Best fishball soup near Bugis area. They don’t have bak chor mee, just mee pok with some sambal and lard. Highlight is their fishball is very flavor packed. So tasty and you definitely can taste the freshness of the fish. The soup is also very delicious. Order two bowls lah if you want to make your tummy happy. Beware the long Q in the morning.

Prepare to queue at this stall, queue moves quickly. Then after ordering, queue and wait for order to be prepared. Fishballs are handmade from different sizes, noodles are cooked just right. Nothing special about noodles. Tried dry type, sauce too wet for me so taste is not as compact as I would to have. At time of review, costs $4 and $5. Stall switched off signboard lighting and started countdown to their last remaining customers at just 930am! So be early if want to join the queue for a bowl or two of fishballs noodles.

Excellent bowl of Fishball noodles in a popular stall at Albert Centre. If you want to have breakfast, be prepared to queue for 15-20 minutes between 8AM to 10AM. The stall closes at mid-day or till stocks last. On the day I had visited, it had shut as early as 10AM. The noodles is al dente and not overly chewy. The portion of Fishballs is generous. The chilli mixed really well with the noodles, giving it a robust taste. Don’t forget to end with the pieces of lard. Shiok!

Finally got to try Hock Lee (not related to the infamous bus riots that took place in 1955). The past few attempts I was too late. They close at midday (even before that, if they sell out). When I got to the stall just before 8am, there was already a long winding queue?! Caught me by surprise! But the queue moved fast (got my noodle in 20 mins). And I found out the reason for the queue. This is comparable, maybe even better, than my current favourite at 79 Telok Blangah. I ordered a mee kia dry in the biggest size for $5 (overheard a lady ordered $6?! after). First, the soup. It was light yet tasty with a hint of Chinese parsley. Likely just fish broth; super nice! Next, the noodle base. Flavourful yet not overpowering; a perfect balance of chilli, vinegar, lard and soya sauce that coated my QQ noodle. I could eat this everyday! A sprinkle of spring onions will add the finishing touch. Finally, the fish ball. From its rough texture, you can tell it is mostly made of fish. Soft yet delicately bouncy, I dare to say it is the best. With fish ball this good, you don’t need any other ingredients like fish cake or whatnot. Definitely coming back for more. When I am up early. Which is everyday.

Very popular and it’s good to come early. As a tourist staying nearby, coming early gets the feel of calm and quietness. Fishballs are full of flavor, very juicy from the sea and soft in texture. Not many place has this kind of texture I presumed. Clear refreshing soup too. Noodles are well seasoned and very enjoyable. Worth the visit when the queue is not too long. In the morning, seatings are less crowded and cleaner too.

Simply among the best! Only quibble is that the minced pork portion is too little and was Pre cooked. But who comes here for the pork? It’s the fishballs that people rave about! Chilli could be more spicy but still goes extremely well with noodles!

The best fishballs I have ever had in Singapore! They were juicy, bouncy and so light. You can really taste how freshly they were made. The broth was also clear and not too salty. Came here at 10 am on a Sunday and they were already sold out of all noodles except meepok and mee. Also, they were completely sold out by 10:10, so if you want to ensure that you have options or even get to try it, make sure you come early!

As a saying, all good things must wait. This is one of the best fishball noodle in Singapore. The fishball is superb, however noodle texture is pretty normal. Nonetheless, the fishball is really what you should look forward to. Be prepared to queue and wait, but the queue moves pretty fast.

Not really a fan of it, seems like a pretty average Fishball noodle. A plus for adding pork lark but the chili for dry Noodles defintely not the best I have tested. Fishball as well not above average but defintely homemade.

Happened to be there in the morning after going to the temple. Saw the queue and decided to join them and try this fishball noodle. Love the generous serving of 6 yummy fishballs and kway Teow for $4.00! The fishball is yummy and I can taste the sweetness of fish meat. The Chili Sauce they used on the noodle is delicious but I regretted to ask them to put vinegar as it “steal” some of the taste from the Chili sauce. Oh.. best.. they are still using pork lard! Hahaha — my favourite! Well, really must go early as I noticed that the queue is getting longer after I finish the noodle. :))

The big question is it worth the queue? IMO, the short answer is no. It was closed when I went on a Wed, but when I arrived at 7.40am on Friday morning, it took about half hour to serve 15+ pax. Nice hawkers but nothing else memorable, not even the fishballs so raved. It cost me $4 . For a tastier fishball noodles, I prefer the one at Pandan Gardens though the service there can sometime rub people the wrong way.

Noodles texture is quite tough for my liking. Soft, bouncy fishball is the highlight. Long queue in the morning that moves fast.

This is my favourite fishball noodle stall. I had been patronising this stall for years even before the owner’s son took over the cooking. The taste of clear fish soup was still as good as in the past and their handmade fishball quality had improved but the best was still the olden days. The queue was usually long but it was worth waiting for me.

Always long queue, but really tasty teochew fishball noodle with clear soup and bouncy yellow tail handmade fishballs you probably can't find anywhere else. Teochews will like it, simple, umami blast and fresh bouncy fish balls, nice balanced dry noodles, amazing clear clear soup, like all teochew food.

My all time fave fishball noodles. Loads of vinegar, loads of lard, their special chilli all work together to create the perfect bowl of noodles. Their fishballs are irregularly shaped which means that they definitely handmade! They are super juicy. Prices are also extremely affordable. Definitely worth a try!

Good Traditional fresh fishball . But Noodles are the type that's stuck to the teeth. Over taste is good. There are two queue. One to order the noodle. The other to collect the food
