Food: 5/5 Had a good meal sharing the portions with friends. We ordered a diverse selection off their main sets and they were satisfying. Service: 4/5 For the senior servers. Friendly, knowledgeable service. Junior servers who don't know how to be friendly don't count. Could be more observant of customers waiting outside - sweeping the dirt out the door and being oblivious of the customer waiting next to your door while you get ready for 12pm is a terrible first impression - fortunately, the food saved the day. Ambience: 3/5 If you get comfortable cozy chairs. Of course, they remind you of an hour time limit but then you haven't finished serving our food, so time got extended to 1.5h... You didn't rush us, so the pacing was still okay. Cost: $240+ for 4 pax in 1.5h Will I return? Sure. I want to try some other items. :)

what a sure fire way to turn a good 4 stars to a 2. food / drink is just one component about the meal, luckily it was done well. no complaints on this at all, dishes executed well, justice done to the duck, Dover sole and a beautiful purple cabbage. service however, was abysmal. save for one apologetic waitress, it was enough to sour the entire meal. noise travels in the small indoor space, so it’s worth having the staff learning how to lower their inside voices if they’re not going to be polite. the furthest from being hospitable, and enough to put us off ever returning.

Unpleasant experience at The Masses 1. The two of us reached the restaurant at around 5.50 pm and we were told that they were “full house”. Peered inside, there was only one to two tables occupied. Fine, perhaps the reservations will come by at around 6 to 6.30pm. We were asked to seat at the table outside facing the road. It was very warm, they didn’t turn on the gigantic standing fan outside, there were mosquitoes (bitten a few times), and flies. We left at around 7pm but they were still not “full house” inside. I find it a bit ridiculous to get your current customers (who left before your ‘7.30pm reservation’, mind you) to sit outside in the heat while you are expecting customers to arrive.. 2. Food was very pricey, the truffle fries looked like macdonalds fries? They had no truffle smell/taste even though you can see thinly sliced truffles on top. Was a 2/5 for me. 3. The Iberico pork dish was charred. Noodles on top was okay. Kale chips were good. 2/5 4. Lamb loin is good. 4/5 Not gonna come back for this kind of service and poor planning.

Dishes tried 1. Ccc pasta - didn't appreciate as much as I thought as I couldn't really define the flavour in there as its too 'rojak' 2. Purple cabbage - cooked to the right doneness. The sauce is delicious and the addition of thr roe gives it a different texture. 3. Duck confit - standard duck confit with crispy skin and tender/moist meat. Was not too salty as well The Wok hey noodles is decent but didn't wow. Would have prefer the mash potato pairing. 4. Braised Angus beef cheek. - flavourful dish. The panchetta was a nice addition to the dish. Good if there is rice to pair it with. 5. Yuzu n citrus - sour dessert. Good to round off a heavy meal

3 pax dining in. We had made a reservation and called to find out the seating was outdoors. Thankfully we could change it to indoor seating, which is limited in capacity. Really enjoyed our meal. All 3 of us ordered the chef’s menu and tried as much variety as possible. Beef and pork were tender and not dry.

This place was so much more than what we expected! It’s v unassuming on the outside but expect French-Asian fusion food that’ll blow your mind!! We got the following: 1. C&C&C&C pasta: it’s a cold pasta that’s well balanced with all the Cs - crab, chorizo, caviar…confit lemon apparently?? Each forkful of angel hair pasta was oh so umami & textured (for lack of a better word) with the crisp chorizo bits and pop pop caviar. Major regrets not ordering the bigger portion. 2. Duck confit with hor fun: absolutely amazing, think a crisp skin encasing a melt-in-your-mouth fat layer encasing the most tender and flavorful duck meat…hor fun was v wok hei and I liked the yolk crumbs but the duck really stole the show. 3. Beef bone-in short ribs: tender but was very ordinary compared to the above two. We liked the charred veggies that came in the claypot & silky smooth bed of mashed potatoes. 4. Scallion Yorkshire pudding: interesting albeit a bit plain. My first time trying this dish, I dig the choux-like texture. I’d give them a bonus star if I could for the ambience and playlist of nostalgic songs… 2nd visit 8/12/21: We came back to try the dishes on their Christmas menu! Loved the foie gras puthivier (an interesting pastry pie thing with just the right amount of foie gras that wasn’t overwhelming). The mullet was o-kay; incredibly fresh but not as fantastic as we expected flavor-wise. We tried the bread n spreads as well - umami butter got a little unctuous after the first few bites. Kaya was nice.

Have been to The Masses several times this month with different friends to try their Xmas Menu. Extremely impressed with the quality of the food which is interesting and innovative - a mix of classic French with Asian notes. And for such reasonable prices! Truly excellent value. Regular dishes worth noting include the famous purple cabbage; the zucchini flowers; the saddle of lamb and the yummy pork chop. The Xmas 2021 menu is definitely worth trying and beautifully presented especially the Jerusalem Artichoke soup with truffles, the mullet and the bergamot semifreddo. On the latest occasion, they even brought out a dessert platter for my friend with Happy Birthday on it without me asking. Wait service could be more consistent and one of the waitresses could certainly be less like a blur sotong, but at the same time I was very impressed that the head waitress knows exactly how to open a champagne bottle, coaxing the cork out gently rather than trying to do a splashy pop. In conclusion, The Masses is a gem in Singapore's often over-priced restaurant scene.

Fun and comfortable place, unpretentious. Intriguing menu worth sampling on repeat visits. Nice fusion twist to most items. Enjoyed purple cabbage and tiger prawns as starter, duck confit nicely done with crisp external layer, and lemon sole fish with tangy dressing. Service was alright, ambience great for gathering with friends.

Came for dinner & celebrate my husband's birthday. Every dishes I ordered are quite well-balanced in terms of taste. The staffs are really nice and friendly too. Really appreciate the effort to leave a birthday message on the dessert upon my last min request.

This lovely resturant is located just off Liang Seah Street which houses a number of eating places. As such, parking is really a concern as spaces are limited especially during dinner and weekends. Not a big resturant hence reservation is highly encouraged. There are both indoor and outdoor seatings. Personal preference. The main attraction is the food. They are all very interesting. French plus a bit of Singaporean twist. The place is nicely decorated. Small but you do not feel constraint. Staff are friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!!!

A gem which serves quality fusion dish! Pasta is well seasoned! Especially the C&C&C&C pasta which pack with lots of umami flavours. In my opinion, there are no hit and miss dishes. Every dishes they serve are cooked to perfection! Atmosphere is pleasant. Definitely a place for date or even family gathering. Price is steep but justifiable with the quality food they serve! All in all, this is a place to visit if u looking for something unique and at same time quality food! Staffs are friendly and helpful too! To restaurant staff: One suggestion is to change the hand soap in the toilet as it smells “overdue” 😅

Awesome food.. if you’re a fan of cushion cuisine, this is the place to be. Came in a group of 7 and we tried different dishes. The escargot, char siew lamp, iberico pork and fish is an absolute delight. The service staff Lilian is very friendly and helpful, love her attitude! I would highly recommend this place and would definitely revisit here.

Went to this place for lunch this week day. From website there lunch set have two choice for 2 course $27.9 and 3 course $34.9. So we two order 2 course and after payment actually paid $81+ I ask reason. The young lady told because now change to 2 course is $34.9 and 3 course $45 so that was not satisfied for me. Also when you order from menus. Actually there still show you old price on menu. But when you payment you should pay different price. Was really first time met this situation at Singapore.

What an underrated restaurant! The food is superb and I love the Angus short ribs that just melts in your mouth. It's to die for! What a great restaurant to visit and it's recommended to book in advance before coming over as it will be pack during dinner and lunch time. They do change their menu every so often but if you're adventurous, ask the staff on what they personally recommend to try.

Enjoyed the food. Delicious and well balanced. Enjoyed the pork Tomahawk, Duck Confit with Wok Hey Rice Noodles, as well as the risotto. Did not enjoy the Desserts as much. Place was rather small, with the tables placed really closed to one another. Great experience overall. Will like to go back to try more.

Restaurant was pretty empty on PH morning. Food was nice with a good twist. Kueh pie tee casing was soft, will be better if it crispy. Waffles & roe, waffles wasn’t warm. I felt it will be better if it warm and crispy. Duck confit > 5Cs pasta.

J bought 3pax lunch @ the masses on beach road on 25.3.2021.^^ just before 12pm thereabout cannot find parking ended up parking at bugus junction & walked.. food was good👍 crab pietee just $3 for 3, good loads of sweet crabmeat.. we took the $29++pax set lunch, which include coffee or tea… the CCCC crabmeat chorizo caviar confit lemon with lobster sauce looks stunning tasted just good ok turns out the purple cabbage stood out more..tasted great & equally stunning looks.. I seldom take duck confit, did today & it was better than most..skin crispy and meat was moist and tender and tasty..some I had previously meat was sinewy and old…& quite surprisingly the horfun that came with it wokhae really good YS’s chicken was good too, quite tender, though there was the end piece he started with which he said tough for me, J’s claypot angus beef cheek was best of 3..tender & tasty. chef dylan ong has a great philosophy 众 as 3 人 – himself, his team and customers…let see how the masses develops…

Such a delightful venue with a very interesting menu - the set lunches are definitely worth exploring and I can't wait to be back for dinner! The hogs head was a first for me, very intense but very well balanced by the fresh lime wedge (it's served with it on the side, as well as what was kind of like soft shell tacos). My lamb was under but it was a t bone so it's a tricky one - the team are absolutely wonderful and were quick to replace it. All the flavours are a gorgeous combination of South East Asian and French - I strongly recommend a reservation - they get quite busy and it's not a very big venue. Cannot emphasize enough how lovely the staff are - found a spot for me at the counter and were very kind and attentive even though every table was full!

Their lunch set menu is different price as what they advertised. They advertised $29 for set lunch, end up the set lunch cost $39. Feel cheated, they should update their menu if it changes frequently with different price. I top up the sea urchin, but only gave 1 tiny slice. The pasta look totally different from the website and all cutlery look like kopitiam.

Overall, food was alright, above average but not wowed by it. It was quite crowded for a Sunday night and there seem to be a hype for a few dishes (c&c pasta, purple cabbage, duck confit). Pasta was pretty good, though I recommend to share it with someone as it can become gelak after awhile. Cabbage was surprisingly lovely, very good butter sauce. I would love for it to be abit more charred Lamb was a little disappointing. Was too fatty and meat wasn't that amazing.

First time here and I would say I’m quite impressed with the food menu. They are unique! Enjoyed my meal thoroughly and I’ll definitely be back to try out other dishes. It’s a short walk from Bugis MRT. Convenient location, just opposite Shaw Tower.

I’ve been a patron to this place since 2019 and I must say the food is never disappointing. Their fusion menu is always innovative and consistently scrumptious, you will always find something new in every visit. My staples are fresh Oyster, C&C Pasta, Purple cabbage and recently I discover they offer really top notch Kombucha (my favourite is Mango & cinnamon kombucha). The Chicken liver pâté in latest menu is also a great delight. Highly recommend to book a table in advance to avoid disappointment. And pls be noted that the space is a bit small so it can be quite noisy at peak hour.

Saw this place on a tiktok post, immediately intrigued and reserved a spot for the next day. Went for the Chef Menu and wasn't disappointed. The taste and quality of the food was worth the price point perhaps even more. Hard to describe but it was a magical experience and service was great. Even if you see the portion looks less than 'normal', each bite is a flavor bomb and well complimenting with each other. By end of the course meal you will walk out very satisfied and enamoured by the food. If not then your taste buds something wrong. :p Will go again!

Always on a lookout for local culinary talents and the refined taste of Singapore, The Masses naturally comes under my radar. And this quaint, humble little restaurant delivers. Combining the meticulous techniques of French dining and the distinctive tastes of Singaporean food, the food here invokes the feel of familiarity and cosiness, enhanced by good doses of lux, uniqueness and creativity. I really enjoy tucking into the food here that offers a new perspective on local delights. The place is an eclectic, interesting mix of stylish modern watering hole and old school Chinese restaurant. It actually feels cosy here, great to hang out with friends. In addition, the service here is friendly and sincere. Crabmeat Kueh Pie Tee is generously stuffed full with briny sweet, silky crabmeat. This is so good! And the Kueh Pie Tee pastry shell is so thin and crispy. And part of the magic lies in the bottom of the shell: shredded turnip with XO sauce that showcases that beloved local flavour. Charred Grilled Squid is nice, but I actually love the sauce and salad more than the squid. The salad is packed with flavours of all spectrum and tastes so refreshing. And the joy of biting into fresh crunchy apple and fennel to release refreshing juices that is complimented by the tangy, slightly spicy sauce of tomato and nduja, an Italian pork sausage. The squid goes so well with the sauce. The squid is quite easy to chew, but it can be more tender in texture in order for me to swoon over it. I love C&C&C&C Pasta because of the generous dollops of crab meat, the hint of wok hey and smooth thin mee-sua-like pasta soaked in lobster bisque. The caviar amps up the umami meter further, which I always welcome. So luxurious and so satisfying. So unique and so old school. A must-try here. Coconut & Lychee dessert is Chinese cracker and coconut ice-cream stacked on top of light, cloud-like coconut foam blanking over lychee salsa. A local flavourful dessert beautifully reinterpreted with French techniques to include excellent texture and juxtapose of flavours. Highly recommend. The lunch set menu is really value for money since it has all the main stars of the restaurant featured here. And I also love the free drink of Pineapple Mango Basil that comes with the set meal. This is one of the great places to go to to enjoy luxurious local fare or just chill and have fun. Thoughts: Totally worth it for the unique experience

French Asian fusion cuisine at its finest. A playful take on familiarAsian dishes which leaves you wanting more! Second time here and still amazed at the intricate and delicate way they bring comforting home cooked favourites with a new twist! The fresh oysters with plum juice and buah long long shaved ice, the sourdough served with umami butter or kaya or the duck confit with wok hei kuay tiao and so many other spectacular dishes. Really enjoyed the tasting menu, 11 dishes with minimum 3 pax. Really value for money and many different textures and flavours to experience backed by an awesome crew who were attentive and efficient! Kudos to the front end and back end!

Went for the communal set and most of the dishes were great! Crabmeat Pie Tee was a bit fishy, Escargot and bone marrow was superb, C&C&C pasta was alright, but we really enjoyed the purple cabbage in prawn head butter! Nothing to complain about the two mains - Duck confit and Asparagus risotto. Service was generally good, except that the older short hair lady could really put a smile on while serving the tables. Would def come back to try their next version of menu when it happens!

Fusion food is always a hit or miss. I think this is more of a miss to me… But the ambience, presentation of food and price makes it up for it. Perhaps I'm not a fusion food kindof person. Service was nice, they even took note of the Birthday Celebration in the reservation note and wrote it on our dessert 😊 Mix of Sourdough and Umami Butter 4.5/5.0 Best dish here. CCCC Pasta 3.5/5.0 Generous amount of crabmeat. And I think it's lumpfish caviar. Find the whole dish too fishy and cold. Duck Confit and Kway Teow 3.8/5.0 Duck confit has a crispy skin and tender, fall off the bone meat. Well-executed. But feels that it doesn't match well with the fried kway teow with wok hei. And the peas are quite unnecessary IMO. Risotto 1.0/5.0 Just feels too grassy like you're eating a freshly mowed lawn. None of us enjoyed it. Citrus & Yuzu Curd Dessert 2.0/5.0 Deconstructed concept but feels like a mish mash of random ingredients thrown in. Sorry didn't really enjoy this, but thanks for the nice birthday handwriting.

Came for brunch with my partner. Love the vibes and decor of this restaurant. Though leanly staffed, the service was attentive and quick. We loved the flavours of the purple cabbage, prawn, crab kueh pie tee and steak, as well as the chempadak tart and fried camberbet desserts. Great place to hang out, with good food.

Special mention to the chicken liver pate and duck confit with noodles, truly amazing. The atmosphere has been really cosy and comfortable.

Poor & bad services , no manners indeed ! Will never recommend and go again though food consider still OKAY. 4th Sept 2021 called for booking on 5th Sept 2021 6pm slot. When we arrived the chinese short hair lady waitress told us that we can only sit at the outside as morning she "did try to inform us via a missed call" that the seats inside are fully booked. (I wonder a SMS will do!?) Okay it's fine for me as we lazy to walk around already. So we had the seat outside, and yes, there is only one so called "reserved table" outside. I have no idea what is the purpose of reserving the table one day earlier. When we finished the food and still having our dessert. *****It's raining******* The chinese short hair lady waitress come and told us that she need to have the table back soon when there are still 2-3 empty tables !!!! Raining and chase us away? WTH? Is there time limit for the table? If so specify it on your website?

We ordered the meal set for 5-6 for lunch, only two tables were taken. Oysters is fresh. I can never imagine how wonderful the purple cabbage tastes until I try, pretty impressive. The fish with sour bean and onion is also perfectly cooked. Overall experience is satisfying, we ordered two pots of teas and the total cost is 380+.

Came here on a Friday afternoon for lunch. There was plenty of space. Had their set menus: C&C&C&C&C Pasta (starter) Wild Caught Lemon Sole Charred Grilled Squid "Hainanese" Canadian pork tomahawk Cempedak Tarte Tatin Food was interesting and delectable. I usually find fusion food a bit gimmicky but it was done well here. Flavours were unique and well balanced. Their signature pasta was a umami bomb, and their "hainanese" pork tomahawk was a refreshing mix of flavours. The cempedak dessert was also great, with the chilli molasses working surprisingly well. Perhaps their least impressive dish was the squid, which wasn't bad but felt like it was hastily put together without as much thought. Service was thoughtful and helpful, especially in accommodating our baby in a stroller. Ambience was nice and quiet, although I'm not sure how it'll be when it's more crowded.

Wonderful service. The zucchini flower was so awesome. The sauce went very well with it. The beef cheek & duck confit were good too. The portion generous. When the crowd comes in, the enclosed place tends to get loud. Then again, it adds to the lively vibe.

this place serves up a unique fusion of french and asian flavours, where every dish is thoughtfully crafted using hand-processed local produce and served in a casual but sleek setting! i tried their 🍝 𝘾&𝘾&𝘾&𝘾 𝙋𝙖𝙨𝙩𝙖 [$25.9], which is basically what its name says it is—crabmeat, chorizo crumble, caviar, confit lemon with lobster sauce, served cold. i’ve never had anything quite like it and thought that the blend of seemingly disparate components went surprisingly well together ☺️the lobster sauce is rather thick though so it might get a bit gelat after a while nat got the 🌸 𝙕𝙪𝙘𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙞 𝙁𝙡𝙤𝙬𝙚𝙧 𝙍𝙞𝙨𝙤𝙩𝙩𝙤 [$24.9] which looked like a work of art. it came with kelp butter, asparagus, edamame, grana padano and most intriguingly of all, a ricotta stuffed zucchini flower

Food portion could be bigger, the Duck confit was nice, flavourful and crispy though the rest of the dish had something burnt in them. Not sure if thats what it's supposed to or an isolated case. Nice food nice portion, and love the innovative and fusion of the food. It’s a cozy place but just get a bit noisy when there are a lot of diners. Love the purple cabbage and duck confit. Duck confit it serves with the hor fun as the base which I think is very nice pair and interesting.

We brought a wine from Hawaii and can’t believe corkage fees is $40. Food was value for money, duck confit was exceptional. We went there for Father’s Day celebration and ordered quite a bit off the menu. The restaurant insisted we buy a bottle so that we can have free corkage, but there’s only 3 of us who drinks so we ordered half a carafe… would have appreciate some leeway in terms of corkage fee and on accounts of special occasion. I even asked if we could hit minimum spend on food just to open that bottle for free, answer is no. Terrible service on a joyous occasion left a bitter taste. Unfortunately, above average food won’t keep me from going back.

The dishes are nicely executed especially the meat dishes, however I recommend getting the ala carte dishes for better value instead of the chef menu as it is a bit more pricier which should be otherwise.

Just finished home order via Oddle. Unfortunately our experience was a little single tone when it came to flavours of our char siew lamb rib, pork cheek pithivier, purple cabbage and wok hey rice noodles. Maybe char siew isn’t what my hubby enjoys with lamb rib but it was certainly cooked well. Purple cabbage seems over cooked? Lending a very mushy texture. The pithivier was overpowered by the ketchup manis and all the flavour got lost in that I could barely make out even the salted egg yolk unless I ate it alone. Nice thin pastry tho. The noodles had great wok hey and tasted good. Might recommend to swab out salted egg yolk for something else so the texture isn’t powdery all the way through and make it heavier than it already is. Fusion is tough to reinvent. Full marks for creativity for sure and I still look forward to trying the butter and kaya I bought on the side to spread on my bread. Perhaps dine in will be better, will try again next time.

Did a self collect here on a weekday night for dinner. Tasty food, well packaged. Only part that disapointing was the rice grains for kurobuta pork don was a tad too hard, perhaps not enough hydration. The rice grains in Lu Rou Fan benefitted from the oil in gravy sauce, which meant slightly more grease.

This local French fusion restaurant is not too bad, got some European twist too it. I mean, it's not like Jack's place in which very Singaporean western food, or my hk friend always called it Chinese European dish or vice vesa, 😂. I ordered 4 entree of lamb, octopus, purple cabbage and melt cheese bun; 2 main course of mushroom risotto and duck confit, all up less than $120 sgd, not including drinks. The service is definitely very poor because the waitress are not train properly. Its not too cheap or expensive, so depends how you look at it. 😊 eating

Fusion deliciousness at reasonable prices. Brought my wife for offpeak “lunch” and they were kind to accommodate us as walk-in customers. They are usually fully-booked for peak timings so be mindful to book ahead. Seatings and tables inside are limited but generously spaced out, ensuring that the decor and ambience remains comfortable and enjoyable.

Interesting flavours, but the quality of ingredients could be better. Enjoyed the frogs legs, which were tender and had good flavours. The purple cabbage tasted good. But instead of any whole piece of scallop, there were just white morsels that were too small to taste like scallop. The meat for the lamb t-bone could have been better though the flavours were fine. The claypot angus beef cheek bourguignon was ok but the meat texture could have been better.

Service was attentive and fast. The small menu is filled with inventive and well-executed dishes. The flavours are clean and developed, technical aspects like crisp fried pastry on the appetiser and Creamy risotto with a bite make The Masses a wonderful find along beach road. Every dish was a hit and the quality of the food makes the experience so worthwhile. Their dessert was a star, the combination of melty camembert and a delicious homemade strawberry compote with rich vanilla ice cream is perfection! Definitely a staple restaurant to revisit!!

Finally got to try the food here - always found the food looking pretty interesting and beautifully plated. Came on the first weekend after P2HA and the place was very empty on a Sunday night. The waitress was kind enough to recommend us some of the popular food items which we proceeded with. We had a total of 4 starters and 4 mains amongst 5 guys. Definitely some hits and misses. I particularly enjoyed most of starters: the pasta (both visually and taste wise), char Siew lamb ribs, cabbage. The pastry with salted egg (it’s the kind you find in your mooncake) was too much for me, as I was expecting the zichar kind of salted egg. For mains I particularly enjoyed the duck confit (there is fried kway teow beneath the duck which was so tasty!). Everything else was alright but I wouldn’t think it’s special. As for the fish, there was an obscene amount of bones in every bite which made it extremely hard to eat as a main dish. Some of the mains were also on the steeper side so I would definitely focus on trying more of the starters. Ambience wise it was cosy and comfortable, and service was good.

Found this place by accident and I'm so glad I did! French food with an Asian twist was such a treat for the taste bud. We had oysters and crabmeat Pie Tee as starters. Creamy oysters went really well with the chives and soy as well as garlic and vinegar (I think). Pie Tee was so crunchy and paired perfectly with the traditional radish topped with crabmeat. The purple cabbage is a must order and it blew me away. I wasn't expecting it to be so flavourful! The ikura, scallops and cabbage drenched in prawn head butter sauce was pure comfort for the soul. We just kept scooping and scooping the sauce over the cabbage before wolfing it down. I had the lamb saddle as my main and ordered it done medium-rare. When served, I thought it looked rarer than I expected. Fortunately, once I sank my teeth into the ultra-tender New Zealand lamb, it didn't matter anymore. The addition of jinghua ham really enhanced the flavour and worked well with the lamb. This is probably the best lamb I've had in a long while. The wife also really enjoyed the duck confit and probably too well as I didnt get to try much. So I guess it's a must-order as well. The dinner definitely ended on a high with the deep fried Camembert drizzled with honey and paired with strawberry jam and yoghurt ice cream. It was pure indulgences. Definitely coming back again.

We enjoyed every dishes ordered especially the purple cabbage. The chef came out to serve us the appetiser which was very yummy and thanked us for dining out. Wine and food were reasonably priced. Definitely value for money.

Food and service here is top notch. The Masses offer chef’s menu but getting the Ala carte selections are great options as well. Standout dishes are the pork chop - cooked to perfection. You get soft and tender meat seasoned beautifully accompanied by a some garlic puree.

Food was pretentious and simply didn't taste good. Onion with chocolate was gross. Beef was overcooked and chewy (ordered MR), had the wine pairing and it was bad. Served a dry Riesling with dessert after a red wine. This is bottom three dining experiences in Singapore in 3 years. I can't comprehend the high review or the fact it was packed with locals (Singaporeans no idea if from Bugis). Service was decent though. Better off going to So France or Arab Street.

Delightful cuisines in a charming restaurant with a simple decor. Excellent starters: foie gras, octopus & cauliflower, and escargots were ok because they were not served in the shells but coated with breadcrumbs. Their signature dish of crabmeat, chorizo and caviar pasta was top class but it’s a cold dish - I would have preferred a hot dish. Mains of Duck Confit, Mushroom Risotto and Cod were very good too! Finally the deep fried Camembert is to die for. The Yuzu dessert and Buah Keluak ice cream were unusual.

A place where you get great value for money. The CCCC pasta was very well done. You can taste the lobster sauce and they are very generous with the crabmeat. I felt that the caviar got alittle lost in the whole dish but don't get me wrong, it was really tasty. The duck confit was perfectly cooked but I couldn't taste the wok hei in the rice noodles it was served with. The lamb saddle was also perfectly cooked to a medium and the sauce was delicious. The ham added a nice saltiness to the dish and the peas completed the dish. It was well executed and balanced. Very happy to have tried this place and look forward to coming back.

We really wanted to love this place, but won't be returning too soon. The ambience and decor was definitely on point, and we loved that we could find this gem in the midst of all the Chinese hot pots. I also appreciate the innovative menu, and can see its something they change up based on previous diners dishes. We had the hog head hot plate, bread, shrimp yuzu fried spring roll, mussels as starters. Then the duck w kwayteow and mushroom risotto. The only dishes that really stood out in flavor was the mushroom risotto, shrimp fried spring roll, and mocktail apple spritz. Especially given the price, about 15 to 20 bucks per starter, we had higher expectations. The hog head hot plate was very oily, and whilst they had the soft tacos and lime to cut through, it felt so heavy. The mussels was way too buttery and needed more acidity or wine to cut through. Also not enough mussels. The bread at 4.50 for half a slice of sour dough and one little round bread was an absolute rip off. Especially if you're fine dining (or charging that cost) it should come complimentary given the food price of the starters and other items. Also it didn't taste freshly baked which further didn't warrant the price, and butter was stone cold. The shrimp w yuzu was great at 4 dollars per piece, a mix of dimsum and Japanese flare. While the duck confit main I thought was cooked really well, the sides in the dish didn't bring anything different to cut through the duck flavor. We thought maybe something more orangey or a fresh Asian salad or something different could have helped enhance the dish. The mushroom risotto was great, could taste the Asian infused flavors and they had some dehydrated mushrooms that were a real treat to find in the dish. Service was really hit or miss. The server was a really sweet lady, but we had to remind to serve us water after sitting down for 10 min, and to pass us butter, some of the basics that we wished a server would naturally know to do. I think if it was priced at a more reasonable range, I would have rated this higher, but given the price point, the food was quite disappointing as well as the service experience.

The lamb rib was the star of the meal. IMO, not worth to top up for the caviar and uni. Dont think it changes the flavour of the pasta significantly. Lamb shank in claypot was delicious but probably wouldn’t reorder it.

the food was alright, but not great. the presentation definitely makes it look better than it tastes. the stuffed courgette flower was excellent, however, the CCCC pasta could be more refined. if only the chefs paid more attention to the flavor than the presentation. overall, i would say the masses is more style than substance. good for first dates.

Since this place is founded by Saveur’s co-founder, they definitely delivered on the duck leg confit. This time, atop a bed of “wok hey” rice noodles (like kway chap, for those who know). I shared a pork pithivier with my dining partner, and we’re pretty disappointed. Basically it’s dry fillings dropped in a dry pastry shell. Meh. Oh, the Negroni was good though. So I might be back for that and the C&C&C&C pasta.

  • 5/5 Maria G. 3 years ago on Google
Very friendly and proactive service staff, and a really welcoming decor. We liked the cold pasta (which we topped up $7 for uni), even though the uni was a little briny. The purple cabbage dish was fascinating, and I think it’d be a crowd pleaser for vegetarians (if they remove the seafood elements). Not the biggest fan of the duck confit, because the horfun and sauce did not pair perfectly with it - we thought mashed potato would have worked better. All in all, we will be back to try the other dishes (like the foie gras)! Btw as a fun fact: the reason why the pasta is so reasonably priced is its use of black lumpfish caviar, which is much cheaper than the sturgeon caviar we typically associate with “premium” and “expensive”.

Simple place serving fusion french cuisine. Am pleasantly surprised by the variety in the menu. Was initially sceptical of this place as the team here are primarily local (just an observation) and we are dealing with french food. Definitely unfounded once the food is out. Ordered pasta, beef cheek and octopus. All 👍👍👍.

My dining experience here was an utter disappointment. I sat down around 7.20pm, placed my orders before 7.30pm. The restaurant was relatively full but not fully occupied, my first side dish only came after 30 minutes of waiting and the serving was rather small for the price. Throughout the entire time, the kitchen kept bringing out delivery orders but our orders were nowhere to be seen. We tried prompting the staff for our food, but she just replied “you have to wait” and did not offer to even check on the status of our order with the kitchen. After 1 hour of waiting, our first main finally came and it tasted like a bad hawker dish. After our second main came, we decided to ask them to serve our dessert immediately since we were tired of waiting. However, the dessert did not come even after 10minutes of waiting. When I ask the staff, she did not listen to me and immediately went on to say that they only serve desserts after all the mains are cleared. This then puzzled me, because why did your colleague promise me to bring the dessert when I requested. The bill came out to $136, which in my opinion, is totally not worth it for the food and service quality we experienced.

Visited the restaurant on a Friday evening. It was full and we had to settle for an outdoor seat so do book ahead if you can. Food was very reasonably priced considering the quality and the efforts that went into plating. For mains, I would recommend the Duck Confit which came on a (small) bed of Hor Fun and i must say, they went very well together. The Beef Cheek was pretty good too!

The food price & taste are definitely worth it. Service is quick & friendly. We ordered the Octopus & C&C&C&C Pasta as starters (as shown in pictures) & we loved the Octopus, but the Pasta, still alright. As for Mains, we got ourselves the Kurobuta & Salmon. Both are amazing. I forgot to take a pictures of our Mains before chomping down on them.

Interesting place for the curious palettes. Truffle fries was a good sharing plate. Beef Cheeks was okay, a tad gamey. Duck confit was pretty standard. The waffles was very delicious with complex and interesting flavours and texture. Purple cabbage was also very novel. I am giving 5 stars for the novelty and also the unique flavours, a place i would definitely come again. A great conversation starter place for foodies.
