Visited
on
weekend
early
evening
around
630ish,
restaurant
quite
filled
with
maybe
1
or
2
empty
tables.
Area
inside
is
not
that
big.
Order
quite
a
few
dishes
to
try.
There
wasn't
alot
of
unique
dishes
tbh,
quite
standard
Zi
Char
fare.
Ordered
the
following
items:
1.
300
gram
signature
Char
Siew
2.
Jade
tofu
3.
Duck
Ee-mien
4.
Sambal
fried
rice
5.
XO
carrot
cake
6.
Salted
egg
pork
7.
Butter
chicken
8.
Sweet
sour
fish
1.
The
Char
Siew
came
with
a
deep
dark
glaze
with
a
generous
amount
of
black
sweet
sauce.
The
meat
portion
I
was
served
had
a
meat
ratio
of
roughly
70/80%
lean
to
30/20%
fat
meat.
The
fat
does
a
good
job
of
melting
in
your
mouth.
However,
personal
opinion
is
that
the
sauce/char
siew
was
way
too
'charred'.
It
had
a
strong
bitter
charred
taste
that
overwhelms
the
sweet
sauce.
The
sauce
can
be
quite
jelak
as
well.
Shared
the
char
Siew
with
4
ppl,
and
everyone
just
took
like
2/3
pieces
and
was
quite
done
with
it.
Not
my
personal
type
of
Char
Siew
but
I
can
see
ppl
coming
for
it
if
you
really
like
a
extremely
strong
char
roasting.
2.
Jade
tofu
is
nice,
soft
and
tender
accompanied
by
a
well
balanced
mushroom
sauce
that
wasn't
too
salty.
Don't
need
rice
to
eat
with
it.
Had
multiple
flavour
profile
since
you
can
actually
taste
the
wheatgrass
instead
of
other
restaurants
that
use
it
purely
for
colouring.
One
of
the
better
dish
of
the
night.
3.
Duck
Ee-mien
was
quite
normal,
basically
ee-mian
in
soy
sauce.
Not
much
to
note.
4.
Sambal
fried
rice
is
great.
Rice
is
粒粒分明,
savoury
and
had
a
slight
spicy
kick
to
it
at
end
of
each
bite.
Even
though
I
don't
see
ikan
bilis
in
the
dish,
the
dish
tasted
almost
exactly
like
the
malay
dish
'Nasi
goreng
ikan
bilis'
but
with
a
spicy
twist
to
it.
Rice
portion
is
generous
as
well,
quite
big
amount
of
rice
in
the
bowl.
But
due
to
the
sambal,
rice
can
be
slightly
oily
for
some
people.
5.
XO
carrot
cake
was
quite
disappointing,
the
outer
layer
looks
crispy
but
isn't.
The
entire
dish
was
just
mushy.
Not
much
of
the
XO
sauce
flavour
as
well,
tasted
quite
plain.
Had
a
hard
time
finishing
it
due
to
the
texture.
6
&
7
&
8.
Standard
Zi
Char
fare,
not
much
different,
the
butter
chicken
and
salted
egg
pork
tasted
very
very
similar.
Basically
ordered
a
duplicate
dish
other
than
the
fact
it's
chicken
and
pork.
Overall
some
hit
some
misses.
Other
than
the
signature
Char
Siew
and
fried
rice,
other
dishes
are
quite
normal.
Not
alot
choice
as
well
since
most
of
the
meat
dishes
is
fried
battered
meat
+
a
sauce.
