This is a magnificent sanctuary dedicated to the patroness of Cuba, the Virgen of Charity of El Cobre, located in the small town of El Cobre. Thousands of people go there every year to give thanks for her miracles, and there's a pilgrimage on September 8th.

Place very religious for the people in Cuba is property the Catholic Church very clean and wonderful place for praise in the of La Caridad Del Cobre!!!!

Eine berühmte, aber auch schöne Kirche am Rand eines großen Steinbruchs. Achtung! Seit neuestem müssen Frauen hier die Knie verdeckt haben, wenn sie das Gebäude betreten wollen. Albern: Handtuch umwickeln reichte - sehr stilvoll! :-(

Eine Pilgerstätte und für alle anderen eine verrückte Sammlung an Krücken und Geschenken von prominenten Kubanern an die Patrona de Cuba. Die Patrona selbst ist eine kleine Figur, die sehr weit oben steht. Von Hemingways Nobelspreis gibt es nur ein Foto. Hinweis: Zur Basilika führt eine gut ausgebaute Straße, das Parken ist kostenfrei. Navigationsgeräte schlagen aber einen Feldweg vor ... den lieber nicht fahren

Interesting Basilica which a place of pilgrimage for the Cuban. The Virgen is adored all over the country and many people dream of visiting her.

Schöne Kirche mit bestem Ausblick über das Tal und auf die umliegenden Berge. Wenn man in die Kirche hinein will, sollten die Knie bedeckt sein.

I loved the place, it was an excellent experience. The only bad thing is that the vendors keep bothering you outside the place telling you that they are going to give you something for free, but then they ask you for money.

The basilica was beautiful painted and well manicure. It was very easy to get to vía taxi, attended on a Monday and it was very busy. Take enough time to read and take in the beautiful paintings and pictures on the walls. It is about 22 miles west of Santiago de Cuba. There are washroom on the building behind it and will cost u a cut/person.
