I was hoping to visit it with my daughter during our 2h wait between our 2 flights. Unfortunately, I had not read any information that we couldn't access the terrace from inside the airport. A better explanation would have been appreciated to avoid my child to be disappointed.

Lovely place to spot planes and watch the planes take off. You get to see the planes real close as well. I sat under the KLM Fokker 100 while spotting planes. I had a good view of both runways.

Take the escalators up to the roof of Schipol’s terminal building and enjoy a great view of Europe’s fourth busiest airport. The panorama terrace is pure heaven for plane-spotters and there are enough binoculars outside to see the planes landing and taking off in great detail. If you’re interested in the history of aviation, then pop into the Fokker 100 located here. You can take a look at the cockpit, see how suitcases are stored in the luggage room and learn about Dutch aviation pioneer Anthony Fokker. Admission to the panorama terrace and the Fokker 100 is free and available to anyone with the slightest interest in airplanes.

Nice good view of the planes at the gates. If you are lucky you notice some pilots waving to you. The Fokker on the deck is also nice with information about the history of KLM and Schiphol. Not really great that the extra line of fences is still there, would be much better if that will be removed. It is free of any charge and you can always just enter, it can be closed when the weather is rainy or with storms and snow

Love it here, great views although not all runways at AMS are visible

Good place at Schiphol to get some... fresh air. It's free and there is a café. A few decades ago it was much larger, but understandably safety concerns have also changed. I don't know why temporary metal fences have been placed, pushing viewers further away from the edge. Fokker 100 PH-OFE is conserved on the terrace, as seen on my picture from the D pier a while after visiting.

Never knew you can get so close to a plane without having any plans to fly. Found this place after more than 10 visits to the airport. An awesome place to visit when you have ample time to kill before u board ur flight. You also have a life size demo plane with cockpit view. 100 % Recommended

My favorite place to come by in Schiphol Airport whenever I have waiting time between transport. Next to the beautiful view of airplanes in transit, there is also a Fokker airplane show model, which was used by KLM a long time ago. You can see how the cockpit looked like, sit for a moment, and read a brief history of Schiphol Airport as well as Dutch aviation. Just be mindful of wind and airplane fuel fume if you are not a fan of those. All in all, a great stop every time!

This is situated inside Schiphol hotel. It's a nice terrace to watch planes landing, parking and taking off. There is an old KLM cittyhopper on the terrace where people can get in and see how the cockpit looks like and take pictures.

Absolutely fantastic, would recommend to anyone. It was incredibly foggy when we went but even that didn't spoil it for us. Great views of the apron, taxiway and runway. Perfect for anyone who is interested in that sort of thing

Absolutely great place to have an overview of Schiphol airport, no entry fees apply!

A nice little place to be if you are waiting for your flight and have little to do. There are binoculars at the terrace but they were fenced off when we came. The glass was also pretty dirty but we still got a good view!

A perfect preflight treat. It is FREE. Its definitely free but bit hidden away lifts and escalators to access and return. Good view very hot this weekend so take care if it is a sunny hot day. Great to watch planes land and taxi to their stands. The roar of the take off is dramatic too. I like to try and guess the airline by their tail colours. There is a cafe close by and there are tables and seats too. Access to the balcony edge rail has been restricted but you can still get close and have great views.

Great place to while away a few hours if you are early or your plane is delayed. View all the action on the main Schiphol runways from the roof, explore the old Fokker plane open to the public, or grab a snack or drink from the cafe (closes at 5pm).

This is a quiet oasis on top of a busy airport. I found this on a long layover, and if you hate the crowds as much as me then this is the place to go. You don't get a good view of the runways unless you have binoculars.

The flight deck is free, and accessible on excellent hours as long as the weather ia not too bad. Highly recommended for the little kids, they can enter the old Fokker airplane on display there and in the distance you can see the planes taking off and landing.

Amazing scenery, amazing panorama! It has an amazing view of the aircraft taking off from 2 runways, and if you are lucky just like me, you can spot the exclusive KLM 100th anniversary Boeing 787 livery!

Great place to kill time for free at Schiphol airport. You can access this before check-in / security. There is a nice terrace restaurant if you feel hungry. There's a retired Airbus 380 nicely decorated for the kids to enjoy.

Amazing terrace. Great for watching planes. Love going here to spend quality time. Used to be a bit bigger, but still great.

This is a good viewing point for the busy Schiphol Airport. Free entry. Excellent! Lift access so wheelchair and limited mobility friendly. Good seating availability with some sheltered. The Cityhopper F100 on the viewing terrace was interesting and novel! Plus a very good café right there. Very good coffee. No hot food served when I visited but it was definitely the winter season. I would certainly visit again...!

The terrace gives a nice view of the apron and some parts of the runways. But what annoys me is that the staff can’t manage to open it on time.

The best place on earth if you want to relax around aircrafts Note: the bar and restaurant at the deck are closed food and drinks available inside the airport

  • 4/5 Thomas D. 1 year ago on Google
It gives you a nice view of the planes, though usually planes take off from other strips (further away). If the airport is busy, you might have trouble reaching the terrace, so pick a quiet day.
