It was my first time dining in pitch black dark, and I loved it! It's a great fun experience, I can't recommend it enough. The staff is very friendly, the cocktails are very nice and the food is very good, with original dishes with different textures and flavours to make you wonder what it is. The fun part: when they tell you at the end what you ate. It's a good spot for a date but more fun to go out with friends. They take you to a separate completely dark room for dining, and you cannot have your phones/take photos there. They also ask you about allergies or food preferences a few times and they offer alternatives for all.

An amazing and eye opening experience. Before you enter the dining area you are required to remove all electronic devices that are capable of emitting light, even your watches that glow in the dark! From there, you are placed in the care of their staff who are visit impaired and let the experience begin. It's a literal experience of dining in the dark meant for those wondering, you will be served dishes without knowing what you're eating (they show you what they are at the end of the meal), you'll have to FEEL for your cutlery, serving bowls and even pour your own water! (Though they will help if you really can't) Your eyes never adjust as there is no light source at all, but rest assured the staff there are very attentive and will make sure everyone is comfortable. We were served by Bernard who shared with his experiences, he was extremely attentive and humourous. Don't believe you can choose your server but you can try to ask!

Unique and once in a life time experience! It’s such an insightful and eye opening experience~~ Bernard was amazing in serving us 🥺💙 Thank you for your efforts and chatting with us!! Even tho the food was a little disappointing, as it comes in 4 cups/ bowl of appetisers, mains & dessert. Taste wise, not that mind blowing but for dinning in the dark experience + pouring your own drink etc, yes, its worth for that 😇

Tldr: Very interesting experiential concept; Recommended for the novel experience. 3 course menu for $88++ (4 dishes per course, features seafood & red meat); 2 flight wine pairing for $30, 3 flight wine pairing for $40. Nox is an experiential dining concept where you dine in total darkness while being guided and served by visually impaired waiters. I started off at the bar area (lit up) and got the ‘Kwai Feh’ cocktail ($22) - the gin and grapefruit pairing was pleasant and refreshing. They also served a small canape of celery root puree mousse & uni in a crispy cone (included in the set course), which was light with the sea flavor of uni. For dinner proper, we had to remove and deposit any luminescent personal items (including phones) into a locker before we were brought to the pitch dark dining hall. Nox serves a standard 3-course meal (appetiser / main / dessert) for $88. Each course is split into 4 separate dishes, making it effectively 12 different dishes over the 3-course dinner. Wont spoil the menu by sharing the exact dishes, but there was a good mix of seafood and red meat. The food was generally tasty and of good quality, although nothing spectacular. I also topped up $40 for the 3 flight wine pairing. After the meal, the dishes were revealed back at the bar area. It was also interesting to experience how the visually impaired waiters used tongue clicks and whistles to navigate through the dining area with trays of food and drink without running into each other or dropping things. Overall a very interesting experience; highly recommended to try.

One of the most unforgettable dining experiences I've ever had in my life! If you have never tried eating in complete darkness, give this restaurant a try and you'll know how this will change the way you taste and how you see/feel this world :) There are some mixed online reviews about the food, but we really enjoyed the food and the wine pairing (2 glasses). Vegetarian option is available upon request but unfortunately no vegan. There are 12 dishes in total (4 dishes each for appetizer/main/dessert). The staff (especially Bernard) was super attentive, professionally served us and quickly cleaned up the mess on the table when we accidentally spilt the wine. At the end you'll be shown the pictures of the food and wine you had for the night. We laughed at our "goldfish memory" as it took us some time to recall the food we had when filling out the questionnaire 😆 Would definitely come back and try a different menu. It's perfect for a date or special event (anniversary/birthday celebration). Not suitable for a first date unless you really want a "blind date" 😜

Absolutely great experience. Booking with credit card is necessary. When arrived we waited at this fancy bar area where an appetiser is served. We can order bar drinks too. Lockers were provided to keep your bags, phones, watches that illuminate. Then we were taken to a second floor where the room was in complete darkness. When you can see, the sense of touch smell and taste elevates and became more sensitive. Food and wine were great just have to be careful when consuming since we can’t see. Servers are all very passionate, friendly and professional. They told us they can’t see and we are impressed by how swift and accurate they serve. They were also very engaged in conversations with us. Menu changes every two months we were told. Highly recommended!

Awesome experience! We were assigned Kelvin to serve us during our meal. He ensured that we were well taken care of. Relying on our sense of touch and feel entirely throughout our experience dining in the dark. It's really pitch dark! Food was wonderful too. Give it a try.

I wanted to review to refute all the other negative reviews left by people who don't know what they are talking about. I feel that i can give a credible review because I am a legit foodie with the weight and eating experience in michelin restaurants across Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Shanghai and few hundred reviews on google in various restaurants (not a fake account). I also managed to guess most of the food that was being served. I brought my sister to this because I wanted her to experience what life was like from a visually impaired (VI, it's not politically correct to refer to them as blind people!) and thus food was secondary. I had no expectations on the food. If you want a fine dining experience, you can go to Waku Ghin. If you went, you would also know that the waiters have to carry food up a narrow staircase. Can be more patient or not? You're supposed to slowly taste the food and guess, and make small talk with your dining partner. STOP complaining that you hate the rules, use common sense la of course you won't be allowed to bring your phone. You want to take pics for instagram, go to the hipster cafes. Firstly, i was also served by Bernard, he's very good at making small talk and helping my sister to be at ease. She was scared of the dark and shy, which is understandable since she's only a 14yo student. It won't be fair to give a bad review if you're scared of the dark. This place is literally named "Dine in the dark". If you're scared of the darkness, you could have not signed up? Although if you're not an underaged person and still scared of the dark, i think you need to see a doctor... Secondly, the food was worth it at $88 pricetag. You get to try 12 dishes, meaning each dish is only about $7-8. And there's foie gras, wagyu beef etc served, that's worth the price! And even for me, a heavy person, i was stuffed. How can anyone say the portion is too small, that's unbelievable unless you are as tall as the Rock. Now i'm not a wine connoisseur so i cant comment on the wine pairings, (which could be improved because white wine goes with cod fish) but the mocktails were delicious, and my sister is a fan of mocktails since she's underaged. Lastly, it also makes sense that a popular place would be crowded and sometimes you have to WAIT. I have queued for 2 hours for Man Man Unagi, Keisuke Ramen and Ichiran Ramen, singaporeans love to queue. But i didn't even feel the queue was long. I reached at 5.58 for my 6pm reservation, got my amuse boche and had a briefing (which was DETAILED), then later on spent 30min for debrief and also paying. Although i got a shock when i receive the bill, it was because I did not go and look at the price beforehand and thus didn't know how much to expect (that's my habit, i buy things that i like first and only know the price later), after I thought about it, I think it's a reasonable price. Overall, i feel like NOX is a meaningful social enterprise for the VI and I'm ok to pay at the current level because I can contribute to the VI and also enjoy awesome food. (ngee ann poly also has a similar concept but much more humbler fare, if you want to support VI but can't afford a lot). Ps: the toilet was nice and clean too 😂

If i could give NOX a 10 stars rating, i would. Price is quite steep but it was an eye opening experience for me. We were brought to a fully dark place and we struggled to find our utensils even though they were placed on the table. The staff was amazing and patient in helping us and explaining to us about the food we had afterwards.

It was an intriguing and wonderful experience to be dining in the dark. Me and my partner enjoyed the entire dining experience and was amazed at how the visually impaired staff coordinates and served the food/drinks. And we realised how much we relied on our eyes to eat as we couldn't figure out what we were eating most of the time 😅

I can honestly say that this has been one of the best dining experiences I've had in a long while. The portion of the food was nice and palatable. The flavours were plethora that kept my taste buds wanting more. The cocktails were impeccable and didn't feel too strong nor too weak. Best of all, Bernard, who attended us was very kind, friendly, and humorous. He elevated our experience so much more. As a person who enjoys listening to others life stories, I take heart to Bernard's story and am in awe of his outlook in life. Truly an inspirational meal.

Interesting experience to dine in total darkness and where communication is key. Come for the experience, don't set too high expectations for the food, and you'll enjoy! Feels like a normal restaurant less the act that you can't see anything, except perhaps the Cctv lights. Kudos to Halimi for having a sense of humor to soothing our group's anxiousness while dining in the dark. Food wise, was fun to guess what we are eating as it is a mystery menu and revealed only at the end and to pass drinks and pour water in the dark. Food taste not bad but nothing that wows.

A great great awesome experience! Really quite a "eye opening" dining experience you should all try! It's my first time here with my partner and we both were thoroughly surprised and blown by the atmosphere and hospitality of the service crew! Food was pretty decent as well and a big thank you to the staff! Appreciative! They were very welcoming and approachable right from the doorstep and until the end of the dining experience! Try if you havent! Cheers ^^

NOX has been on my food bucket list and it was an unforgettable 11/10 experience 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 ✅ unique concept with good food (I had a lot of fun guessing what I’m eating cos it’s literally pitch dark (but not scary) ✅ Bernard (host) made it super entertaining & his service is impeccable (I enjoyed the brief small talks w him) ✅ it’s a multi-sensory dining experience that I will rmb for a long time! 🌠 ✅ uninterrupted dinner cos you will lock away your phone (so you can concentrate on the conversations w your date!) Menu changes regularly & i really highly recommend everyone to try this interesting & exciting dining experience (they will reveal the dishes names at the end of the meal & its fun to see how accurate your guesses were!) 🖤 🌟Overall rating: 5/5 (highly recommend!) P.S. all my photos are taken at the level 1 lounge (not the main dining area)

Delayed post. Was there on 31Dec23 for new year eve countdown dinner. My friend and I were curious for this experience to dine in the dark. I would say we had an overall enjoyable experience:) We were welcomed by staff as soon as we arrived. And was ushered to a table at the ground floor lounge area. The ‘snacks’ were free (one each) and delicious. And drinks were optional to order. But was pretty shocked that a bottle of still/ sparkling water cost $8++. Of cos if you would like to, you can also order cocktail or mocktail. We waited for quite awhile as the crowd gathered. From couples to small groups. Tje staff would bring the guests as per group basis. We were asked to line up in a single file, with hands on the shoulders of the person in front of you (so if you are uncomfortable to do that if that’s a stranger- this is not for you). And was led by the visually challenged staff to level 2 via stairs where we slowly entered the pitch dark restaurant. Can get a little nervous from light to total darkness but be assured the staff do take care of their customers and making sure they were guided to seats and how to access their cutlery/ food on the table. Haha, it gets a bit tired staring into the darkness so I went from opened eyes to closed. Focusing all my senses to sounds and taste. 4 small dishes for appetizers, 4 small dishes for mains and 4 small desserts. My friend and I were chatting on the dark as we palate the food and made our guesses for the ingredients and that was kinda fun! 💃🏻 Be noted that toilet is only at the ground floor. So my friend who needed to go the washroom was guided back to the light by the staff and returned. (My advice is just go toilet before dining! lol) The food I must say were very flavorful and layers of taste bursting with each bite. After the experience, we were once guided by the staff back to ground floor and we were asked to pen down our guesses of the dishes we had. (No prizes for right answers, lol!!!) And finally, a male staff showed us the actual food we had on a iPad and gave us a very detailed sharing of the dishes - the origin, the ingredients etc. My friend and I did enjoyed the experience but at the same time, we probably would not go back. We felt hungry after the dinner, lol!! And ended at Maxwell food centre for wanton mee right after the experience, omg! Hahaha! But but…. For those who haven’t tried, I would say go for it! It’s an interesting experience- at least for once:) Staff team are fabulous! Thanks for the hardwork!👍🏻

Never in my life have I wondered how is it like to not being able to see but noxdineinthedark gave me a chance to experience that and I'm truly intrigued and inspired by the story behind those visually impact waiters which makes me appreciate more of what I have now. I had such great experience at Nox dining in total darkness. Not only does the food taste unique when you have no idea of what you are eating at all, but you also get to challenge yourself not to pour or drop anything. Not being able to bring your phone to the dining area is a plus point as I feel that you can have a special moment with each other, not looking at your devices. I really highly recommend everyone to experience it for yourself and you will know what I'm talking about.

Bernard is really nice! Should definitely come here at least once! Love the cocktails pairing too! They did not scrimp on the alcohol 😂 Also had an appetiser and ordered an extra cocktail before dinner (refer to photos). No phones allowed during dinner and it’s pitch black anyways so can’t help you there. Will come back again soon :)

Definitely an incredible experience, the dinner starts with a waiter settling us down with some drink and snack tasting before the real deal. When the time is up, we kept all our belongings into the locker and we were the first to walk into the completely dark room. The host (Halimi - very cheerful) then seated us at the corner (confirmed by touching around) of the room and gave us clear instructions of everything whereabouts. The courses started to serve one after another. Discipline and order are the key to enjoy all the foods until emptied. As well as where to put ur drink and utensil became very important. After the dinner we were guided back to the waiting area and Halimi share us his past that got us really sad and impressed at the same time. We were then later showed and explained the foods that we have taken. Trust me, it was mind blowing between what we tasted and how it looked. We will definitely come back in another 2 months for new menu! Thank you for the wonderful night Halimi!

Amazing experience! Make us feel like we take our sight for granted. The food was good, we had a great time guessing and discussing what we were eating. After the experience, the team will reveal what we ate. Halimi our host was great and informative! He shared with us his experience. Would highly recommend!

A unique dining experience. We started off with uneasiness in the dark but the waiter Kel helped to ease the environment and guided us what to do. Overall food is good but a bit cold. We did not have pleasant experience with the drink ordering. While we were waiting at level 1, a waiter told us to choose drinks which were for pairing with meal. We clarified twice and he told us the drinks we ordered were for pairing with meal. During payment we were told that the drinks we ordered at level 1 were a la carte price, not the drink pairing price. We tried to explain to the cashier of the wrong ordering info we got but they did not bother to listen to us. What a disappointment at the end!

A very unique dining experience. As the name suggests, you dine in absolute pitch darkness. It is fun but takes some time getting used to. But literally its so dark you cannot see your own hands let alone the person in front of you. All the staff are visually impaired, so I really applaud the social initiative. They server 3 courses, with 4 dishes per course. At the end they ask you to guess what you had based on your sense of taste and touch. We got most of the things wrong!! Just to set the stage, the food will not blow your mind, but you don't go here for the food, you go for the experience, which you should definitely try once!

At the start of our night, we received the sad news of an old friend’s unexpected passing. but the dinner reservation had already been made and couldn’t be cancelled though we were not in the mood. God certainly worked in His usual amazing way such that our paths crossed with Bernard and his fabulous colleagues at Nox. truly humbling experience to hear Bernard’s inspirational testimony. service was excellent all around.

I highly recommend this restaurant. I was in town alone and this seemed interesting. I was able to briefly experience what it is like to completely rely on someone to lead you in total darkness. The food was eclectic and delicious. The chef is very proud of his creations. Had I been here with my wife, it would have been romantic well and we would likely have described the taste, texture, and smell of the food and guess what we are eating. At the end you get to guess what you ate and they describe the dishes and compare them to your guess. You won’t be disappointed.

I loved my first time experiencing what it was like to have zero vision and to solely rely on my other senses and my partner. It was amazing to go on a date with my boyfriend of just one month and experience tasting food and getting to know each other without all the visuals and looks coming into play. I loved our conversation and time all the more at NOX and plus, we got to guess the braille and experience the dark together and I can’t wait to go again and bring more people like my parents to go with me!

I had no idea that our host, Halimi, was completely blind. It really took me by surprise. Throughout the entire time, he took care of all 13 of us really well and ensured that we were comfortable. This made dining in pitch darkness all the more meaningful. There were times I felt helpless and a little dizzy. But listening to Halimi’s story really warmed my heart. The entire dining experience made me treasure my senses more and appreciate the life I have now. I will never forget his parting words to us “Aim for perfection and in the process you will achieve excellence!” An experience i would not forget!

This is the real BLIND DATE & the MOST UNIQUE DINING EXPERIENCE that I’ve ever had in my life! 😌 I was pretty nervous at first since I’m not a fan of dark but we truly enjoyed 12 mystery dishes that are served & guided by NOX’s visually impaired hosts in their pitch-black dining room ⬛️ Super impressed with their ability to communicate each other and clear explanation about what’s everything on the table! 👏🏻 Thanks to NOX for giving us a multi-sensory dining experience & sensational culinary adventure that we will never forget! Also thanks to our hosts, Halimi & Bernard for the lovely service, you guys really inspired us 😍🫶🏻 If you never try it before, TRUST ME you have to try it guys! A brilliant experience. When entering the restaurant you are seated downstairs. I ordered a cocktail and was brought an appetiser. Then I placed my belongings into a locker and followed my waiter upstairs. I went late on a Wednesday evening and at the end of the night was the only guest left. The service is faultless as is the food. A unique experience which makes you self reflect on how much you take your own eyesight for granted. I also took a drinks package where they matched wine to the meal. At the end they reveal what you had just ate. There are many concepts like this globally but this is the first time I have done one.

The front doors alrdy look so pretty. When you step into the restuarant, it looks really posh and sleek. I like that they allow diners to relax and chill in the sitting area where we were given a choice if we wanted to have something to drink first. They also gave us complimentary starters which is this delicious scallop mousse on tiny ice cream cones. So freakin delicious! I ordered the coffee whiskey latte which was the best coffee liquor i ever drunk! It blended so well together. Love it! We were brought into the dining area by Randy, the staff that was serving us. Though the staff serving us in the dark were visually impaired, they didnt seemed to be at all when serving us. Randy was so friendly and helpful. And even managed to crack some jokes with us. The food was alright, some were really good, some were so so. But it was still alright. Though a little bit more on the pricey side, i would still highly recommend giving this place a go, as the experience was great and the staff were super friendly. They do change their menu every 2 months. So customers will come back for more :) please give this place a go! ^^

This was one of the most amazing experiences I’ve ever had. Eating in the dark really heightens your other senses of touch and hearing and, most importantly, taste. The food was absolutely delicious. It was a 3 course, 12 tasting plate dinner with paired wines. Bernard was our waiter and he was sensational. Absolutely perfect in every way. He put us at ease with his good humour. Best waiter ever!! Would highly recommend this restaurant.

This was such a wonderful experience. From the moment you arrive, all of the staff are attentive and explain what to expect during the course of the evening. Once you are in the dark room, you become much more aware of your other senses - and how much much you rely on sight. It was fun trying to identify what food has been served, and of course finding out how close your guesses were at the end. Randy was our host for the evening. He was fantastic at explaining all of the details to us, and helping us to feel comfortable, all with a great sense of humour.

This place is not for the safe ones! It's for those willing to taste and try food you can't even see. Throughout the meal you are in the dark and you can't see a single thing. Even moving your arms and all are a new feeling because you can't see anything. Texture will become something you focus on, for me it completely deceived me when i found what i was eating ! The servers are inspiring, I would love to point out Kevin our main server and Halimi, who has such a wonderful life story. "Hope stands for Happiness on Planet Earth ❤️‍🔥" I would love for anyone to at least try once, especially couples, because you tend to end up focusing on the little things!

A unique dining experience you need to try at least once! No photos of the food for obvious reasons, it was pitch dark and no electronic devices were allowed in the dining room. Enjoy cocktails at the lounge before and after dinner. Dining experience well organised, you are led to your table, and communication was very clear. You would imagine it would be messy dining without being able to see but meals are served in small bowls (4 starters, 4 mains and 4 desserts) which gives you variety and puts your taste buds to the rest. Your senses heighten as you are unable to see, and you can appreciate the flavours a lot more. The ingredients/dishes are revealed at the end of the meal. They also cater to dietary restrictions.

This was one of a kind dining experience. We were warmly welcomed and our personal preferences were clarified at first. The dining area at the entrance had a very calming yet luxurious atmosphere. We were well informed of all what to expect. We were escorted upstairs while closing our eyes and carefully handed over to out host in a pitch dark room. The service was excellent, without any mishaps although we were in total darkness. We appreciated eating out food with all our other senses. It was an eye opener as to how the visually hard eat their meals. By the time of the main meal we had completely adjusted to tasting and enjoying our food without being able to see it. it was interesting having to guess all the things we were eating and remembering them as well so as to write the questionnaire given at the end of the dining experience. The food was delicious and in good proportions. We enjoyed the starters , the mains and the desserts equally. Definitely recommend to everyone to dine in at the NOX. Kudos to the mastermind of this innovative dining experience.

Upon arriving you are made to feel very welcome. Nikolas is a great host. Explains everything you need to know about the evening ahead. The cocktails we chose whilst waiting to go up to the dining room were out of this world. Perfect taste & execution. Upon heading to the dining room we were greeted by our visually impaired waiter for the evening Bernard. He was full of wit and made you feel relaxed. The dining room is comfortable and doesn’t feel crowded as it’s kept nice and cool. As for the food, it’s difficult to describe. I personally felt that what we were given was not worth the price we paid for the overall meal. The quantity of food was very small. Some dishes lacked enough taste. We finished our meal and headed back downstairs for the debrief. The menu was explained to us, and majority of dishes we guessed some of the ingredients. Some of the dishes contained things that we feel we didn’t taste, which again led to me feeling a little underwhelmed. Paid our bill at $275. Followed by a second dinner elsewhere. It’s worth the experience, however I’m not sure the food matched the service or cocktails.

Overall a great and interesting concept and dining experience. Went with a friend to celebrate Christmas and was truly delighted with the experience and the friendly staff. We turned up about 15 mins early and we seated down stairs where they allow you to choose cocktail/wine/mocktail pairing with your courses (this is non compulsory and comes at an added cost) when you head up to the dining experience. The two main servers at our table were really friendly and interactive, made the whole experience comfortable and fun! My friend and I spent our time guessing what we ate and once we were done, they gave us a look at the dishes we were given and told us the ingredients. It’s a must try for a memorable dining experience and also to try out new foods, personally didn’t know I was eating asparagus until I found out it was included in one of the dishes.

An incredible and amazing birthday experience!! The welcome dish was a delicious crab salad served in a vanilla cone, and the staff were very welcoming and knowledgeable about the dietary requirements and dishes. Atmosphere was really cool, and it was a great place to take many photos on the first floor. Before you go into the main dining experience in the dark, you have to store your belongings in a locker. I would like to commend Bernard and Halimi for being so helpful and entertaining during our dining in the dark experience, sharing their stories and jokes and ensuring that my family and I could have a pleasant dinner. I would also like to commend Nicolas for arranging a small cake for my birthday, and Eugene for translating the menu and explaining the dishes at the end in mandarin for my grandmother. All in all, celebrating my birthday at NOX was a wonderful decision and I would definitely recommend this place to others if they want to try something new!!

What an unusual and exhilarating experience @noxdineinthedark was! Whilst I was unable to capture the dining in the dark experience, I can confirm the food, and most importantly the service, was amazing. I can’t describe how the initial few minutes felt, but I was completely out of my comfort zone. At the expense of my ability to see, all my other senses were heightened. I want to also note the waiters who attended to every customer were blind, and used the sound of their mouth to navigate around the room. I was fortunate enough to hear the incredible story of our waiter, which was nothing short of inspiring. This experience is one of a kind ❤️❤️❤️ #singapore #noxdineinthedark

Quite the interesting and unique experience to dine completely in the dark, considering that visuals play such a huge part in a lot of your regular meals/arrangements. You see nothing in the pitch back main dining area. Extremely flavourful dishes with great drink pairing options. The crew were absolutely warm and friendly, and loved the fact that visually impaired are hired to help serve the food. The atmosphere was classy and this would be a great place to celebrate any special occasion, or to host guests from out of town, with the restaurant housed in a conservation shophouse in the historical Chinatown district. Menu items are switched up every two months, so repeat visits are definitely possible!

This experience is like no other. Having read some reviews on Trip Advisor with all being favourable, it was evident that it had to be experienced. We were sat down for a pre dinner drink and taste teaser for what was ahead. The staff then introduced us to our blind waiter that was looking after us for the evening. He took us to the main dining reassuring us that we would be safe and also had a light hearted and comical approach to the unseeing. Without giving to much away to spoil it for others all I can say is this dinner was worth every penny for the experience and the food was delicious also. We take for our sight for granted and for this to be temporarily removed and allow other senses to lead the way was intense. Give this a go. Thank you to all staff, especially Bernard our waiter.

A unique dining experience. The food was good, as well as the whole new experience of dining (and pouring your own water!) in pitch darkness. Although you're kept in the dark about what you're eating until after your meal, they do check in advance about dietary restrictions and allergies, so don't be put off just because there are some things you can't eat. Definitely one to try at least once!

Excellent food.. Very unique and humbling experience.. Plus the added fun of guessing what you’re eating.. At the end they show you the photos of your food and explain what went in them.. You’ll be in for pleasant surprises for sure.. Overall an amazing experience which everyone must try once at least !!!

Unique, fresh and fun dining concept! 4 sections per course (appetiser, main, dessert) that were all different, yummy and kept us guessing all the way through. Definitely recommend this experience to anyone who wants to try something different to celebrate an occasion (not the cheapest of experiences).

Definitely a cool experience, but the food left something to be desired. we are greeted by a very friendly hostess, and our waiter for the meal was very helpful and attentive. The experience of dining in the dark had the intended effect -- it was a bit uncomfortable and made you appreciate the non-visual elements of the meal. The food however we were not quite as impressed with. There was a lot of opportunity to mix different flavors and textures that would be surprising as you don't have the benefit of seeing the food before you eat it. We didn't think they made full use of that opportunity. The food was good overall, but just wasn't quite as good as it could have been. Though we didn't leave hungry, it was a bit on the expensive side for the food itself, discounting the rest of the experience.

What a great experience. This is not how I want to dine out every night. It really made me appreciate how much of my culinary experience is through my eyes... This is an excellent dining experience with friends to gain a deeper appreciation for those who are Blind, but I think more importantly to gain a better understanding of our own senses other than sight! The staff are amazing - no words to fully describe just how they make the experience of dining without sight come alive.

It's a very interesting concept restaurant. Dining in the dark. The food is also very well crafted. The people serving are blind but lovely. We were served by Bernard. Excellent service and a sense of humour. Highly recommended to try.

Dining in the dark is a bit gimmicky, and I must admit you have to be into it. It's not really my thing, but it was interesting to experience. In the dining room it is truly pitch black. The waiters, who are visually impaired or blind are truly amazing, they did such a great job and are so nice! The food is ok, but do make sure you make crystal clear what your dietary constraints are, and check at every course (it did go wrong in our group). Overall, interesting to try, but you have to be into it...

All the pictures shown on the website are fake as you get served 4 small bowls of mashed up food each course and I could feel that there was no presentation as I was feeling the food before eating it. It was just mushy soft food and you pay for the blind experience. Which was not enjoyable for me as I was stressed throughout the dinner and had indigestion from the incredibly low quality sour wine as well.

A great memorable life time experience for dining in a complete darkness ambience the first time. Make me learned to treasure our eyesights and understand the tough lives of the blinds. The usual similar food n drinks taste very different when u can only consume them without seeing what u are eating or drinking. It's a good idea to warm up with their special house mixed cocktails with their briefing session at their bar before move forward to upstair for eating in the dark. Staff are very frdly n prices are reasonable. Special compliment to Bernard for his professional n frdly services extended to us in the dark dining room.

Great experience at Nox, and was wonderfully impressed by our server Bernard. He was a very cheerful and reassuring server. My fiance and I thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here under his care.- he is definitely a valuable asset to the company. Food was great too! We were very impressed with the whole experience, from when we entered, right till the end where we were "debriefed". This is an experience I'll recommend to anyone!

The experience of dining in the dark was unique and exciting, but the food did not feel worth of the price tag. The service was also a bit slow in the waiting bar (although it was a busy night). Still, I commend our host Bernard for his excellent service and humour.

This is a terrible meal and experience. Yes it’s pitch black. But 2.5 hours of mostly waiting around and all we had was 8 small pots of gross, or at best, indistinguishable food. We left before the dessert course and got a partial refund. Whoever gives this 5 stars must either be a paid commenter or have seriously low standards of dining on any level whatsoever.

Overly priced dining experience. No wow factor for the food. Long waiting time, we waited for 45 mins downstairs, even we appeared on time on our booking time. Staff downstairs are inattentive, a chaos with lots of guests waiting at the bar to be served upstairs. After eating, there’s a pretty meaningless survey to fill and there we go again, waiting to be interviewed.... Bernard was fantastic with his service upstairs though. In total 2 hrs, we spent 75% of our time waiting. Not worth it, a rip off with the food. Would spend the money elsewhere for better food & more pleasant dining experience.

I’m extremely bias to this place as i really love their concept and so far i have already went twice one in 2017 and another end 2019 Dining in the dark is just a truly amazing way to enjoy what is served in front of you. And you get to really connect to whoever you bring along as your most distracting sense “your sight” is taken away from you. However i’m not sure if my expectations were too high cause after coming back for the 2nd time after 2 years, their food standard has dropped significantly.. some of the items weren’t balanced in seasoning or the ratio of the food items were mismatched. I remember there was this pork dish which had some pickled items to it and there was so much of the pickled item it turned the entire dish sour. Do know that you are eating in complete darkness and you cant even see your own hand placed right in front of you. Overall a really interesting experience, great for dates and surprising your partner or whoever you decide to bring along.

This place is baffling. I have walked by several times but never stopped in until today. They have a pretty limited menu - pretty much a bowl, burrito, or sandwich all with the same ingredients. I went with the bowl which had rice, beef, potato salad, and kimchi. It was garnished with some sauces, cilantro, and jalepenos.

Interesting and fun concept. Average to poor service downstairs at the bar and when using lockers on Friday evening when my Partner and i visited. The staff were overly attentive us when we sat down with 3 people asking for our drinks orders before we could look at the menu, but then ignoring us completely after we asking for 2 minutes to decide what we'd like. Despite me holding 3 bags and clearly struggling to use the small lockers, no help was given or even offered. Upstairs waiting staff were lovely, friendly, fun and very attentive. Water should be offered to be served when guests have sat down at their table if they choose to pay for it - Me and my partner asked about sparkling water around dessert being served and were eventually served a bottle towards the end of our meal. I understand and appreciate that spillages do and have happened, therefore hot water can't be served (likely due to puic liability reasons etc.), however the service of some water service should still be offered at the very least. The post-meal 'quiz' felt very rushed, impersonal and uncaring. More like a 'tick box' exercise for the guy reviewing our answers and no real attempt at customer interactions with any charisma or fun around the situation. The same male member of staff and the male manager then tried to apologise after reading my feedback on the same form. They tried to apologise then pursuade me around to their viewpoint with a brief explaination which was appreciated in some ways but not necessary - Feedback was honest and reflective of our visit and experience.

finally got to try dining in the dark before they close their doors in late Aug… really enjoyed myself… I recommend getting wine pairing with the dinner, it helped so much with easing the fear / nervousness of total darkness (my friend, not me 🙊)… post dinner cocktails is great cos the bar is generally empty (only open to dinner guests) 😎 Rahmat is super attentive, sensitive & patient. He makes sure we are feeling good with darkness & I appreciate how he shared from his heart abt cherishing our lives & our sight.

Definitely a must try if you haven't done it before, think the tricky part is knowing how to scoop the food out using a spoon so that food won't spill or drop when you have no idea what's in the small bowl, but definitely a fun experience. There's no water served here so might as well grab a mocktail or a cocktail to bring it up with you for the meal

NOX is always quite an experience. Without your sense of sight, the other senses come to the fore - smell, taste, textures. It’s fun to guess the dishes and ingredients. We tried the New Year’s menu which included premium ingredients like wagyu, Hokkaido scallops, and foie gras. Cocktails also available for pairing. You’re shown the dishes at the end and they actually look amazing, so I’m half wondering if we would have enjoyed it more being able to see them! Oh and service here is always spectacular. The blind wait staff here are so much better than regular ones at other restaurants.

First time dining here. We were firstly given a beverage menu for us to choose our drinks before we were guided into a completely pitch black room upstairs (led by a friendly blind waiter). FYI, they only have still or sparkling water sold at $8 each. They serve 3 mystery courses, with 4 bowls in each course. The first course were appetisers, second were the main dishes, and the third were desserts. As we couldn't see our dishes (or our surroundings) at all, we could fully immerse ourselves in the taste of the food, which were quite good, in my opinion. We could hear the chatter around us, of other customers trying to guess their food, and of the waiters whistling some sort of code? I'm just guessing that the bird whistling were done by the waiters maneuvering their way around in the dark, but I could be wrong. The food and service were good. The only issues I had was that there was a very long waiting time between each course, and we could not get the waiter's attention to signal for the next course to come, or to signal that we had finished all of our 3 courses and were ready to leave. We kept saying "Excuse me? Hello?" to the darkness, but no response. We sat in the dark for quite some time after finishing our desserts and kept trying to get hold of a waiter to tell them we had finished our food, but we (or I) could hear them just moving past us and somehow ignoring us. I think another waiter came by and noted that the waiter assigned to us had not yet cleared our empty bowls for quite some time. He apologised and cleared it for us, then got the original waiter to end our meal and escort us out of the dark room. Both waiters were friendly. Other than the long waiting time, the experience of eating in the dark was quite interesting, and the food was tasty. After being led out of the dark room, we were then asked to guess what food we were eating. They then showed us with pictures on an ipad what we were eating in the dark room. I think we got almost all wrong, but I was quite satisfied with the food they served. The bill totalled up to around $250 for 2 pax, and it was a little bit too pricey in my opinion. Hence, the 3.5 stars (rounded to 4 stars) rating: for the long waiting time and little high price, but good food and good service. Would recommend others to come try here at least once.

It seemed like it would be a novel experience to dine in pitch darkness. However the food was mediocre and practically cold, though I wouldn't say it was bad. I imagined it would be a sensorial experience where you could focus on the food texture and flavours, but all I heard throughout the dinner was the clucking sounds the numerous waiters were making to make their presence known to their co-workers as they moved around. And there was a lot of movement and a lot of sound. I could also hear the lady behind me more loudly and clearly than I could hear my dining partner, so it was certainly close quarters with other diners (for she wasn't 1 metre away, even if I couldn't see her!). It definitely wasn't a peaceful and enjoyable dining environment. After the 3 courses I actually couldn't wait to get out. Was it worth the $88++ per pax not including wine? Barely... was it worth the one time experience? Perhaps, but not again.

Recently had a dinner with my close friends here and if any of you are looking at all of these reviews, don't hesitate. Book and experience! It's a once in a lifetime experience that i will remember. Yes, the food is delicious, the experience the most unique, but the one thing i'll remember more than anything? Those take my breath away in terms of them overcoming challenges and still living life to the fullest and giving us all the best dinner service :) As a psychologist who works with students with moderate to severe intellectual disabilities, I am more than happy to support Nox with their employment of visually impaired individuals with a huge zest of life and a giving heart of sharing their stories. Thank you NOX and i really do hope you guys continue with such an amazing experience for the world to partake in together. Much love!

A rip off of SAVH's dining in the dark experience - which I would highly recommend. First floor looks and feels posh enough, but very poor textile experience (think plastic chairs and tables with similar cutlery and drinkware) when you've reached the dining area. As the sense of sight is taken away and one is focussed on their sense of touch, taste and hearing, one is truly disappointed with the experience. Even the sound system on the second floor was shoddy and paled in comparison with the sound system of the reception. Not to mention the poor acoustic and loud chatter of wait staff. The experience died with the hardselling of bottled water to have the experience of pouring water into a glass in the dark. Overall not worth the time or money.

One of the most awesome and interesting dining experience I've ever had. I would strongly encourage everyone to come here at least once. Our phones and watches had to be kept in a locker provided to us before we could enter the dining area upstairs. The photo is just an example of what you can expect to see while dining. Absolutely NOTHING. Total darkness. Food was served to us in 3 courses, with 4 small bowls of different dishes per course. We were adviced on which dish we should start and end with. It was challenging at first, trying to find our bowls and utensils based on touch alone, but we adapted quickly. With only our sense of smell and taste to rely on, there was a large array of flavours and everything tasted delicious. We had fun guessing and debating what food were in each bowl. At the end of our dining experience, the staff shared what we were served. A huge shout-out to Halimi, who was our host for that night. He was extremely friendly and attentive. Although he is visually impaired, he never allowed his disability to get the better of him. It felt extremely reassuring to have him around. Don't be shy to chat with your fellow diners seated at the other tables.

Great meaning and stories for the soul, Bernard and team were excellent despite being dealt a tough hand in life. Glad to have stepped in their world, an experience to go at least once in your life.

The experience let's you feel how does it feel to be in pure darkness. Kel is an amazing host he cracks jokes and is reassuring. My partner is not a fan of dark, however, he is able to make us feel at ease. The method of dining of guessing the dish is also special, it's worth the try Do say hi to Kel and Bernard if you visit this place!

Understand that they may be overwhelm with Valentine's day, but they seem unprepared for the amount of patrons. We were first greeted on ground with welcome drinks and then brought up to the dining area. Even throughout the dining the service seems a little rush, just as I'm about to finish my meal the server came and ask if I'm done which my partner, who has yet to fully indulge in his meal felt rushed into finishing his. No doubt it's truly an extraordinary experience but once is enough. Food is good but the main courses portion could be bigger.

What an amazing experience that I highly recommend everyone to try at least once. The food is pretty decent however don’t expect anything spectacular. But what won our hearts over were the lovely staff both at the bar area as well as in the dining room. The servers especially Bernard and Halimi shared with us their personal stories and kept us entertained throughout the dinner. They were such great hosts and truly professionals in hospitality! Thumbs up

Have wanted to visit Nox for the longest time even before it has relocated to this current location. It's the best restaurant that I have visited this year with my husband. Price is on the high side, but I believed my experience at Nox and the food and drinks served really live up to its name. Vibe: Could only describe the lounge area because that's the only place with lights on. It is very cosy. Food: At the restaurant area on the 2nd floor, everything served is a surprise. 3 courses, total of 12 small dishes were served. They change their menu every 2 months, for their effort i would patronise again to try their food. Also as it was my birthday, the lava cake they served as the lounge is a 100 out of 10 for me. Staff: We enjoyed talking to the waiter at the restaurant Bernard (especially when he shared his stories with us), he is so friendly in guiding us in the dark to our seats and serving us our food in total darkness. We are truly amazed by how the staff coordinates with one another in the restaurant.

Decided to celebrate my 37th birthday at NOX after hearing about it from a friend. It was an experience that brought about a mixture of feelings. Thank you Bernard, Halimi and all for the warm hug and wonderful night. I totally enjoyed myself!

Food was great, although small servings. Service was very good! Staff were visually impaired and were really impressive! Atmosphere was a bit noisy though. Definitely a must try at least once!

Great ambience! Heightened taste sensory when you can’t see what you are eating. Surpassed all expectations! If you are looking for an awesome unique experience, this is the place. Second time back here since they moved. Look for Bernard for an engaging conversation as well! Highly recommend!

Food: The food was nice. Tasted many different varieties without looking at them first. Service: Friendly staff which will guide you throughout the session Atmosphere: The shop is nicely renovated. Cozy and comfortable reception area. Very interesting experience dining in the dark.

It’s a humbling experience that you have to try it yourself. I was blinded (not blindfolded) as we dine in pitch dark. Challenging as we attempt to refill our glass, finding the fork while deciphering what’s on our dinner platter. But first, you get to the amuse-bouche and a cocktail at the lounge before being ushered upstairs by your blind waiter. P.S.: the best way to go underground since you gotta lock away your phones and smart-watches before dinner.

Kevin and Rahammad served us while we were upstairs, and they were so friendly, helpful and chatty. When we went back down, Kyle explained everything so well and really kept us engaged. Very friendly, pleasant and polite staff here. The experience of dining in the dark was so exciting and fun, would definitely be back for more! P.S. celebrated our anniversary here and the staff were so happy for us. Which was great!

Just had a wonderful dining experience. Food were yummy and both our host Bernard and Halimi were awesome. Both are visually impaired in their later years but their positivity, cheerfulness & their attitude of living their life to the fullest are so awesome. My happiest birthday!❤️

My first time had dining in a complete dark experience in SG It was a memorable dinner as we get to experience the world and life of the visually impaired individual for a night.it is humbling and remind me to learn that never take our sense of sight for granted. It wasn’t easy honestly, i survived and had a good time, thanks to great host, Bernard & Kevin. Bernard, a former active and adventurous person who love outdoor activities and travel lost his sight in 2017. This experience gave me a glimpse into his world now. Pre-dinner cocktail was served with crab salad prepping u to go upper level for main dinner. Each course consisted of four unique dishes served in four individual bowl on a platter. Guests instructed to try the bowl closest, then continue to taste each bowl in a clockwise sequence. It was really fun figuring and guessing ingredients post-dinner.
