First
of
all,
I'm
a
huge
fan
of
speakeasy
bars.
I
have
had
plenty
of
good
craft
cocktails
in
speakeasy
bars
in
Saigon
so
my
expectation
is
that
this
place,
since
it
is
rated
Asia's
top
50
bars,
to
be
at
least
on
par
or
exceed
the
cocktails
I
had
in
Saigon.
And....
this
place
FAILS
on
every
level.
I
don't
normally
write
reviews
in
Google,
but
I
was
just
so
appalled
by
the
low
quality
of
this
place
that
I
must
go
on
here
and
let
all
speakeasy
fans
know
to
avoid
mistake
like
me:
1.
Drinks:
Let's
talk
about
the
most
important
part,
the
drinks.
What
do
I
expect
for
a
$30
drink
at
a
speakeasy
bar?
Handmade,
fresh,
high
quality,
balanced.
The
bartender
just
straight
out
pour
2
cups
of
CONCENTRATES
out
of
a
bottle
labeled
the
name
of
my
drink
order
"The
People's
Tea",
and
pour
soda
over,
stir
2
TIMES,
squeezed
a
little
lemon
and
boom,
voila!
I
was
so
shocked...
that's...
it?
I
though
my
drink
had
whiskey
in
it.
Where
is
the
whiskey?
"Oh,
it
has
been
pre-mixed
in
the
concentrate
I
just
pour
in
you
see",
the
bartender
said.
Oookayyy....
this
watered
down
concentrate
is
my
top
Asia's
50
bar's
drink?
And
it
tasted
just
as
bad
as
it
looks.
Barely
tasted
the
whiskey.
I
mean
how
could
I?
It
was
pre-mixed
in
there
and
probably
had
sit
in
the
bottle
for
days.
I
mean
my
husband's
bad
margarita
mixing
skill
is
probably
more
interesting
than
this
"bartender".
The
quality
of
this
$30
drink
is
equal
to
the
$5
cocktail
bucket
I
got
at
Khao
San.
Tasteless,
no
character,
no
flavour.
Maybe
I
ordered
the
wrong
drink?
Maybe
I
should
order
another
drink
to
change
my
perception?
That
was
my
intention
before
I
saw
a
row
of
bottles
on
the
counter
labeled
the
rest
of
the
drinks
on
the
menu.
Oooh,
so
it
IS
the
style
here.
They
pre-mix
all
the
drinks
and
just
pour
out
when
guests
order.
Fine,
I
will
just
go
to
7-11
next
door
to
grab
a
margarita
concentrate
bottle,
bring
home
and
make
my
own
drinks
then,
which
was
exactly
what
I
did.
2.
Atmosphere:
I
admitted,
I
felt
kind
of
impressed
when
I
first
entered
this
place.
The
bar
was
hidden
behind
a
closed
door
and
I
almost
missed
it.
The
music
was
good
and
it
was
lively
even
on
a
Monday
night.
I
was
by
myself
so
I
sat
at
the
bar.
I
asked
for
the
Wifi
password
since
you
know...
I
need
my
phone
to
not
feel
isolated
going
to
the
bar
on
my
own.
The
bartender
told
me
the
bar
had
a
no
wifi
policy.
Okay,
fine!
It's
good
anyways,
since
they
have
a
no
wifi
policy,
I
can
spend
time
talking
to
the
bartender
and
enjoy
my
drink.
But
NO
bartender
paid
attention
to
me,
or
any
other
guests
at
the
bar
to
my
notice.
They
just
hang
around,
and
do...nothing
since
most
of
the
drinks
are
made
of
concentrates
so
you
guess
it,
not
much
to
do
anyways.
I
tried
to
start
a
conversation
with
the
bartender
who
made
my
drink
and
he
was
not
friendly
at
all.
He
just
technically
answered
the
questions
I
had
about
the
drink,
short
and
sweet
and
...
dodge.
Then
what
is
the
purpose
of
no
wifi???
LOL
I'm
so
spoiled
my
the
friendliness
and
kindness
of
the
bartenders
in
Saigon
that
I
was
just
shocked
with
my
experience
here.
I
really
don't
want
to
rate
any
business
1
star
since
I
am
in
the
customer
service
industry
too,
and
I
know
the
pain
of
having
1
star
review
for
the
business.
But
this
place
is
just
overhyped,
overrated,
overpriced,
and
I
should
voice
my
experience
out
so
people
can
have
a
clear
expectation
before
coming
and
spending
their
money
here.
