I think it is the most beautiful museum that exhibits frozen animals. We waited 20 minutes at the entrance and it was worth it. We really liked the family interior. definitely deserves its money. All animals look real. The backgrounds and the movements of the animals are designed very realistically. Definitely add this museum to the list on our Bucharest trip. There is also a souvenir purchasing section, a souvenir printing machine. Here you can pay by credit card.

Excellent museum for children and adults alike. The building comprises three floors on which we can see very detailed dioramas of a wide range of animals from all around the world. There are also numerous oddities, such as fossils or dinosaurs skeletons, but my favorite one was the dodo's skeleton, which is a good example of what merciless hunting can lead to. We can also see collections of rocks and minerals and lots of insects, so this is very much a paradise for taxidermists and entomologists. A very enriching experience. Highly recommended.

My 3yo kid was very excited about everything. The dioramas are well made. But what I like the most, is the butterfly exhibition. I come every year for that.

Great museum for young and old. Very well organized exhibitions and Interesting topics covered. I recommend it more for people with kids but on a day like Tuesday when other galleries and museums were closed, this surprised us in a very pleasing way. Well time spent.

Very modern museum. You can see animals and plants not just from Romania and Europe, but from all over the world. On the corner of piata de victoria. Clean, organized and beautiful place. I suggest the visit. It costed 20 lei )4€).It is a very big and interesting museum. I suggest at least 1- 1.5 hour of visit.

It's a great place to see, especially with children. They have a lot to learn and it generates interesting conversations but unfortunately it lacks the interactive aspect i would expect to find in such a museum. Worth the while 🙂 I especially liked the cave .

Kinda became a big let down. The good reviews are from people visiting it only one time and having nothing to compare it against, I guess it's fascinating. This review is for the maintenance staff which seem that don't do their job since the last renovation took place. None of the QR codes work, none of the monitors work, none of the projectors work. And I'm sure nobody complains about that.. because they're the first time there. I visited right after the museum was reopened in 2011. Since then, every year, something would break down and not be fixed or replaced. Most of the stuffed animals were there before the renovation, but the technology added failed miserably. This USED to be the best museum in the country. Not anymore

Nothing special tbh. 3 floors and the exhibits become better as you go up. The bottom floor has poorly painted models. Lots of English information which is a good thing and some of the displays are impressive. Staff are very friendly. Very poor gift shop. 40 lei price. Not really worth it

The most interesting museum in Bucharest! The line can be hours long on the weekends so be careful which day you choose to go. The ticket was very affordable and I would recommend to get the ticket with the entry to all of the different sections. It’s a big museum to go through and so interesting! Great for kids and for adults as it’s beautiful to spend an hour or two learning facts about the beauty of nature.

There is a lot to see and each selection of animals has explanations. A good exhibition - especially the unique skeleton of an extinct elephant relative species. The info could be updated and made to be more consistent in terms of structure. Probably the best in Bucharest!

A nice museum to spend some time. Definitely not 3 hours like some people say expect if you want to read every single label about every single stuffed animal plus to take it a photo. In general we enjoyed it and took us around an hour maximum. The ticket price is 4 euro for adults. If you have kids with you for sure they are gonna enjoy it.

Great experience for children of all ages. The museum has been refurbished some four five years ago and is much more interesting. It's a window on nature and past times and natural history. It's got some exhibits for visually impaired people and Braille explanations. Also, not pricy.

A very cool and interesting museum. All figures of animals, birds and marine inhabitants are made in such detail, it is incredible. I highly recommend a visit, not only children will be delighted, but also adults. Reviewing everything takes a lot of time, it took us about 2 hours, but it was worth it. Even if you go there again, it will still be very interesting.

One of the most interesting museums I have ever seen, amazingly curated and suitable for anyone, not just for children. Each habitat has plants and animals recreating a dynamic scene, with incredible attention to details. The Danube delta turns out to be home to a huge variety of flora and fauna.

It might have been a nice place once ,but now with corona... there were no headphones, no screens were working, no useful information...so our experience was feeling that the exhibitions are very randomly connected and the written explanations truly tiresome to read. It could have been much better with screens working. But with nothing interactive working (even the one screen that worked opened on a Google search??). On the positive side, I did like the temporary exhibition downstairs but you have to buy a separate ticket. It has a beautiful collection of rocks. I hope they become more visitor friendly.

Online tickets entry was EMPTY, you should get your tickets online to avoid extra time spent in the queue! The museum is quite nice, considering its age, not too crowded (covid measures are really applied), very well organized and interesting for both young and adult ones! Great experience!

Nature science museum featuring permanent and temporary collections, with natural-size animal figures from Romania and all over the world. The museum also has Braille signs and facilities for people with locomotor disabilities. A must-do for people visiting Bucharest for the first time, especially if you’re with children, but not only. I recommend buying the tickets online, because there is usually a queue that you can skip if you do so. Visiting the whole museum takes about two hours.

An interesting 3-storey place for children from 5 till 13 y.o. For adults are not so interesting, it would be more interesting in the sector of human anatomy, if you can touch the bones, muscles, copulas. And it seems to me that the taxidermist didn't like cats, nearly all stuffed animal of the cats are weird(see the photos)))

In the museum, you move from one environment to another, you get to know different animals.. and also you move from the era of dinosaurs to the current times.. there is a section of precious stones within the section of geology .. and many, many more .. I personally enjoyed a lot .. but it is more suitable for children

National museum of natural history is considered one of the most prestigious and well organised museums of the world. Grigore Antipa was administrator of the museum for 51 years and Grigore Cerchez was the architect of the building. You can buy tickets online or direct in location. The price is 20 lei for adult and 5 lei for students. The permanent exhibition present different ecosystems and is quite impressive and mesmerising. Also there are some temporary exhibition (like the butterfly one) and some educational events organise by the staff. The program is always updated on the site. Definitely worth the visit!

Please sell water there as it is terrible to walk in hot weather to come to visit the museum and find out that there is no water there. The exhibition covers a large spectrum, from animals, insects, and fishes to humans, the exhibits looks aged, you can clearly see that most of them had better times, but considering that it is a museum from Grigore Antipa times, I can see somehow why they don't replace the aged exhibits. Overall, I consider the museum quite educational for kids and teenagers and for sure it is a must if you are from or you visit Bucharest. I recommend to the managers to pay more attention to the restauration and to bring fresh exhibits and experiences that are included in a better cost pack.

Well put together, lots of things to see, 2h will do for the complete tour, unless you're very thorough. Many of the wildlife exhibits, though still in great shape, are pretty old and have amazingly survived the ww2 bombing that nearly destroyed the building - like the family of gorillas on the1st floor.

I love going here, I go maybe three times a year, you learn about animals, where they live, you see the stuffed animals in their environment and imagine stumbling upon one in our forests. Sometimes the electronic information panels don't work but there are also physical pannels. NOT FRIENDLY FOR WHEEL CHAIRS. The tour begins with going by stairs to the lower level. I did not see an elevator or a ramp :(. Maybe you should call in advance. We had our daughter in a baby stroller and had to carry it on the stairs. Nice gift shop, we bought educative books, not necessarily rare but I don't see them in your usual book shop.

It has braille for the non-seeing tourists with history and animals' images, but also awesome expositions for the tourists. The tour itself around the museum is unidirectional and really, really intuitive. Good experience overall. One thing I would critique is the way the expositions are placed, without much coherence. Still great though, my favorite part were the gemstones.

I prefer this way. Being vegan, it is difficult to see animals in zoos and for people like me, this way we can see animals. There are fossils, meteor crystals, bones of animals and many more. I recommend everyone to see it.

For kids it's a good learning experience. As an adult you see the lack of funds of the museum. Please visit the museum to ensure it continued existence

Great natural history museum for young and old crowds. It presents exhibits from all over the world with a bit more depth on local habitats and animals, of course. The tickets are cheap as well as the shop that you can visit at the end. All the electronics that were there to enhance the experience were not working when we visited and appeared to be broken for a while, not sure why they’re not fixing them.

It is a wonderful museum to visit, you don't come out without learning something interesting. The downside during COVID was that nothing interactive is working, no screens or headphones. Also you need to buy a separate ticket for all the extra expositions if you want to check them ( butterflies and moon rocks in my case ).

One of the best museums in the country, but not at its best. A lot of the technology is not functional, the QR codes don't work, the monitors are off. This could be a place of intense study for older children, adults also, but it seems eager to get you out rather than keep you in. Still, a very complete exhibition, definitely grab a ticket, it's cheap and kids get in for free.

Great experience for any kid or adult alike. For 2 adults and 2 kids we had payed 90 lei (about 18 euro) for the regular visit and the temporary expo of hidden creatures (snakes, spiders, frogs and turtles). We arrive Sunday at 11.30 and there was no queue, but, later on, large groups of students arrived so it became a little bit crowdy.

Quick and beautiful museum. Great price and lovely exhibits of taxidermy animals. There are also interactive tablets and braille for any blind people interested in visiting.

Very nice museum with tons of diorama representative of all parts of the world flora and fauna. It also has a part dedicated to minerals and another bigger part dedicated to the evolution of species with many skeletons to show the difference between species. Only thing I'd change are the tribal dioramas in which there are represented only dark skin people which is kind of weird, considering all the other dioramas are all about animals and you may get the impression these tribals are compared to them...

The place is really nice, I totally recommend visiting it. There were a couple of things that brought disappointment to me, one of them was the the souvenir shop where you can mostly see cheap merchandise and stuffed toys, the are also encouraging visitors to go and see it on the museum leaflet: "we invite you to visit the souvenir shop at the of your tour"... (attaching some pictures of the souvenir shop). I think you can promote more valuable merchandise guys. The second thing is the bathroom of the museum which should be improved as it seems that there were so little investments and it's something that should make the visitors stay more comfortable if they are willing to use it.

Is a decent museum experience. Natural History museun great for children, but do not expect any detailed explainations about topics. The exposed animals look goofy sometimes, but they are well kept. Ticket not too pricey.

Kids loved the dioramas of different animals, and the basement ones showing Romanian bio regions were particularly good. Section on rocks was a bit short and more education and explanation (in Romanian, let alone English) would have been good. Finally gift shop was 100% child oriented (fine for children) but not very Romanian oriented. No Romanian natural history books that I could see.

Very interesting and the man that greeted us was friendly and informative. Some good displays there. But some very bad models of animals.

While there are some signs of funny bad-taxidermy, the museum is a genuinely great experience. You can do it in one hour (while trying to get the 4yo kids to actually look at something) or, it might take up to 3 hours of properly getting some info. Really impressive collection of fauna. You have most of the Romanian Fauna (many of which I didn't even know are present here) to most of the large international fauna. Some of them are "collected" in the 18th century. Great digital augmentation of the entire experience. With interactive displays and info in multiple languages. The museum is situated in the most popular area for sightseeing in Bucharest, so, if the sun is to hot, or if it's raining, you should definitely give it a try.

I think this museum has the proper Suze fir its kind. Worldwide the natural history museums are usually either extremely big, which makes them difficult to explore without spending one full day, or small because they include only a few exhibits. The Grigore Antipa National history museum needs a couple of hours to explore, but has a big variety of exhibits, organised in a proper way to be educational and interesting for all ages.

Man. I’ve never seen so many bad taxidermy, but the price to visit is actually pretty okay. Wasn’t too crowded and there are also some other exhibitions to visit.

One of the best museums in Romania. The price is minimum compared to what it has to offer. You can spend there min 2h. I really recommend visiting it.

Very friendly staff, not much to buy from the gift shop, remember to bring a bottle of water during summer time. All in all a nice place to visit with the family. Spent around 2 hours. Costs 5€ for the main exhibit.
