A wonderful, calm, restful place to stay. Beautiful individual cabins surround a courtyard where breakfast is served. We have enjoyed coming here for years. Dominique, the owner, is a great hostess.

This is a lovely bed and breakfast. We stayed two nights in the Cardinal room and loved the aesthetic. Came with Room service, bottled water coffee and tea in the room, extra blankets and a warm space heater, fast WiFi. Each morning came with an excellent and very filling French breakfast. The garden is beautiful and relaxing and the inn. Definitely would stay here again.

My friend and I were looking for an affordable option in Santa Barbara when visiting for a wedding and Secret Garden Inn was absolutely perfect. It was so cute, clean and well kept. It felt like you were staying in a friend’s home because it was so cozy and Dominique so welcoming. She went above and beyond with our check in and her homemade breakfasts were incredible - everyone at the wedding heard about her croissants. The location was less than a 10 minute ride from the water and also had plenty of things around to walk to. Highly recommend!!!

Very charming cottage run by French lady. Good service, fully equipped room despite the fact that the cottage is old but they are well maintained and very very clean. Good coffee and croissants served in the morning was very nice. We stayed in the “Woodthrush” which we enjoyed it very much. The main house with two bed rooms are even nicer but they closed it down due to Covid. Private parking in the back. Walking distance to downtown Santa Barbara area.

such a quaint, romantic, and cozy place. the owner, dominique is as inviting and lovely as the space she has made. the complimentary breakfast was a delicious quiche. i was able to communicate my vegetarian dietary preference and still had a filling meal. the hotel cat, peanut is friendly and naps all over the property. would definitely like to return here one day soon.

We had a good time in this place. Clean. Confortable. Good breakfast. Dominique is really good host, she is very attentive. In my point of view there are little details that need to be attended to be a five : the blinds do not cover well the windows, so you will have a lot of light. There are a lot of things in the rooms, so you do not have much space. There are ants, so you need to be careful with food. And something that was not in her control was that neighbors were repairing things so there are a lot of noise in the mornings. The hotel is pet friendly that it is a plus for us.

Fantastic and cozy accommodations with a quaint French feel. Absolutely loved the grounds and the layout of our room. The breakfast that was served in our courtyard each morning was varied and scrumptious. Additionally, the location is perfect with quick access to State Street, 101, and coffee shops and restaurants close by. Best of all, the rates (by Santa Barbara standards) are more than reasonable. Could not recommend this place more and hope to visit again many times.

The owner was very accommodating. She asked us our preferences for breakfast and a convenient time-which many B&B’s do not not do. The breakfast was delicious! This location is ideal-walking distance from the downtown area where there is a wide choice of restaurants. This neighborhood is quaint, well kept and very friendly. Our bed was very comfortable, there is a little fridge in the room if you want to pick up a few snacks or drinks. We have stayed in many B&B’s over the past twenty years and we would definitely recommend this one to family and friends!! The owner is a lovely lady, with an artistic flare and very friendly.

It’s a cute place! Our room was in the main building where we also met a cat. We felt a bit weird arriving there in the evening, no real contact at first with the host. Not knowing if we were there by our self’s. They prepare the breakfast in that building as well. We did not know though that breakfast was not included when booking through Airbnb, felt weird to leave our room or to ask if we could get coffee.. but I’m the end it was super nice that we were offered breakfast on our last day. Room was nice and clean. It’s a 30 min walk downtown. Plus for free parking and was easy to find. We wouldn’t come back though.

We stayed here when attending a wedding in Santa Barbara and loved everything about it. We stayed in Oriole which was in one of the cottages and it was so cozy and cute, and we loved loved the private patio with the the hot tub. We were excited to come back after the wedding and hang out. Also the bed was comfy and shower was great. Dominique was easy to communicate with and her breakfast was fantastic. I wish we could’ve stayed another night but we’ll be back!

And worst at all she is the biggest liar!!!!! Saying that she responded nicely to me? Lady you’re gonna read this: I don’t deserve to stay there? Heck no!!! I don’t you got that totally right! Lastly you know you can make someone’s life happy by just being nice? You having a miserable life does not give you the right to try to make others miserable. All your bad reviews are about your attitude! Change that, I was the one who was polite and nice at all times! I have a video of you showing how disrespectful you are and a liar, you accused me of committing fraud because I brought my son when at the beginning you said it didn’t matter because I was already there and if I didn’t know the he was a person too in the most sarcastic way! I really hope you find peace and happiness, I really feel so sad for you and your life. Trust me I really hope you find peace in your life.

Wonderful place! Close to downtown Santa Barbara and quiet and peaceful. Daily breakfast was very tasty and the owner was very nice and friendly! Would definitely stay here again!

Unfortunately, I had to arrive late. I called in advance like my instructions told me too. The cottages reminded me of a cottage I use to live in when I lived in Lake Tahoe. The rooms and outdoors pathways reminded me of my mom, who passed away in Feb. The flower bedspread and table clothes to the brick curvy pathways. I was delivered Breakfast to my room. I told them the night before a later time for breakfast. But while having dinner with my siblings, they wanted to be on the road at the time I suggested breakfast. The cook did not have any problems making breakfast an hour earlier for me. It is a really relaxing place. I enjoyed the short time I stayed. I needed the peace of mind. It has been a tough year for me, and I left feeling a lot calmer than I did when I left LAX.

Nice quiet getaway. We stayed in the main house and enjoyed it. We are cat people so we enjoyed the resident cat. Breakfast was outstanding. Great location, enjoyed the walk into town. We would stay there again.

This was our most relaxing trip to date. Dominique felt like a long lost cousin and truly made us feel at home. We stayed in the main house and loved it!

It was a very unfriendly experience all around. Those in the cottages are not allowed into the main house stating “due to Covid 19 protocol”. Haven’t seen that at any other place I’ve stayed in the past year. I find the whole idea of a bed and breakfast to be one of meeting new people. I was secluded to my own cottage behind a very tall fence. I only saw one other person the entire time I was there. She delivered breakfast to my patio. No words exchanged at all. Upon checking in, the owner was nonchalant and short with all of the instructions. The hot tub was dirty. I did not use. I texted the after hours number (as instructed if before 7AM and because I could NOT go into the main house to talk to anyone) to request breakfast earlier than I had first stated for my second morning. No text back until hours later (post check out). I replied that I am glad I didn’t have an emergency and told them where I had left my keys. Their reply was “I guess if you had an emergency, you would have called!” WOW! I own a customer service based business and I would die if any of my employees responded like that. And I highly doubt you would have answered the phone anyway! I hate writing this review, but I would never stay there again and I DO NOT recommend this place if you are visiting beautiful Santa Barbara. There are WAY better B&B’s than this one (even on the same street!)

Dominique is a caring, attentive host. The girls and I spent two nights in Woodthrush cottage, enjoying a peaceful atmosphere with comfy, clean and warm bedding, a delicious breakfast, nice guests to talk to, and a sweet kitten for the girls to play with (they're six years old). Thank you, Dominique for a slice of heaven in Santa Barbara. We can't wait to come back!

This is above and beyond one of the coziest and most welcoming experiences I have had in a bed and breakfast. Dominika is a wonderful host and decorates each place to feel like you're coming home to a comfortable place you've been dreaming of. She's attentive, caring and does everything she can to ensure you have a great stay. Also, the property is absolutely gorgeous! Lots of beautiful pathways leading through well kept flowers and gorgeous trees. Thank you for the great stay - I will definitely be back!

In a residential area. Felt very private. Fairly quiet; usual residential area noise - trash pickup, tree trimming. General feeling of safety. All rooms and casitas open into the gardens or to private patios with Jacuzzis. We had a single room. Clawfoot tub/shower. Window AC. Full Breakfast brought to our room every morning: egg dish, fresh croissants, juice, coffee, fruit etc. Very good, very filling. We dined outside on the deck. Private off street parking. There is a really good ice cream shop down the block. Otherwise, we had to drive to restaurants, shops and other entertainment. Dogs allowed. Good value.

Came here with my wife to get away for the weekend. Absolutely phenomenal stay. The room was gorgeous. The service is excellent. The location is the best! Everything we needed was a short walk away. We planned for a no stress weekend and we got it!
