greeted from the moment we pulled-up to the property, and the service did not end there! I was leaving early morning for a bike ride, and it would have been hours before the breakfast opened-up. No problem! Frank was amazing! He got me a coffee maker for my room, and set with some snacks too. TOTALLY AWESOME SERVICE! Love this place!!!!

Breath taking, completely private oasis located in the heart of Santa Barbara. Surrounded by trees, well maintained gardens and best of all a 150 year old oak tree. Plenty of sitting areas to enjoy a relaxed afternoon while enjoying Tea and reading your favorite book. You will be super relaxed while you visit.

My boyfriend and I stayed here a few weeks ago and we didn't want to leave! The inn/room, the grounds are beautiful. We were greeted by Gabriel when we pulled up and given a gift when we checked out. The service along with the food was outstanding! Thank you so much and we'll be back soon!

The Simpson House Inn is a magic place with the most amazing staff. We had our wedding at the Simpson House and it was perfect. The outdoor space is incredibly maintained. The garden, the trees, the lawn – all absolutely pristine. Haley is the best of the best! The cottages on site are all so unique and truly special. Thank you to the Simpson House Inn for hosting our wedding. Our guests could not stop talking about how truly amazing this venue is.

Absolutely beautiful place to stay! The people that work there are great! The rooms are adorable! The breakfast was wonderful! Stayed last June for a few days and loved it! Driving home the other day from up north and called to see by chance if there was a room for one night. Hayley was very nice and able to accommodate us! David remembered us from last year and he was great! The gardens are beautiful!!

Recently stayed here for a weekend getaway with my wife. It was everything we wanted and more. The grounds were beautiful, tranquil and relaxing. We reserved a private cottage and absolutely loved it. The room was clean, charming and well maintained. The staff was amazing and very accommodating to questions and requests. The breakfast was wonderful as was the nightly wine and orderve serving. The overall grounds are spread out enough that even at full capacity you can ALWAYS find a nice spot to sit and talk or have a drink in private. There are several wonderful fountains as well as amazing landscape work to enjoy everywhere. All while still being only a few minutes from the beach as well as shopping or dining. It truly is a great little gem.

Met us as we drove in, showed us the beautiful property, arranged a special welcome for my wife. Our accommodations were romantic, spotless, private and comfortable. The evening wine and cheese was great and the fresh cooked breakfasts on the terrace were exquisite. A gem near the center of Santa Barbara with great customer service. Thanks for a great stay!

Lovely, romantic splurge. A wonderful getaway. Beautifully maintained in with phenomenally manicured gardens. Easy walking distance to Santa Barbara Museum of Art, great restaurants and other sites. Perfect nooks for reading with beautiful inside and outside areas. Plenty of space for everyone to find their own place to relax.

Hard to beat this view for breakfast. This is a nice little b&b in a great part of town. Our room was somewhat small (to be expected in an historic house), but it did have a lovely patio which was wonderful.

Truly the best B&B I’ve ever visited. We were greeted right when we arrived, and had a tour of the grounds. Everything was so beautiful and well-maintained. Hailey was so friendly and answered all of our questions. We arrived just in time for the complimentary afternoon hors d’oeuvres and wine. It was outstanding - a lot more than you would expect. I had enough food that I did not need dinner. Our cottage, the tack room, was stunning- amazing bed and linens, soft radio music, a couch with a fireplace with wood, table and chairs, coffee machine and fridge, closet, luxury shower and vanity, and shutters that actually block the light. We also had chocolates on our pillow. If that wasn’t enough, they also serve cookies and tea at night! We were delighted. Breakfast was good as well- coffee, french press, and juices available. Not to mention pastries and fruit, oatmeal, granola, eggs, and toast. It was really nice. Highly recommend. If we visit Santa Barbara again, we would come back here.

Charming, so lovely at Christmas time, wonderful people, and oh so beautiful home with every detail thought out.

This is an amazing place. Beautiful grounds, beautiful rooms and very good food for breakfast. Coffee and tea options were plentiful and the coffee was quite good. Two options for breakfast: French Press or standard drip coffee. My suggestion to management is to invest in insulated coffee and hot water dispensers for the breakfast tables so the coffee/tea water stays hot. The breakfast staff was very polite, courteous and attentive as they prepared everything we needed for wonderful breakfasts daily. We appreciate your hospitality! Two things to know ahead of time. 1. The smell of wood burning fireplaces permeates the rooms. If you have smoke allergies, know ahead of time they typically burn logs in the morning until about 11am. 2. As you pull into the NARROW gate and driveway, you will see the parking stalls are pointing in the wrong direction. However, you drive all the way to the end of the driveway and flip a "U" then head into a parking place. Because of the challenging entrance/parking, someone from the check in counter typically meets you in the parking lot to help with traffic control etc.

We really enjoyed staying here. The room was spacious and clean and had great amenities. We don’t drink wine so it was not a problem at all, but we weren’t sure if the wines in our room were complimentary or not because Hotels.com said they were but they had a price tag. The bed was comfortable and their garden was beautiful. What we liked most was their Hors d'oeuvre. The scone and fresh juice at snack time were great too. It would have been perfect if they had had non-vegetarian breakfast options.
