I went there for dinner so I cannot comment on the drinks. The lamb skewers tasted like the ones you can find in a typical Chinese restaurant, having a strong cumin flavor. The meat was chunky but tender. Then the burger was served. Oh it was heavenly. In comparison five guys or shake shack alike are like garbage. The waitress recommended the beef medium cooked. The patty was very thick and much bigger than the buns, and there was a big piece of bacon. First I had a small bite of the bun and it was so buttery and soft. The burger was so big and was dripping rendang sauce. I was literally licking my whole palm. The burger was so savory and juicy and is definitely a must try! I’ll return for other items on their menu.

Arrived about 15 minutes after opening this Friday afternoon and was greeted by a nice lady who allowed me to choose my seat. Ordered a set of jerk chicken tacos and a stout beer. Both did not disappoint and were delicious. Ordered another beer that was of Singapore origin (Civilization Brewery) and that was delicious, as well. The service here is impeccable. I forgot to ask the lady's name, but she was more than helpful and answered always with a smile. I asked about local breweries and she was very knowledgeable. Thank you, ma'am! If you're ever in Singapore and a craft beer enthusiast, please visit this establishment. Though Heart of Darkness is Vietnamese craft beer, the service and food here is top notch. So many beers on tap. Thank you for the wonderful experience!

Cosy place to have a great pint with a wide selection 🍺 Heart of Darkness truly never disappoint with their concept 💀 ☠️. There’s a variety of 🍺 here that is tailored for everyone - bitter, sweet, fruity. 👍🏻

Excellent, local premium brewery experience. The drinks are not discount prices but you're paying for craft beers and really good food. The staff were knowledgeable about the drinks (even for one guest who didn't want beer, they explained the other options) and they were friendly and attentive. The decor is dark and moody but super cool; it works for the overall vibe. It's probably worth trying the tasting option to experience the full range.

Nice beer. Tried the affair west coast IPA and Marlow’s mellow pomelo IPA and both was my taste.

First, it is actually pretty dark inside! 😏 The beers live up to the hype, try the spicy ones, and the dark ones. The food is pretty good as well, weather you drink or not. Our favorites were the jack fruit tacos (kept ordering more and more). The sashito peppers, nachos, and banh mi sandwiches were also good. Service at the restaurant is good, attentive and not pushy. They have an open kitchen, so you can see just how clean and fast the chefs are.

Delicious food in their revamped menu, with a wide selection of craft beers (mostly Heart of Darkness). Please bring in more interesting beers to include in your tap rotation! I also enjoy the nice, dark, chill space. A little on the pricey side.

Visited in Nov 2022 Very good beer collection. And the accompanying food menu is also pretty decent. I tried a couple of the Pale Ales and they were very good. Fast and efficient service too. Would come back to try out other beers. Would definitely recommend visiting this place.

Time to write a review for Heart of Darkness Singapore after visiting then three times. Situated along Keong Siak Road closer to Pinnacle Towers rather than Chinatown. Would strongly recommend that you take the MRT there alighting at Outram Park MRT Exit H and taking a short 3 min stroll to the bar. HOD has a large selection of beers, lagers, stout, ale, gin and various House pours including wine. And from my understanding some of their brews are from Saigon. Seems the business flourished in Saigon hence one opened up here in Singapore. Will love to visit the one in Saigon one day. Here in Singapore, there is over 30 different craft beers distinctly favoured and brewed to every taste and occasion. Every one from the tap are crisp and very distinct so I urge you to try them first in that smaller glass which looked like a cognac glass before committing to larger pints. My personal favourites are; 1. Excited Magpie Dry Irish Stout 2. Futile Purpose Cucumber Pilsner 3. Dream Alone Pale Ale The Staff can recommend how you should take the different flavours if you are keen on trying a bit of everything. Go for the refreshing and lighter ones before moving into the stronger brews. Their food menu aren’t shabby as well… my first visit I had the pulled pork Banh Mi. On my second, I had a buffet of pizzas and the Four Cheese Pizza is my favourite!! And my third recent visit, I had a big meal and ordered amongst the four dishes - the Four Meat Platter comprising of a steak, beef Ribs, crispy pork belly and what I thought was some pulled pork. I also tasted the family sized nachos, pizza and truffle fries. The Ribs were the best with the meat being super juicy and tender “fall off the bone” type of Smokey flavour. Think fatty umami soft juicy beef….. The service staff were attentive and prompt. I have experienced the same throughout my 3 visits and they were excellent!

Awesome Rock style brewery with very nice food. We met the new chef and tried the tacos, wings, padron peppers and chicken skewers. Everything was very yummy. And of course plenty of craft beers, some from Vietnam and others with guest breweries from different countries.

You will like it if you are a beer lover given their wide selection. Food was not to our liking and on the pricer side. The lamb tacos has a bit of gamey taste.

While waiting for our dinner reservation, my wife and I decided to stop by for a drink, and our experience was elevated by the service provided by Diyana. From the moment we entered the restaurant, Diyana greeted us with a genuine smile and a warm welcome. Her professional and friendly attitude immediately made us feel at ease. Diyana's attention to detail and commitment to exceptional service were evident throughout our visit. She took the time to explain the menu offerings, making insightful recommendations based on our preferences. Her knowledge of the drinks was impressive. What stood out the most about Diyana's service was her genuine passion for her work. It was evident that she genuinely cared about ensuring that every guest had a memorable and enjoyable time at Heart of Darkness. Her enthusiasm was infectious, and it created a positive atmosphere that contributed to the overall ambiance of the restaurant. In addition to her professionalism, Diyana's friendly nature added a personal touch to our experience. She engaged in friendly conversation, making us feel like valued guests rather than mere customers. Her warmth and attentiveness truly made us feel special, and it is rare to encounter such exceptional service in today's hospitality industry. I highly commend Diyana for her outstanding service at Heart of Darkness. Her professionalism, attention to detail, and warm hospitality left a lasting impression on us. The combination of the restaurant's fantastic ambiance and Diyana's exceptional service makes Heart of Darkness a must-visit destination for anyone seeking a memorable dining experience in Keong Saik Road.

Love the Heart of Darkness brewery in Singapore! I try to come back every time I'm here and try their different brews. You have to start with their Kurz's Insane IPA, it's their flagship brew that's sure to satisfy the weary traveler who's been walking all over town from the Merlion to the Buddha Tooth Temple. In fact it's only a five minute walk from the temple. Next try the Dream Alone Pale Ale, another delicious pour. Don't forget to sample their menu of bites too, meat platters, taco platters, bar snacks and burgers abound. The music is always awesome and the staff are happy to answer questions. Before you leave buy a t-shirt and get the word out! Heart of Darkness... enter the darkness!

A long tap list, mostly their own, local brews. Generally excellent, supported by good food, service and a dark atmosphere. Considering the location, decent value, especially the flights.

Loved everything about this place! Happy, friendly & attentive staff. We were sat down and our order taken immediately. The craft beers/stouts/sours are so delicious! If you’re looking to try different craft beers you should come here! They give different sizes as-well so no need to worry about filling up on full pints. We ordered some tacos which were very delicious & the bangers and mash I’d recommend! Delicious!! One drink I have to recommend has got to be the strawberry shortcake sour! So delicious! The music and the atmosphere was fun, we had a great night tasting beers here! Thanks to all the staff for a fantastic night & to the chefs for delicious food.

Delicious burger (Pepe El Toro), juicy patty beautifully seasoned and we also tried the Flight of 4 (Futile Purpose Cucumber Pilsner, just as refreshing as promised in the description; Dream Sensations Hazy IPA, nice and sweet good for ladies; Kurtz’s Insane IPA and Dream Alone Pale Ale. Even my partner agreed Futile and Dream Sensations tasted the best of the four :9).

Very good selection of craft beers. Staff knows their speciality. Especially the seasonal products everyone should support and try. Some sorcerer NEIPA was excellent. I am yet still not tasted The Ghost, but on paper it sounds like I am going to love it. Only thing i would desire, is a beer tasting menu. Like there would be 4 very small beers to taste, to find yours, for example.

Went to chill with friends and had a good experience. Food is quite nice considering that their focus is more of craft beer. Didn't manage to take photo of the beer because was too excited to try the flavours. Can give the beer (mango sour) a try if you are someone who enjoys sour drinks !

Visited 3 times now. The beer is good but their logistics are comically bad. First time: waited 20 minutes and couldn't get a drink. It was their opening day and they were running a free flow special, so I let it slide. Realistically, they oversold that deal. Second time: beer variety was great and the quality was good, but no better than other craft beer locations. Staff were knowledgeable on the beer flavours and the location is enjoyable when it's not busy. Third time: 2 different people went to find us a table and never came back, so we decided to stick with drinks. Unfortunately in the 15 minutes we were there, we couldn't flag a waiter, so I hit up the bar. I ordered a standard and a small but they served and billed me for two standards. I'll probably go back but not until they've figured out their wait times.

Awesome; craft beer, food and staff! John was extremely friendly in orienting my partner and I to the must try stuff. The Monday 1-for1 slider promo was one of the highlights next to the beers we had (Dream alone and Luminous space). The Mac&cheese portioning was a lil small but was made up for its quality flavour! The vibe of the place was very chill with some really great music. Will definitely recommend this place!

VERY good craft beer. It's the best beer that I have found in all of SE Asia. The prices are rather expensive - about $15 / pint, but you get what you pay for. They offer three different sizes of beer (small, standard and pint). I would recommend getting a couple of flights so that you can sample many of their brews. They had 20 or so beers on tap with two collaborations with Little Creatures. Their beer styles rotate regularly which you would expect from a craft brewer. I am only rating this 4-stars because the Heart of Darkness Brewery, in Singapore, is just a pub where they sell excellent beer and merchandise, but the physical brewery is in Saigon (their flagship location). When I saw "Heart of Darkeness Brewery Singapre" I thought that meant they literally had a brewery here. Sadly they do not.

Cool little craft ber pub. It doesn't look like they brew anything on site but beers are tasty and food is good. Sunday free flow looks good too

These guys KNOW their beers. Just tell them what you like and chances are with all the taps available, you WILL get it. Mood is good staffs are awesome. Didn’t go for the food so can’t say anything but hell, the beers alone were worth a visit , or two, or three, of more . First time tried an aged beer(?) and found it most interesting. Can’t wait to be back in August at 1 Keong Siak

Good beers, decent food, friendly service, a bit pricey. I had the Omi burger and overall it had a good taste, but the meal was a little on the salty side. It was also a bit pricey at $24, but there is a cheaper burger for $14 Beers are pretty great here, nice selection. Service is very friendly, but they were a little disorganised. Price range is somewhere between medium and high. Definitely not on the cheap side. I would go again, but not for the same burger as it's overpriced.

What a great addition to the neighborhood. This community watering hole is an attractive tap house for all beer lovers! Whether it’s a crisp pils or a juicy east coast ipa you are looking for, they have everything you desire. They stay close to their roots and have a Vietnamese inspired menu that is mouth watering. The chill atmosphere is perfect for a happy hour pint after work or a Sunday funday. Looking forward to my next visit! ?

Great beer! I went for their opening and had a chance to try more than a few :) Their IPA is really good and I was impressed by the diversity of options and the really high quality. I had a chance to chat with the owner who was in from Vietnam. Great guy, definitely knows his beer and I'm excited to try out more from their line up!

Beers are great, and large selection. Not the cheapest but very tasty. The caramelised pork belly and quail eggs was fantastic, recommend. The spring rolls were very bad, would not recommend. Fairly nice setting, nothing over the top, pretty simple but nice enough. Would be great if a touch cheaper, racked up a decent bill in a pretty short time only having a light lunch with the Mrs.
