As
a
loyal
elite
status
World
of
Hyatt
member,
I
recently
stayed
at
the
Hyatt
Regency
Sarasota,
and
unfortunately,
I
cannot
recommend
it.
While
the
location
is
convenient
for
a
stay
in
Sarasota,
the
hotel
left
much
to
be
desired
from
the
standpoint
of
overall
hospitality,
cleanliness,
friendliness,
pool
area,
and
restaurant.
On
a
positive
note,
the
valet
team
was
excellent,
providing
professional,
courteous,
and
fast
service
with
our
vehicle.
However,
our
room
was
not
up
to
standard,
as
the
bathroom
was
not
adequately
cleaned,
and
one
of
the
two
beds
lacked
a
layer
of
blankets,
with
no
spares
available
in
the
closet.
Additionally,
the
Chromecast
feature
did
not
work
despite
following
instructions
on
the
TV
and
the
app,
which
was
particularly
disappointing
when
traveling
with
kids.
The
restaurant's
food
quality
was
below
average,
more
comparable
to
a
free
breakfast
at
a
2-star
hotel
than
a
4-star
hotel.
We
ultimately
decided
to
find
breakfast
elsewhere
on
the
second
day
of
our
stay.
The
coffee
bar
also
failed
to
meet
expectations,
as
my
latte
with
flavor
was
undrinkable
due
to
excessive
flavoring.
The
pool
area
was
overcrowded
and
understaffed,
and
we
suspect
that
we
got
sick
from
ordering
poolside
food,
which
had
an
unpleasant
odor
and
was
not
worth
the
high
price.
Finally,
the
front
desk
staff
seemed
annoyed
to
be
at
work.
In
conclusion,
there
appears
to
be
a
lack
of
leadership
and
management
oversight
at
this
hotel,
as
the
standards
have
slipped
in
every
aspect
of
hospitality.
While
the
hotel's
overall
vibe
felt
more
like
a
2-star
Hyatt
Place
or
Hyatt
House,
I
know
firsthand
how
good
Hyatt
Regency
and
other
4-star
Hyatt
properties
can
be.
To
get
back
on
track,
Hyatt
Regency
Sarasota
requires
an
energetic
leadership
injection.
As
a
result
of
our
experience,
we
will
not
be
returning
and
will
find
another
place
to
stay
during
our
next
trip
to
Sarasota.
Unfortunately,
there
are
no
other
4-star
Hyatt
properties
in
the
vicinity.
