Do not let my three star rating discourage you from visiting this Hyatt Regency location. You will receive five star service from check in to check out and that's what will make your stay pleasant. The location offers a beautiful view of the marina. There are so many restaurants within walking distance. The hotel decor is extremely dated. I just didn't get that feeling of being in a "luxury" hotel. The rooms offers all the amenities (robes, slippers, coffee, tea, toiletries). I read s company purchased the hotel and they plan to build another luxury hotel on the site. I enjoyed my stay and will continue staying at Hyatt properties

The hotel was very clean and overall very nice. The hotel staff were also very welcoming and friendly. The only problem is that nothing is included with the room. There is a resort fee of $27 a day and a parking fee of $25 a day. Not to mention there isn’t a complimentary breakfast. Room service is also not available right now.

We were here for the Thanksgiving Dinner. We were very impressed! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Excellent service, delicious food and choices. Wonderful atmosphere. The servers and management were top notch! Beautiful property, very beautiful landscaping and is on the water. Thank you so much 🙏 Our family really enjoyed our holiday dinner. We will most definitely be back for Christmas!

We had the opportunity to stay here at the end of March 2022. It was an overall good experience. The room was clean and well laid out. Great balcony view as well. All of the staff was accommodating and extremely patient and friendly. We went to breakfast in the main lobby restaurant and had a fabulous brunch that I would highly recommend to anyone staying here. We really also really liked that the self parking was very close to the hotel. It felt like a safe place to be in and around the hotel. My only con is in regard to the Hurricane Hut… the drinks seemed to be weak and full of sugar and the food was not super yummy. However, the service was excellent and the portions were large. Again, an overall good experience. I will totally be staying here again if we ever return to Sarasota!

As a loyal elite status World of Hyatt member, I recently stayed at the Hyatt Regency Sarasota, and unfortunately, I cannot recommend it. While the location is convenient for a stay in Sarasota, the hotel left much to be desired from the standpoint of overall hospitality, cleanliness, friendliness, pool area, and restaurant. On a positive note, the valet team was excellent, providing professional, courteous, and fast service with our vehicle. However, our room was not up to standard, as the bathroom was not adequately cleaned, and one of the two beds lacked a layer of blankets, with no spares available in the closet. Additionally, the Chromecast feature did not work despite following instructions on the TV and the app, which was particularly disappointing when traveling with kids. The restaurant's food quality was below average, more comparable to a free breakfast at a 2-star hotel than a 4-star hotel. We ultimately decided to find breakfast elsewhere on the second day of our stay. The coffee bar also failed to meet expectations, as my latte with flavor was undrinkable due to excessive flavoring. The pool area was overcrowded and understaffed, and we suspect that we got sick from ordering poolside food, which had an unpleasant odor and was not worth the high price. Finally, the front desk staff seemed annoyed to be at work. In conclusion, there appears to be a lack of leadership and management oversight at this hotel, as the standards have slipped in every aspect of hospitality. While the hotel's overall vibe felt more like a 2-star Hyatt Place or Hyatt House, I know firsthand how good Hyatt Regency and other 4-star Hyatt properties can be. To get back on track, Hyatt Regency Sarasota requires an energetic leadership injection. As a result of our experience, we will not be returning and will find another place to stay during our next trip to Sarasota. Unfortunately, there are no other 4-star Hyatt properties in the vicinity.

Needs some love. We had the opportunity to stay here for what we felt, before and after our stay was a very reasonable price. I have seen the regency go for way higher and if I were to pay that rate to stay here I’d probably feel a bit different about my review. Pros: It’s a nice hotel very easy parking for guest with vehicles. Easy access and avoids detour construction areas like the Ritz a block away. Very cool pool with huge rock feature great for families who want to soak up some sunshine. Cons: rooms are dated, need some tlc. Rooms looked a bit tired, slight mildew smell from bathroom as well. During our stay the door lock mechanism broke so we had to stand outside of our room and wait for maintenance. Which I understand happens and maintenance personnel was so quick and friendly but sadly the hotel staff at the desk just said “stand by your door and wait” and didn’t seem apologetic about the situation nor provide adequate accommodation or empathy which seems like poor service for a nice brand like Hyatt regency. Another weird one is the lobby bar doesn’t open till fairly late in the afternoon, we would daily see people waiting around for the bar to open. Seems like a revenue machine if they could open that up a bit earlier. Overall for a very fair price it’s a decent hotel option, but I would start to explore for others on my next visit to the area.

Stayed for 10 nights on business. Had a king bed, marina view with balcony. Room and the hotel itself is a bit dated with carpet. It has a great lobby with glass windows facing marina. There's a daily hotel fee, which they will provide bicycles, fishing rods, paddle boards and kayaks to play with. You can also dock your boat as well with a fee. Parking is extra daily. The pool itself is awesome, huge, with a waterfall. Great location near downtown, 12 minutes walk to bars and restaurants. There's a nearby wholefoods as well. Overall a great stay for the location and amenities.

We had the opportunity to stay at this hotel. Overall, it had its ups and downs. But I would recommend it! Positives: view, location, staff, bars, pool and outside area. They have popsicles daily at 12pm and 2pm. Pool area is awesome Negatives: a bit dated decor, beds are extremely firm and the AC was barley working. It was so hot all night. We put the AC on 69 and we were sweating. It’s almost as of it didn’t turn on fully. Overall it was pretty good. That staff was very accommodating. You can’t beat the location and the marina view

Nice hotel with a great pool in a super convenient location! The hotel was exceptionally clean. We had a beautiful view of the bay from our room and balcony. I can’t say enough kind things about the staff at this Hyatt Regency. Marie at the front desk was so accommodating and helpful. She truly went above and beyond in providing customer care. Carmel who was tending bar at the Poolside bar did an amazing job at providing fast and friendly service, even while she was very busy. We truly appreciate the genuine service, assistance, and overall kindness provided by the hotel staff during our stay. We will definitely be back!

We shared two of the busiest days of the year, and loved every second we were here! We stayed July 3rd and 4th for my birthday mini vacation in Sarasota. I was impressed with the room, the view, the food, the staff and the cleanliness... We shared a lot of time at the pool mainly, and had cocktails and lunch in the pool area. After having meals in the dining room, we relaxed in our room and enjoyed the view of Sarasota Bay from the balcony. I felt so welcome and comfortable, I could have stayed the whole month... I'm normally hard to please, but I was truly impressed. I'm Bruno of Venice.

Hotel is clean. Pool is big and nice. Parking is easy. A/C struggled to cool down the room. It is an older building but in a nice area. Fitness room is small, missing 10 and 15 lbs dumbbells. Staff at check in is friendly and helpful.

Great location. Good service with a smile. Beautiful pool and views. Wifi was utterly worthless and wasn't to be serviced until after we left. TV stopped working after we were there for a few hours. Probably not worth the $400+ they want per night, but if you can get a hefty discount and get your rate closer to 200 it's a good choice. When you charge this kind of money for a night, details matter.

what an amazing experience from the moment we walked in. Alex & Marie were outstanding, they made us feel welcome and we enjoyed our interaction with them while checking in. the hotel is beautiful and the vibe is definately Beach side. we loved the pool, what an amazing setup, we made sure to visit everyday. the rooms can use a bit of TLC but we can tell renovations were taking place behind the scenes to try not to disrupt the visitors. I will be staying here the next time we visit Sarasota.

The only reason why I'm giving this 4 stars is because when we attended it must have been a soccer week for kids. There were kids everywhere playing soccer in the hallways and the parents weren't doing anything about it, at 10pm. I have kids so I don't care about that it's the principle. Other than that, room was clean, pool was nice (crowded). Good and drinks very over priced.

10th floor North side with bay view. Nice pool with waterfall. Breakfast buffet looked very nice, but the bacon was salty, and the potatoes were soft. The omelets were pretty good. Carpeting in the restaurant had dark traffic patterns to the few tables that were first seated. Never did see the pool attendant that supposedly was to hand out Popsicles. A lot of pool visitors obviously don't use common sense as management was constantly have to remove coolers, food and drinks from the poolside and people drinking and eating while in the pool. The pool rules are on each gate going into the pool deck with the 1st 2 rule being about food and coolers within 4 ft of the water.

The staff was really friendly and the pool area and other amenities are good but I guess I expected more for rooms from a 4 star hotel. The bathroom had water damage and pieces flaking off the ceiling, the pillows just flatten out when any weight is put on them and they offer zero support. All the vents were caked in dust, overall it just didn’t seem like the quality you would expect from a 4 star Hyatt.

Stayed 3 nights Service was excellent. Staff was very friendly. Valet was very friendly and prompt Location was excellent. Rooms typical for the area. Paid extra for "private balcony" not so private when you can see your neighbor. But atleast we had a balcony. Pillow cases had stains but no big deal, replaced when asked. Hair dryer was actually a good one. Robes added a nice touch. Amenities were great. We utilized the inside bar and never waited too long to get served. The pool was nice and the waterfall added a nice touch.

Stayed Saturday and Sunday night to attend a show at the nearby performance center. The staff were truly excellent and the only saving grace for this tired property. While the staff tries to keep things clean, and our room was clean, the whole place is worn and dated. The furniture in the room was banged up and scratched and it made the room feel like a very low end Holiday Inn located next to a frat house. Everything in the place, including the lobbies and public areas, look like they have been beaten down and in desperate need of replacing and updating. The pool area was grimy and pretty disgusting. The waterfalls at the pool are no longer fully functioning and it makes the pool area look like an abandoned water park. The best thing about this place is the staff. Each person was pleasant and accommodating, especially the parking valet team. They were welcoming and friendly. Kudos to the staff. Ownership needs to open their wallet and do the badly needed renovations.

I was here for a conference and the place was clean and the staff was extremely helpful. The food was also delicious. for the size of the group I was shocked by the staffs attention to detail and ability to move effortlessly around the venue. I hope to attend more conferences at this location and hopefully will have the chance to stay. Also the valet was extremely efficient given the size of the group. Once again I was pleasantly surprised.

We had a great time here! We wanted a hotel with a pool bar and this place delivered. The food and drinks were great. It was also walkable and easy to catch an Uber everywhere we wanted to go! There were free amenities offered that we didn’t even get a chance to take advantage of. We’d definitely return.

We were here for a friend's wedding. We love the pool and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Food here is AMAZING! The brides room shower wasn't working. The repaired it and gave her an upgrade. Our room had a beautiful view but 2 bugs and a ripped carpet. The price of the room is around $300 and then you get additional fees to park here and a "resort" fee which covers the pool and garden and such. If you use it or not you pay extra for it.

My wife and I had the opportunity to stay here for an extended weekend and we loved our experience here. They have great amenities and service. We ate breakfast at the restaurant every morning and good food and great service. We had a little hiccup in our breakfast order one morning but they were very apologetic and attentive and treated us so well. The room was clean and we had a beautiful view of the marina. We even saw dolphins swimming in the marina. The pool was wonderful and the grounds were immaculate. We would definitely stay here again.

No pool towels all day long. The manager was notified and yet still no pool towels. One elevator has been broken. The other elevators are slow and jam-packed when they open. The stairs are not air-conditioned. And the waitress service at breakfast was horrendous. Rethink your booking unless you like the smell of marijuana everywhere. The room and the facility are very clean. The bartenders are fast and very efficient.

We spent 3 nights in June 2023 and had a good experience, mostly because if the staff. The front desk ladies were amazing! They were so friendly and helpful. I loved the location, the rooms, and the balcony. Two things we did not like were the uncomfortable mattresses (spring mattresses). They were stiff and made us feel sore in the morning. The second thing that bothered us was the first night, there were some drunk guests in our floor playing music so loud and talking in the hallway. There was also an incident of other guests throwing stuff off the balcony, kncluding a table! It waa hard for me to go back to sleep, but the hotel security took cafe of the issues immediately. This is definitely not a complaint against the hotel. Overall, we had a nice stay. Just change the mattresses :)

We stayed for two nights. The first 24 hours, only one of the three elevators were working. The second 24 hours, only two of the three elevators were working. Thankfully our room was on the 3rd floor, so we took the stairs, as the line for the elevator was not pretty. Since we took the stairs, we saw food in the stairwell for our entire stay (photos attached). We kept thinking that at some point someone from the hotel would clean up this mess. The pool bar was woefully understaffed. The one afternoon we went to the pool, they were out of pool towels. We alerted an employee who was able to get towels restocked in about 10 minutes. In general, the hotel staff was pleasant and helpful. The hotel location is good, as you can walk to the restaurants and shops in downtown Sarasota, and it’s a short drive to Lido Beach.

Stayed here for 3 nights and couldn’t wait to leave . The bathrooms are dirty the staff is rude and I could barely get toilet paper or towels to the room. We asked for a feather free room said it was taken care of after 2 hours and it wasn’t had to be moved . The buffet breakfast is terrible . There is no where to sit in the lobby the wood chairs are so hard . We loved the valet staff they were amazing

We stayed over the Christmas weekend. Hallway had the ceiling falling apart but our rooms were great. Check in process was a pleasure. Valet was great. On Christmas Day the hostess at the restaurant had uncomfortable unwelcoming vibes. We changed our minds about having Christmas dinner there. The bartender was slow and gave off “I don’t want you to be here” vibes as well. Overall: rooms and customer service are good except in the food and beverage department.

The pool area is fun, if not a little cold. Great view though, very pretty. The hot tub was nice but somewhat small. The pictures are deceiving because there are no water falls cascading. You can see that they once worked. Now onto the rooms. They are dated forsure, bathroom is super dated/small/dark. Our chair was very stained so I had to put a sheet over it. Elevator is slow slow slow and their are basically Only 2 possibly 3. Kind of a lipstick On a pig type Scenario. Would stay somewhere else Next Time. If you’re not picky though this would Be fine.

Promoted as being on the water which is not accurate... it's on a narrow channel with a dock. But other than that, the room was nice, clean and pleasant. The bed was comfortable, bedding inviting and overall comfortable. Pool was too full with kids and not enough chairs around the pool. It would be nice if there were 2 people at the food hut at the poolside. The lady working there wavery efficient but seemed to be overworked even though she had a smile on all the time. Overall a pleasant stay.

The hotel was great. My wife and I were spending some much needed time relaxing. The front desk manager, Serena, made sure we were taken care of. They delivered snacks and bottled waters to our room shortly after we arrived and came to clean every day. We had one issue that we brought up to the front desk and they apologized for those employees and gave us 2 drink vouchers. Would stay here again.

Beautiful hotel & outside pool. Huge open meeting rooms with professional video conferencing. Helpful & efficient staff. Continental breakfast served for a meeting buffet style. Good selection of bagels, muffins, & coffee, juice & tea. Lots of parking . Faster to take 301 instead of busy 41 with multiple lights :)

  • 4/5 Ed L. 1 year ago on Google
Pros: Beautiful hotel. Nice views. Accommodating staff. Very nice pool and pool bar. Very comfortable rooms. Cons: 15-20 minute walk to downtown. Not enough chairs or umbrellas at the pool. Expensive self parking. Free shuttle service is a joke(once an hour and limited service). Very few gluten-free or allergy options on the menus. NO BEACH .

  • 4/5 Bill W. 1 year ago on Google
Stay was a good time. Parts of the hotel do seem dated. Staff are 5 stars. Pool area was great. What I liked less is hotel had a convention and a cheer group event during my dates. They used the common space that at times took away from use of those not part of the events.. such as lobby seating area. Wish it was different. They have activities to do off site but what I would have liked is a good shuttle program to other areas or the beach. I did see a shuttle to a restaurant if you wanted to leave to eat. While mentioning food it's a bit limited. When I looked for dinner I noticed half the menu was same as offered at the pool. We had a mid sized car rental if your going into downtown get a car as small as you can. Great beaches and restaurants easy drive to visit.
