Honestly could not have asked for a better experience! This was my first trip to Romania and in 10 days, Vlad covered so much. He’s like a human encyclopedia but much friendlier and warmer. He was able to use his passion, his knowledge and his warmth to show me and my travel group some of the best and most authentic places possible. I don’t think I’ll ever do a Romanian tour with anyone else.

Romania Thrills crafted a 6 day tour to experience the 3 major cultures of this fascinating country. It was expertly researched and conducted by guides of the three different ethnicities. Romanian Thrills did a superb job. Each of the guides really knew the history and culture of their own ancestry. They were personable, interesting and answered my many questions in excellent English. In July 2022, I spent a delightful 11 days on the “Myths and Legends of Transylvania” tour offered by Romanian Thrills. I’d been intrigued by Romania for decades before I decided a few years ago that a trip there might be possible. The pandemic may have put things off for a while, but it allowed me to carefully check out and communicate with several tour options and operators. Romanian Thrills does not offer “ordinary” tours. Their tour groups are small - very small - usually with a 6-person maximum, although they can tailor a tour for larger groups. The co-owners Vlad Blaj and Georgiana Anicai focus on sustainable tourism. Their vast knowledge and small group emphasis enable them to take you to lesser-known “hidden gems” (like seeing Copsa Mare fortress and staying in a restored historic home in town) as well as better-known destinations such as Bran Castle, Viradru Lake, and the Libearty Bear Sanctuary. Their itinerary included plenty to enjoy and adequate time to relax. But flexibility was built in too - a later morning start, an added visit to a site of special interest, a wine tasting in a castle basement. And the “Myths and Legends of Transylvania” tour included several surprises … I won’t spoil them. From my first inquiry to our continuing sharing of photos and stories post-trip, Romanian Thrills responded in a prompt, professional, and organized way. This was my first trip to Europe, and it will probably be my only visit there. What a memorable, long-anticipated experience. It exceeded my expectations and I expected a great deal! The most treasured and memorable experiences I take from my time in Romania are those connected to being with Georgiana and Vlad: they ran a comfortable and exciting tour, they know and love their country, they are relaxed and good-humored, and they are amazingly sensitive to participants’ needs. I can’t think of any better tour guides or personal ambassadors for Romania.

Did the Untouched Romania Tour and had an amazing time and worth the experience. The activities were fun and I felt like I left Romania achieving many things due to Vlad having our back. The accommodations were nice and had beautiful scenery. The two that stood out that I loved was Ravens Nest and Transylvania Log Cabins. Vlad's knowledge about the places and history is brilliant and as a person he is approachable and friendly. Would highly recommend Romania Thrills and will hopefully return to do another tour.

I did the Untouched Romania tour and let me tell you, untouched is the perfect word to describe some of the locations we visited. Some of the activities were challenging, but so gratifying at the end. They carefully select each accommodations to be unique and charming. Vlad's knowledge of Romania and its history is impressive. Romania might not be on everybody’s travel list, but it should be. I’ve had an amazing time in Romania and I can not wait to visit again.

Georgiana and Vlad from Romanian Thrills organized the perfect personalized trip for me and my friends that travelled from abroad for my wedding. They were extremely knowledge, open and friendly throughout the planning process. I have shared with them only a rough idea of what we would like to do, budget and duration and they just made the magic happen! They offered us an amazing, personalized tour that included boutique accommodations, hidden gems of things to see and do, very hands-on experiences, absolutely delicious food …. and this is just to name a few of the things that were included! As a Romanian myself, that has travelled quite a bit in the country I was extremely impressed by what they have put together – many experiences were extremely new for me as well (they really do know their hidden gems!). Organization was spotless: extremely comfortable transportation was included, only the best accommodations and the nicest support throughout the trip. In fact, Vlad was with us the entire trip, never getting tired to help out, share anecdotes and jokes, answer all our questions and just taking really good care of us (even sharing surprise snacks and water). I really could not recommend them enough to anyone that is looking for an unique way to discover Romania. 100% authentic, fun and worry free.
