Presentation layout is okay. Food serving time is extremely fast. + Taste of food is below expectation. Bread is very hard. - Price: $30 - $35/pax Just tried because I see full house previous time I walked past (full house today as well). Overall its average...

They serve a good cup of latte, and we ordered their brunch menu item, Eggs Benedict (add on Smoke Salmon) ($23+$4) and Fry Up ($25). Fry Up was heavy and seemed more like to be a sharing platter. Eggs Benedict was good and I added on Smoke Salmon which was given generously. Overall feel abit pricey for their food but it tasted good. Service wise can be improved.

Sarnies one of recommended place for breakfast/brunch or lunch (because i never go for dinner) the menu between breakfast and lunch is different. Lunch menu start from 11 am. Lunch portion so big, very happy tummy 😂, Coffee here also good.

Only tried their breakfast. The food is decent but nothing very memorable or makes you go, "oh wow I need to be back for this!" Worth it when you use Burpple 1 for 1. Coffee is good too, and warm service. Very warm though, both indoors and outdoors.

Really wanted the food to be good, but ended up being pretty average. Perhaps the below par quality of food was a one off occasion, but the steak was pretty flat tasting and the salt + the sauce overpowered the flavour of the steak. (Also not sure why the minimum doneness they could do was Medium) The pastas were alright with a good texture of Al dente. However, the Salmon Carbonara got a little “jelak” after a while but it could be due to personal preference. Cheeseburger was decent, and I liked the pickle as a topping! Mushroom side dish was pretty good with the garlic chips being a nice touch. Drummettes were quite oily and wasn’t seasoned well enough (to our liking) - meat seemed pretty overcooked too and was a bit hard. Service staff was really friendly and attentive.

Always lovely coffee with excellent food and cheery staff. He breakfast steak options - steak and eggs open-faced sandwich or wrap - are definite must tries. Just some feedback I'd have would perhaps be to take a little more care with eggshells in eggs. I've bit into shells at least twice now.

We came here for weekend brunch recently. The location is a little dingy and run down, in part because it’s semi al fresco. You sit where you like, then order and pay at the counter and they bring the food to the table. Service was quite fast when we were there, and we found it reasonably friendly. The menu isn’t huge but it’s interesting. The place reminds me somewhat of Boomerang but the food is a bit better and commensurately more expensive. It’s not cheap. For the steak and eggs, the eggs were done well, but the steak was over cooked. The fry up wasn’t bad but the maple syrup I could have done without. It’s also hard to cut the thick bacon with the cheap table knives they give you. Again, the eggs were proper and the baked beans were nice. The mushrooms were just oily fried mushrooms and the tomatoes were okay but nothing special. The tater tots tasted very Boomerang: like something out of the frozen food aisle of the supermarket, and the country sourdough was okay but didn’t really taste like sourdough. There was no flavor to it. Coffee was good. I’d say the four stars for the food here is a bit of a gift, but it’s better than three. Would I come back? Maybe. Wouldn’t be my first choice, as I think the value proposition could be better.

Food and location and the cooking speed were great. The semi-Al-fresco seating is nice, especially when the sun is out. The self-service in the tiny shop was disappointing. Waiters forced their way through and made customers wait for their turn. We also had to ask twice for the sugar syrup, because they forgot about it the first time. My biggest gripe was the hefty price. 77 SGD for a tiny breakfast for 3 people with only 1 drink seems to be quite hefty.

3rd time here and always crowded. Do make a reservation if you’re heading down! We had 2 mains and 1 side to share between 3 people and were nicely filled. The coffee is great! Must have!

Delicious food. We came here right before they were closing their lunch but they were nice and took our order. The avocado toast was delicious and included sun dried tomatoes which almost made it taste a little like pizza - it was really good! The bagel with cream cheese was also yummy and the halloumi salad was so fresh and delicious. It also included dukkah (I think) which made it that much more flavorful and added a nice crunch. Really great place for brunch or lunch.

Might good for breakfast & brunch but never again for dinner. I ordered bolognese and smoked salmon burger. Burger presentation looks sad - just mixing of instant-frozen food that I can find somewhere else that taste better and worth my money

First time @ Sarnies with @angielly_ ! Usually would prefer hot latte but the weather really calls for a cup of iced latte 🌞 We wanted to try their breakfast menu however was a tad late for that HAHA so lunch menu it is! We overestimated ourselves, their sandwich portion is actually kinda big. I had their grass-fed steak sandwich and Angel had their roast chicken sandwich 🥪

Now a days I don’t eat as much cafe food as before. For a simple fact that I moved to Singapore from New Zealand and it would be a shame to be eating this type of food in such a diverse culinary scene. But nonetheless there are days that my better half must insist in satiating her cravings for the Betty White in her. So for me there’s only 3 cafes that I consider worth going in the Sin City and the thing they all have in common is their fantastic service. Sarnies for me is at the top of the list. Because everything I want, they do it well. Tremendous service, delicious food, good coffee and amazing location. Always love to come on the weekends early in the morning to sit outside and people watch. Place gets packed by the post workout meal crew, so you know the food is worthy as a prize. Their smash avocado is delicious, poach eggs always cooked to perfection, the french toast ain’t for the kids is for the grown, so yeah this place does it well indeed. Love the staff working here, always with a smile and always accommodating.

The textbook example of a cafe and brunch food. As one of the oldest players in the scene, it’s no wonder that they’ve survived for this long with their constantly changing offerings. Serving sizes are great for the price you’re forking out. Got a steak n eggs and the corn fritters(?). Would say to skip out on both of these and go for their sarnies sandwiches or a pasta. Coffees are always decent. Service is patient, and staff tend to be real nice. Little personal tip would be to use your entertainer 1-1 here to save some coin.

This shop has been around for a number of years. The breakkie menu looks impressive. Loads of options and brekkie done in different creative ways. I came for a simple meal. Granola bowl, pecan pie and a cortado. Sadly, none of my food items were available. So only a cortado and mixed berry smoothie at Sarnies. No food rating offered due to this. The cortado was excellent!!! Worth the long wait for a drink, I’d say. I might have taken another cortado as a take away if I did not have to wait a long time. The service crew are welcoming and polite. It is still a different standard of welcoming a customer when you factor in the Singapore culture for social interactions (I.3., transactional only) but that is still a 4-star rating when compared to other F&B places. I see the appeal - a shop set in the old part of the CBD gives off a quaint and semi-gentrified feel, a large menu option, a listing of coffee variations, alfresco seating in the sweltering heat, indoor seating coming out smelling of breakfast… When in Singapore, this can be a place to visit if you need a reprieve from the local breakfast cuisine. Within this same row of shops there are other options too.

Would just stick with the eggs selection next time. Had “fry up”, if you prefer asian taste on a western meal, you might be able to accept this, especially bacon being the star of the dish. However, i would prefer everything to taste western when i’m here. Portion is huge!!! Plus point. Having said that, love love the coffee! ❤️

Items were all decent, but not the best. Felt that the spinach was too soggy and didnt go well with the eggs benedict. Avocado toast was yummy, but bread was way too hard to chew. Breakfast burger fared the best with generous portions though beef patty was slightly dry.

Food was so bad. Steak and egg was the first we ordered. Steak was chewy and hard to swallow. Tasteless. So chewy that you can hardly finish biting to swallow because your jaw will be so sore FROM ALL TH CHEWING. Salmon and wrap was the second. I dont know if it's just me or why is the scrambled eggs hot and smoked salmon mixed wrapped together. Was it supposed to wrap both cold and hot food together ? If u miss Malaysia's spearmint chewing gum you can just proceed to order the beef and flush ur mouth with iced lemon mint tea. There u go! Beef spearmint gum without breaking the law We couldn't bring ourselves to finish it. Was just so bad. But staffs were friendly. Food sucks so bad.

Sarnies has a rather limited weekday dinner menu (compared to most places), but they serve up unpretentious food. This place is generally busy but service is relatively quick! Water is charged at $5 per bottle.

Dropped by a few times and always crowded. Order at counter and they will serve your food right at your table. They expanded counter seats to the side of the shop too. Food portion is huge. I hope they could consider smaller portion for female too. Good vibes, Good quality of food, but money flies. Easily 30$/head(can say premium cafe’s standard price) They have branch in Thailand also. Same food quality and taste, some menu is difference.

Sarnies has arguably one of the best Chicken Parmigiana in Singapore. It's my go to place for the dish and the coffee is an absolute showstopper. It does get a tad bit warm indoors during the day but you don't feel it so much unless you are at the seats closer to the kitchen.

Came here for weekday lunch. It’s on the entertainer app - so the 1 for 1 promotion makes it very worthwhile. I ordered the tuna broccoli sandwich and it was a huge portion! The sandwich was slightly on the salty side and the bread was very thick. I would recommend sharing the sandwich as it got slightly too much for me and I couldn’t finish it. It is a very no frills place so think of it as a spot to get a quick bite! It can get pretty crowded but the service staff was nice in helping us get a table outside and ensuring rain wouldn’t get onto us.

Ordered the tuna melt and beef bolognese penne, both good dishes. Coffee’s good too. Dined in on a weekday for lunch, we were lucky to find seats outside but it was really warm. I’m leaving 2 stars cause service charge applies yet we had to fetch our own water……

Came here once & had a pleasant experience. However, the lunch I had today with my friend left a bad taste in our mouths. Service was horrible, and i mean, horribly rude and curt. When we arrived before lunch hour, we were not shown to our seats & so we just chose the nearest empty seats near the entrance (indoors). Glancing to the tables in front of and behind us directly, all the patrons with carry-on bags and paper bags took up an extra chair(s) at their table which were used to place their bags beside them. Naturally, my friend, who had a duffel bag with her, thought it will be OK to request an extra chair for her to place her bag. We were met with server named Tim / Teem (?) 's impatience when she dryly said, "No, we don't have enough chairs." No explanation whatsoever. When we borrowed a chair from another patron who was sitting at an opposite table who said he was dining alone, my friend managed to put her duffel bag on the chair for a mere fifteen minutes before it was again rudely taken away by the same server. She said "We need this chair." & walked away with it. To our horror, the other patrons still had extra chairs to put their bags and were not asked to give up their chairs. When I got up to ask Tim why other patrons' chairs were still used, she rebutted by saying "They came earlier in the morning, so that's why they can have the chairs. It's lunch crowd now, do you understand?" I replied, "In fact, I do not understand." To which she said, "Then you will slowly understand." sarcastically. Wow. If she was nice about this whole thing and explained why we couldn't borrow an extra chair for my friend's duffel bag, I would compliment her for good customer management. The heck-care attitude peppered with sarcasm and stuck-up demeanour was just so off-putting that I have to leave this bad review. If I could give zero stars, I would. The one-star is for the passable food and coffee. It's one of the rare times that I leave a one-star review / complaint post. Check my other reviews & you'd see I'm generally easy to please. :( Will not be coming back again. Oh, and she also told me to "If you want to feedback to management, they are just here." Photo is an example of a customer beside us who had an extra chair for their bags. Could not take more photos of the other customers who had extra chairs cos they were behind me.

Food portion is huge - shareable for 2 pax and everything was well cooked and seasoned. The granola bowl came with a huge portion of granola which was very much appreciated (most places would give more yoghurt than granola!) Value for money in terms of quality + quantity Also, +++++ points - we mistook a dish for having sourdough and the owner (I believe) kindly offered us a portion of sourdough on the house.

Maybe u better request you need coffee warm as the coffee serve is room temp. When u feedback, they microwave it and serve u again. Don't order sweet corn fritter, taste bland and hard. Tomato soup end with a bitter taste. Best dish is the Acai. They serve plenty of dry mixed nuts

Great food and amazing staff, especially Kim and haziq that is so attentive and friendly. Celebrated my dad’s birthday there and they all sang birthday song for him! 10/10 will be back again. Maybe next time for their brunch menu. The indoor sitting is limited so best is to make reservations before you come down.

The brussel sprouts surprised me, they’re super tasty!!! The chicken was really huge so good to share unless you’re really hungry. Only down side I have for the place would just be the tables, the gaps on it makes it tough when food drops through.

Visited for sarnies for breakfast at 8.30am after a lovely walk around the promenade with the doggo. A cyclist haven for sure and thankfully there was seats to spare even though we didn't have reservations. Lovely chill vibes with fast service and the food was delightful with reasonable prices. The mixed berry smoothie and rich and creamy cold brew was refreshing and food portions were generous too. Nice place to consider for brunch!

Came on a Saturday for their weekend brunch. Unique brunch menu items (especially those in their eggy goodness category)!! Ordered their turkish eggs which was a very interesting and delicious dish but would definitely recommend sharing because the greek yogurt gets a bit heavy towards the end. Also had their chilli scramble and wow the scramble eggs were delicious. Coffee: Oat Cappuccino and Latte ☕️ Pretty normal~ but super cute latte art

A bit expensive but big portions and very filling. The fresh juice (mix of green apple, carrot and orange) actually tastes fresh. Bacon was kinda salty. I sat outdoors and it was sufficiently cooled by the fans, didn't feel uncomfortably warm. Food was served very quickly. Less than 5 mins of waiting time. There is complimentary self-serve iced water at a table outdoors.

One of my favourite spots I used to come here when I lived here for 8 years. As a fitness professional it was a great spot for breakfast for me. I would typically create my own breakfast and if I needed the extra boost post workout I would have the protein shake afterwards! Love this place to check out and in the heart of the CBD. Oh & their brownies are insane (not a fan of their bacon though).

Good food available at 7:30am! The best thing about Sarnies - the Merlion wall graffiti! Half the crowd are expats and the staff is smiley. The imperfection is the table. The gaps between the wooden panels are too big so it’s easy to drop cutlery.

  • 3/5 Manoj R. 10 months ago on Google
Not the best cafe I have been to but overall a decent cafe experience... The number of seats available inside the place is less, so you might have to try patio seating outside, which is shared by two restaurants. Food was average. Staff were really good..

I used to be a regular here many years ago when I lived in the neighbourhood. Came again for a Sunday Brunch, seems the crowds have changed somewhat, and now has become a hangout for bikers who comes in big groups. The indoor tables tend to be empty as people prefer to sit outside. It was full. Ordered a banana pancake and a latte to dine in and a bacon and egg sandwich for takeaway. The portion is big, as I remembered it, and the food quality is delicious.

Friendly & Helpful Staff! However not a fan of the food even though was looking forward to it. We had the Turkish Eggs (Yogurt), Fry Up and Chilli Scramble. The Turkish eggs were acceptable a first but really becomes hard to palate after a few bites as all i taste is the overpowering yogurt and the sourdough bread. Fry up was mediocre? The bacon was a bit too chewy as well. The Chilli Scramble was mediocre but best out of the 3 dishes we had. Drinks wise I think the coffee is done well! Though I wouldn't order the matcha again. Wouldn't say I'd visit again...but if I'm ever around the corner I'll pop by for a coffee and try their granola bowl!

We were just here this morning. 4 of us having brunch while waiting for our daughter to finish her class. It was around 11am so crowd was getting heavy. Had to park further away near amoy food centre and walk back. There were a few tables available for us - quite a few were ordering for takeaways. Ordering was easy- scan the qr code on the table for the menu and join the queue to make your order and pay. Food arrived fairly quickly and we started chomping. Portion was big in general and bread was on point, be it sourdough or English muffin. Taste wise - everything was good except the Turkish thing, felt a bit yucky as the yoghurt was all over the egg. Maybe put a bit less? I don't know. Coffee selection was good, u get the normal stuff plus some selection like red velvet latte etc. Ambience was relaxing, no one too noisy. If u r seated outside, the awning provides adequate cover from the sun. Overall a good brunch and we will come again.

Conveniently located in the CBD! Highly recommend their bagel + chive cream cheese; such a simple combination but so underrated! Gets pretty crowded on weekends, so expect a little bit of wait time. Mostly outdoor seating so it gets a little hot in the afternoon. Food here can be a little pricey, but using deals from burpple and the entertainer help offset the bill.

Visited this place on 13 Aug around 3:20pm , ordered a steak sandwich & a dirty bird. The steak sandwich was a huge disappointment because the rye bread was so stale and dry, you can choke on it. The steak was basically dry beef slices and the worse part is the mushroom and onions was heavily soaked in balsamic vinaigrette. Not sure was it because it just reopened due to P2HA or what but I hope the owner heads down and give it a try. Now the dirty bird sandwich, buns were dry , coleslaw tasted fermented for some reasons. Was really disappointed considering there were so many good reviews.

Very friendly staff, quick service once table is secured and fresh tasty dishes. Waiting time spoiled the experience a bit as required spacing by rearranging tables (by still following the current regulations!) was done late. But can still recommend and I'll come back.

Had dinner there and ordered the fried wild snapper, pierogies and mushroom risotto. The fried wild snapper was really oily and tasteless - sauce was yum though but then again you can't quite go wrong with aioli with fish. The rice from the risotto was slightly undercooked and the overall dish was just damn jelak to eat after a while - especially after it got cold. The first few bites were tasty and then it wasn't. For that price, I expect a little more. Pierogies were the saving grace, albeit a little oily too. Loved the butternut pumpkin flavour. Probably wouldn't go back there for dinner though, I might however give the lunch menu a try.

This was definitely cooked earlier on in the day and then shredded to place in a tub. I was even more disappointed because this was supposed to be their signature, according to the cashier. Not to mention, the brown bread wasn’t toasted and was UTTERLY DRY and tough. I felt like I needed a lot of drinks to swallow it down. Vegetables were fresh, I got to give them that. The avocado could have been more generous and the chicken meat could have been seasoned more because now it is completely lack of any seasoning. Bacon was the crispy overdone type which some people might like. That said, service was good but really no go for the food. I cannot understand the 4.1 star reviews on Google Maps. Not sure if I ordered the right thing

Very casua vibe, and really popular for its great tasting healthy meals and good coffee. It can be hard to get a table particularly during peak hours but food is serve swiftly. Definitely a favorite spot when I need a good nourishment 10/10 highly recommend!

Ordered the pork collar and spiced roadkill chicken for dinner on a weekday, slightly overpriced for the portion. According to the waitress the restaurant doesn’t serve water. Service was mediocre, cleared the dishes when we were not done with the food. Tried their sandwiches during brunch and it was okay but dinner was disappointing. Overall not recommended for dinner.

Reasonably priced breakfast with good coffee. We had cappuccino, vanilla latte, and flat white. The wraps are good, but the lemon mint tea tastes too ordinary for the price. It would have made up the difference if there were sliced lemon and mint leaves added.

Portions were huge. And service was super fast. Food arrived 10mins after order was placed. Good coffee. The truffled scrambled eggs could be less seasoned. Overall a pleasant experience.

Me and my partner tried their Salmon Cauliflower using Burpple one for one. There was many different ingredients and the portion size was generous. Aside from the main salmon fish which was slightly dry and lacking a little in flavour, I enjoyed the dish in general due to the array of healthy fruits and vegetables. The place was pretty packed on a Friday afternoon, even with outdoor seating.

Love the pancakes and what a generous portion! Good mix between sweetness and savory, replacing the usual whip cream with yogurt! The plate is probably good for sharing between 2 pax 🤣😅 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Good food with huge portions! Coffee is great too. Didn't really have to wait for a table when arrived on a Sunday afternoon (close to 2pm). Bonus is being to use the entertainer app here. Will be back next time!

super cheap! only 8-12$ per pax with burpple or entertainer. the food is good as well. i had their ribeye, mushroom risotto (weekday dinner menu) + salmon cream cheese sandwich, pulled pig salad (weekday lunch menu) + grilled cheese sandwich, fried chicken burger (weekday lunch menu). all were rlly good!!!

One of the better places for brunch in the CBD! Just a stone's throw away from Telok Ayer MRT, Sarnies serves up a menacing Fry Up! (23++) and the breakkie burger was good too! Although it could have been better with some fries by the side. Get yourself a Burpple membership or the ENTERTAINER one for some savings when you dine here! 10/10 will return

Good food, generous portions, friendly service. No wonder this place is almost always packed on weekends. I had the avocado toast, and theirs comes with a few cubes of ricotta cheese which I thought was a nice touch. Go later to avoid the crowd, and be prepared to sit outdoors as they have just a few indoor tables.

Had avocado egg toast during my visit. Mashed avocado is well-seasoned. Eggs are slightly overcooked. There was no yolk lava. Overall, I love it and I will haVe it again! Also tried U-fit but I wouldnt recommend it. The protein powder smells very strong. I could also feel the raw egg. When I went there, it wss slightly crowded. Yet, the staffs took very good care of us.

Nice place to chill on a weekend with brunch, and alcoholic beverages. Food portion is huge, may need to share as it is very rich in flavour

Coffee tasted good, but was not hot enough (even though they were served pretty quickly). Had the big fry and a ham and cheese croissant shared w my wife. Portion for the big fry was really huge, but that's the only good thing about it. Bacon was mostly hard (not crispy). Mushrooms and potatoes were so-so. Croissant wasn't flaky. Had a long wait to be seated, but food and drinks were served relatively quickly. Staff also didn't chase us off while we sat that chatting (on a Sat afternoon). Wouldn't be back here unless I had to.

Duuuuudeeeee I can’t believe it took me this long to try this place out. I’m so glad I did though! The carbonara and halloumi salad was ordered, and they did not disappoint. Can’t wait to go back for what they’re known for — sandwiches!! Have really high hopes for them.

Horrible beans!! Bought Sarnies coffee beans (Nicaragua Fincas Mierisch and Decaf Colombian 250gm) and both beans are over roasted. Couldn't salvage the beans to get the tasting profile listed on their website. Extremely disappointed, and will never ever re-purchase again.

Depsite COVID Sarnies still maintains their quality of food and I am assured having visited on several occasions! Lunch menu items like Thier salmon miso carbonara is a must try or the Chicken Parmigiana

Steak and Eggs swimming in mayo. Must have been the most unhealthy and bad meal I’ve had in Singapore. Too much mayonnaise, the meal was completely drenched in it, my cholesterol has probably gone through the roof, nobody asked about Iced Matcha sweetness, so they made it so sweet I’m probably leaving the place with type 2 diabetes. Tuna sandwich took 27 minutes to cook, although before we paid at the register and wanted to change the meal, we were advise it’s too late, the kitchen started preparing it… Overall the worst experience for 73$ Oh… and where’s my water?! Useless and hopeless. UPD: Tuna Mayo… couldn’t allow myself to leave this unmentioned, now I know that not only you can mess up easiest to make sandwich with 3 ingredients, but also make it utterly disgusting. Bravo! What’s in the photos is what is left for someone else to enjoy. Too bad we already paid, would have been my first time in almost 4 decades walking out without paying.
