For those who like us are averse to touristy places where the world and its cousins converge, this Château is your answer to avoiding Versailles. The gardens are laid out impeccably. even though the main castle is much smaller, this is the 100 year so it’s special.

Château isn’t particularly fabulous, but the grounds designed by same landscape designer as Versailles and Vaux le Vicomte are stunning!

The castle is quite small, but has a nice exhibition of paintings and furniture and the entry is only 4 euros! The gardens are stunning and very extensive, plus they're free to visit anytime. Great place for a picnic, or to play with kids and dogs.

Nice, small Château. I loved to walk around the park 🚶, even though there was not much shade🌞. Nice small garden flowers 🌻🌸🌹🌺

That place is magical with an unique atmosphere! It feels like you are back in time and any moment behind the corner will appear a beautiful lady wearing crinoline who smiles shy to an elegant gentleman. Soon the caret will catch up and take them and the place will become again idle and peaceful...

Beautiful park, dogs allowed, which is an exception in Paris parks and gardens. The wonderful cherry trees blossoms in April. Easy to get there by public transport.

Amazing place to visit during a sunny day, many people come around to jog, walk and run as there is a huge area to be covered in the park. A good place to get your kids for picnics.

Château de Sceaux has amazing grounds but, being a newer Château (on the site of an older one), the park seems too grand/large for the house. The scale and symmetry which French gardens are known for is off at this location. That being said, the grounds are expensive and impressive. I saw one of three fountains which were on here (but it was a simple one) ... such grand fountains in France yet, they are rarely functioning.

Beautiful classical castle in the middle of a beutiful park, can get crowded in the spring and summer but it's a lovely place to have a picnic or go for a run

Great museum located in the domain of Sceaux. Paintings, sculptures and old-time renovated settings are what to expect when visiting the castle (rebuilt in the 19th century). First weekend of the month: free entrance. Combined tickets to get access to the Orangerie and the Ecurie. No explanation in English though

One can go there by RER train. Very french taste. I like to go by car and the parking is normally adequate. And it is free of charges, not like the one at Versailles, too expensive for just a few hours, 12€.

A very beautiful castle which was destroyed aa a consequence of the French Revolution but rebuilt only 50 years later, in the "deuxième empire" style. While the building and its exhibits are beautiful, the gardens are gorgeous. No one less than Le Notre designed and realized the spacious mix of park, forest and water. There is a phantastic slope of fountains leading to a huge pond, and a canal which is 1,4 km long. A pavillion with a huge ceiling painting from Le Brun and an old Orangerie with marble statues are completing the scenery. When you leave the Peripherique at Porte d'Orléans, it is about 20 min. driving there.

Very nice area full of green corridors and perfectly cut trees. Castle is like all other renaissance castles but still cute to look at.
