Truly amazing! The building itself was beautiful but the collection was also very well organised, with information in the form of diagrams (easy to read) and information even up to the modern day. The exhibits were also interesting, especially the photos giving us a glimps to the past.

This place is the ground zero for the new Romania after liberalism. Almost all historical places including famous theaters are around. Possible to reach here by subway as far as I understand from my short tour around here. Must see when in Bucharest.

This museum was a small surprise for me, as it is not well known, but it provides a lot of information about the city’s and the country's history. The main exhibition provides a deep dive to the history from the ancient age, up to the current ages, including the Communist era. It is really interesting for history lovers as it is well organised and the amount of info is the right one. Apart from that, there are a few temporary exhibitions. When I visited, the two more interesting were the Gheorghe Tatarescu one (Romanian painter) and the one with the portraits of the Communist era leaders and how these were used to promote them.

(Translated by Google) Impressive! Everything smells of history, culture and art! I stayed two and a half hours and didn't feel the time. Impressed everything here! From the building, which I love, to the latest evidence of the revolution, which ended my visit. I recommend to all those who stay or go through Bucharest, to stop here for a daily disconnection, for knowledge and emotion. (Original) Impresionant! Totul miroase a istorie, cultura si arta ! Am stat doua ore si jumatate si nu am simtit cand a trecut timpul. M-a impresionat totul aici!

This exhibition was set up in 2015 and works backwards, explaining the history of Bucharest from 1989 backwards. There is a lot of reading ( in English) but it is easy to understand. The History of Bucharest is traced back to the mid 15th century and then to Bronze Age, Iron Age etc. Quiet, we were the only ones there. Entrance fee 10 Lei and we stayed about an hour and a half. It helped me to understand the history of the city.

A nice old mansion, former 200 year palace. Today is the main location of Bucharest City Museum. Is a nice historical island just in the heart of Bucharest. A nice place for art exhibitions and cultural events. The masterpiece is an imperial stair reflected in a Murano glace opening access to 1st floor tresors. You have one day to stay in Bucharest. Put Sutu Palace on your must to see list.

Definitely worth to visit. There are three exhibitions, 2 temporary, 1 permanent. When we went there the temporary ones were about salt extraction and industry in Romania and Romanian art throughout different centuries. They were interesting, but the best part was the history part for sure. You find yourself in a journey starting from communism in Romania to Stone Age. You can learn many things about what Romania went through over the years and there are also very nice pictures showing the city now and then. The price is 10 lei per person, and if you are a student it is only 5 lei, but you are not allowed to take pictures. If you want to do so, you need to pay 15 lei more.

(Translated by Google) A museum of medium quality ... Much potential, however, is enough. The building is beautiful, but the maintenance leaves it to be desired - the scratching floor and the interior seem lacking in brilliance. It is a traditional museum with many small text explanations. Especially for the communist period. For this reason it will not have any success to the younger audience. There are several exhibits that attract attention (for example Constantin Brancoveanu's ceremonial sword) but they are not properly presented. I liked that they had exhibitions about the 1989 Revolution during this period (Original) Un muzeu de calitate medie...Mult potențial însă mai e destul lucru. In special pentru perioada comunista.

We were on our way to another museum, stumbled on this one and decided to go in. The ticket is only 10 lei. If you want to take pictures you have to pay another 15 lei. But most of the pieces are behind glass so it's difficult to take good pictures - just keep in mind if you are wondering if you should pay for taking photos or not. The building is beautiful. There were many interesting exhibits from Bucharest history. We loved it.

I am glad that this beautiful palace houses the Bucharest Museum. There are maps of the city from different eras and see how the city developed. It's a pity that the light is weak and you don't have close access to the map to see well. I came hearing about an exhibition with statues of Cornel Medrea. There were only a few, but I don't regret visiting the museum.

The building itself used to belong to a noble family. The museum's exhibition is moderate in size, but nicely details the history of Bucharest throughout the ages. Particularly detailed and eye opening is the section about communism. Highly recommend

I visited this museum on a Sunday, the price is 10 Ron for adults and 5 Ron for children / students (if you want to take pictures there is an extra tax -15 Ron) There are 2 levels. *At the ground floor there are 3 rooms with pictures and interesting informations. *On the second one there is a "maze" with the history of Bucharest (chlotes from 40', weapons from different centuries etc.) The information are in English also.

It is worth visiting for the history of the place and for part of the exhibition. Easily accessible, easy to walk, memorable. The lack of the 5th star is due to the poor maintenance of the building

Very beautiful museum right in the heart of Bucharest. A lot of interesting facts from communist era to ancient times, from ceausescu to paleolithic inhabitants that lived on the fields around Bucharest. Old costumes or guns, everything related to old Bucharest is found here. More than that, you can admire a lot of paintings created by well known Romanian artists. On the downside, you cannot pay by card, and you have to pay a 3 euros tax to take photos. Really stupid custom in a lot of Romania’s museums. More than that, the museum’s employees will follow you everywhere, making in feel like a thief.

Very nice museum with lots of things to know about the city of Bucharest, although most of the items refers to comunism and ancient times. The downside of the whole visit is that I came to visit the museum with two retired friends living abroad and they didn't have the half priced tickets because they were not Romanians. Tell me please how many retired Romanians visited the museum?

(Translated by Google) For me, the Suțu Palace was, from my childhood, one of the buildings that brought me, through her mere sight, a great joy. To visit, I visited him as a grandmother. That is why, please reconsider the possibility of enjoying the exhibits that play a large part in the history of the places where Bucharest is today. The interior is imposing. The rooms, which once housed one of the most important families of the century. XIX, they are beautiful. With a little imagination you can "see" and feel the beauty of those times.

(Translated by Google) The history of this Palace begins in 1834, an emblematic building full of beauty considered at that time avant-garde. A symbol building for the city of Bucharest, a building that breathes our history. Too little used, known. "Based on the problems related to the maintenance of the Suţu Palace, after the Second World War, the communist authorities even raised the question of its demolition. However, the Suţu Palace escaped from the communist bulldozers and in 1948 it is declared a historical monument." Worth a visit! "În baza problemelor legate de întreţinerea Palatului Suţu, după al Doilea Război Mondial, autorităţile comuniste au pus chiar problema demolării lui. Palatul Suţu a scăpat, însă, de buldozerele comuniste şi în 1948 este declarat monument istoric. " Merita vizitată!

The museum is beautiful inside, however 15 minutes after paying the ticket (when we were told we had 1 hour) we were asked to return the following day. The next day there was apparently an electric problem so we could not enter... though it was not a very convincing excuse as there were lights on inside. We were disappointed to not be able to visit it properly.

What a delightful setting in the Șuțu palace: from heavy neolithic pots to Pallady nude poses, fine flapper dresses & a Penny Farthing bike, from royal regalia to Communist catastrophe, it’s all here in history: București să trăiești. 10,000 lei taxă ptr tovarișii sau 10 Ron noi ptr hipsterii.

A special note is the abolition of his memorial house. We can also find other works by Pătrașcu and the Stork family but also other historical things of the city in certain periods. Not far from this place is the T. Aman museum on Str. C.A ROSETI nr 6. Here for a short time, the painter's work is restored, restored, entitled "portrait of my mother". Interestingly, it was painted after the death of his mother and is designed from memory. The exhibition, symbolically also bears a significant title "mother's return to the artist's house." For art lovers, I gladly recommend visiting the museum that the artist designed. Otherwise, the museum looks very good, but in such conditions, I would not revisit it (Original) În atâția ani de văzut muzee, niciodată nu am mai văzut așa muzeografe lipsite de bun simț.

The museum concentrates on the history of the region where Bucharest is located and the history of the town and city. The visitors are taken a bit unusual, from the communism times back to the neolithic era. Lots of reading, but the expositions are well described. Also the museum shows Bucharest before the changes in the 70s (flattening of hills and demolitions of several districts) - for me the best visualization was on the movie at the ground level.

Really nice museum, beautiful old building. You’ll be impressed by the huge mirror and the reversed clock. A pity they chose to charge separately for taking pictures - it’s free publicity for you guys. Also you cannot touch a thing - pther museums in Europe have a hands on section.

Very interesting place and in good shape. The staff doesn't speak English and they are constantly around you. I guess the surveillance cameras don't work.

They always organize nice expositions, at this museums. A building with a long and somehow tragic history. Very very interesting.

Small but good variety exhibit. Few stunning artifacts and trinkets of the old times. Friendly staff. Beautiful old staircase that takes your breath away.

The first place I visited on way to lodging. Had to both backpack and suitcase in lobby. Paid photo tax to take photos inside. Has a grand staircase and ceiling.

Temporary exhibition Corneliu Baba was real good: getting a glimpse of his creative approachs, in combination with having the opportunity of reading some of his inner thoughts, certainly gets you closer, in a more comprehensive way, to this magnificent Romanian painter.

The palace is very well preserved. You actually go back in time when you visit it. Unfortunately, I can't say the same about the furniture and the objects in the palace. For example, the huge Murano mirror has been replaced with another ordinary mirror from contemporary times.

We have just been robbed by the employees over there, as we have been allowed to enter the gallery at 17:33 and not been informed that the gallery will be closed in less then 25 minunets since the moment we entered. Also we have asked the clerc if there is enough time to visit and he said, yes. They have forced us out at 17:50, whith alot of raisd voices like we have pupretated the remesis. If someone whats to visit the whole gallery, you will need at least an hour to complete it or maybe even more. It was my first and last time there, so a big thanks to the personell!

Museum of the city of Bucharest is a beauty in itself. Temporary collections are small but every time I come here I find something special, something that fits my current projects and mood. Permanent collection is worth visiting even if you been here before. They always change some things and add something new. For book lovers they always have some examples of medieval books and documents.

The building is built beetween 1833-1835 and is one the oldest and unchanged aristocratics residence in the city. Exceptional architecture inside, cheap ticket and lots of exhibits to see.

The building doesn't look very well cared on the outside (in fact no romanian building does), so the inside was a surprise. very well maintained. It tells the whole story of bucharest, a lot of historical content. I loved the initial explanation about how we were going back in time there to rethink the present. note: a boy maybe 7 or 8 years old who I think was the son of the receptionist was always greeting all visitors. he is very friendly and brings joy to the place! I'll never forget him.

Some items quite interesting. Welcoming employees. Much too warm inside, November. They probably do not understand that people taking photos and posting them are free promoters, so they ask for a tax to let you take pictures.

Interesting, but we asked what's the order of visiting the lady said it doesn't matter. We ended up going from a Communism expo to the Stone Age. So when facing the huge mirror go left and then visit the other side.

Practical information here that fills in the gaps about what life was like during Ceausescu years. Very informative and impressive (English descriptions as well as Romanian) through the years from peasant to present. I enjoyed the art gallery. I wanting to know more around the city. The price is very low for what you experience. 5 stars.
